Hope all had fun at the Pines....I had a starbucks on my way to the Pines....YUM! I can sooooo taste the Pumpkin Spice Latte......mmmmmm.

Had a phone call today from a lady in town who knows how much I like Christmas. Says she decided to start all over with her Christmas decorations and she was going to throw away her old ones.....unless I wanted to come load them up and take them home....and take them home I did! She has some great stuff, almost looks new!

Tomorrow is my Friday!

I had to forego the camel ride. With these broken ribs, I knew it would be too hard on me. But the twinkies and twinklings were wonderful. Carl is so happy that he might be able to give Darlene Love a ride!!

It was a great time! Loved finally meeting that crazy camel and having a fried Twinkies. I ache all over this morning from that ride! cheesy

Good morning, Christmas friends. It is already a warm morning here in northern California and is supposed to get hot again today. Just today and tomorrow for summer school. I will be glad to wake up on Monday and not have to go into work. But I do have to worry about moving my classroom. Totally dread that. Hope everyone has a great day.

Right on the nose, CAH! The peanuts we had Sunday night came from my brother-in-law's field on Saturday. We pulled them from the field, picked them off the plants and rinsed them off. From there to a big pot on a propane burner. We put a bushel of peanuts and a box of Morton salt with enough water to cover all the peanuts. Just boil them for a few hours, testing a few as you go along.

My mother-in-law cooks them in a pressure cooker. It's faster, but I never trusted pressure cookers, myself.

Ain't none gooder! cheesy

I only got a hold of some fresh peanuts ONE time here. They boiled up real nice!

From then on I had friends and family call and say, "the store down the street has RAW peanuts for sale"! I had a hard time explaining they are very different. The fresh ones are still soft and the raw are as hard as a rock. I tried numerous times to boil the raw ones for up to 8 hours and they still didn't get soft. Blah!

Off to the store this weekend to buy some canned ones! Yummo!

Yes, you are lucky!!! We have Independence Day on July 4 and Labor Day in September but nothing in August. Hmmm, plus it gets cold and snowy in Canada. Do they need teachers up there?

Good Thursday afternoon, my Christmas friends!

My brother called me yesterday afternoon to let me know he had some spare time, and could come to help with the deck. Them mom called and said she was coming, too, and bringing her famous spaghetti. Then my sis-in-law and bro-in-law stopped by & decided to eat, then my pa-in-law stopped by and stayed to eat, too! LOL! We had a big pcinic on the deck.
Jim and I worked in the deck till 9:30pm, and my old back was KILLING ME (I'll be glad when it finally lets me loose!), and we got a lot done.

He just called and wants to do some more today. I hope I can take it!

Another day closer to Christmas, back to work for 7am. I am really struggling right now it was 3 weeks ago tonight the tornado hit and it still feels like it was yesterday, I have been having dreams about it and the fears I felt at that time still are with me. The sights of people crying in the street won't go away, the beautiful forestry around here is just obliterated yet I most vividly remember being woken up before 5am the next day by the sound of 3 helicopters flying overhead. I know the healing will take awhile but the anxiety is making me crazy. I have Christmas to look forward to but as of right now it looks like I will have to have surgery on Dec. 23, nothing major but it is still surgery. I am getting closer to my vacation 4pm next Thursday it starts.

I just want to clear my mind.

I know EXACTLY what you are going through and my heart goes out to you all. I am not a doc but it sounds like you have PTSD - which is something some folks get after suffering a trauma. I have it because of the trauma that happened to me because of what I saw. It is NORMAL believe it or not to have "flashbacks" of the event. So don't be too hard on yourself. (((((HUGS))))) to all in your town xo

I went with Nancy and the kids to the mall Tuesday night. I slipped away and went to the Hallmark store and got a Dreambook Catalog. I love that book! I've already memorized it...LOL! I was disappointed, though, with the limited number of Star Trek ornaments this year. Still, it's nice to have the catalog!

I know !!! I always get the Star Trek ornaments for my sis because she is a HUGE "Trekkie" !!!

I just realized that I was poster 12,800, so no prize will be going out to me!!!

Good morning! I have been a busy cleaning lady the last week or so! I have been in a pitching mood! It feels good! I'm getting the house ready for the Countryfest weekend, which is starting TONIGHT! The pre-party is at our house tonight - we are browning 25 lbs. of ground beef & chopping 20 lbs of onion to make Chili for the party at our house Saturday night - after the festival. Tomorrow night the pre-party is at our back yard neighbors house. Might as well get the party started! :dance: The fest actually starts Friday night (accross the road from our house) which always includes a nice craft show with lots of fun CHRISTMAS things!!! Really looking forward too it!!

Sorry about your dreams... that sounds so horrible..and I hope your surgery date can get changed to maybe the beginning of January? Good luck with everything!

Hello MMC! Missed you guys yesterday.. had a nice lunch with my Boys and my Mom. Had a mole removed (cut out) of my back this morning.. not actually as painful as I thought it would be.. now that wait to make sure it was not cancerous... hopefully will know in about a week to 10 days. I hope everyone is doing well. Had a yummy sub from Subway today for my lunch.. back to work for me.. have a good afternoon friends! Cant believe we are half way there almost!!

Good morning, Christmas friends. It is already hot here in northern California. I went to Wal-Mart last night and bought a package of five dice and a deck of cards for each of my students. I have to go to Chico to get the Yahtzee score cards because the local store was out. I am going over tomorrow after school to get those. Then I will decorate paper bags to put the stuff in. I think they will like it. I hope everyone has a great day!

Good Afternoon, Christmas family !

Rain showers here in NE Ohio.. Not bad though. Just nice peaceful rain.

Still worried about my job even though my supervisor says she thinks I am okay. The thing is, I am behind by about 14,000 characters for the pay period. Now that sounds like a lot but all it would take to catch up would be a couple of nice looooong reports by someone I can understand cheesy

I am SO EXCITED though !!

I purchased ADVANCED Tickets for my sis and me to see Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows Pt 2 On July 15 !!!!!!!!!! We have followed the series together since the beginning.

Okay, everyone who is on right now. What are you having for dinner? I SO don't know what to fix!! Help me out here!

I had a cheeseburger with homemade macaraoni and cheese at a small cafe. Then I walked across the parking lot to the ice cream stand and got a peanut butter sundae for dessert.

As Anna Roseanna Danna would say, " Never mind." Hubby just came in and asked what was for dinner. Then he suggested hamburgers with the leftover mac and cheese. PERFECT!!! So he will do the grilling and I will do the chilling!!!

Our weather in Wisconsin has been wacky and unpredictable. We rocket between heat and humidity to pulling out the fleece jackets again!
I can hardly believe we are closing in on the fourth of July!

It's doing the same thing here again. Yesterday it was almost 90 with 80 percent humidty and today it's 72 with no humidty.
