Meceka, just that good ol' regular Folgers blend. YUMMY!!! Of course, I use plenty of sweetener.

Binger....check in! You 2 xmas 365! Worried about you guys!

Isn't it funny...we've never ever met....but yesterday all of you on the coast were in my thoughts.

Crown, is the Pines on the East Coast? If so, how is Carl?

WOW! Yes, this does make Christmas seem closer.

...Is it possible we are only 19 days off from the 100-day mark to Christmas?
Do you realize we are but 4 days away from the start of September?
September -- when Crabtree Valley Mall opens the "A Christmas to Remember" shop.....and.....WE LAUNCH THE CHRISTMAS BLOSSOMS THREAD!!
(There, now! Does the Christmas Season seem sufficiently close?)

Good morning, Christmas friends. It will be another hot day here in northern California. The luau last night was good. We had a mango chutney that was divine. The pulled port was good, too. I am so glad when you guys on the East Coast check in. You all have been on my mind. I am waiting to hear from my son in Maryland. Take care, everyone. As much as you can, have a great day!

I know it was a dangerous situation with the bees and wasps, but I do have a funny picture of you with your ponytail!!!

Seawaters, friend, congrats on Member of the Month! For your prize, you get a half eaten steak! LOL! Seriously friend, congrats!

Plus, I'm getting to sit out on the deck this morning and have coffee while I read the boards! First time in over two months it's been cool enough to do this. I love nice cool mornings. It's 75 with a slight breeze, but it's been around 82 or 83 in the morning since middle of June. Fall, here we come!

Crown: I'm very happy there was minimal damage where you are - hope your cottage is in excellent shape!

Coach: I love Folger's regular blend - with cream, no sweetener!

Seawaters: I pray you hear from your son soon!

Getting windier, but rain has slowed a bit. The "eye" is now in Connecticut, so it should be here soon, my town is on the Mass/Conn state line. So far the boys are acting normal, I think JP is disappointed because he thought it was something you could see, had to tell him it's a lot of wind and rain.

Be back soon.

Now, this is funny!!!

xmas and Merry - how are you guys holding up? Did the storm head your way yet?

Irene's a tropical storm now. We're getting pretty good winds and rain here, with a few small branches down, but the worst of the storm hasn't come in yet---that'll be in the next several hours. Power is still on, so we're grabbing a hot breakfast and showers. Lights flickered a few times, and I saw a flash of lightning.

The MBTA has shut down for the day, and no toll takers on the Mass Pike.

I'll try to check back in as this progresses. xmas365, hang in there---I know it's supposed to be rough in your neck of the woods. Please check in when you can.

Crown and Binger, I'm glad you got through it relatively okay. You had her when she was a hurricane---we've just got the tropical storm to go through.

On top of all this, I'm coming down with a cold in the nose and throat that kept waking me up last night. Feeling a little feverish this morning. What timing. A good day to try and chase it with some tea while the power stays on.

Well, that was interesting! Last night I kept hearing fruit falling out of the trees, so I went outside a few minutes ago to get as much of the windfall pears as I could. I got my ponytail tangled in the branches of the lilac bush next to the pear tree and had to extricate myself without disturbing the bees and wasps of which I am highly allergic to. Success! :???:
If I do this again tomorrow morning, I will wear a hat!

Yeah! Maybe I should look up an online scanner for your area, Meceka! "Base to Rescue-23...123 Buzzy Lane... Woman with hair caught in tree limb amid a swarm of bees & Wasps...caution, scene safety, both bees and woman highly agitated!"

On the first day of Christmas
My true love sent to me
Her hair from a buzzing pear tree!

I hope you are better soon - summer colds are the worst! Be safe, Merry!

Me, too

My power just came back on, Not too bad some trees down and some power lines on the ground but we've been through worse storms than this, although its not over yet hang in there everyone.

Good Sunday afternoon, my Christmas friends!

Congrats to Seawaters! That's wonderful!

My son and I worked all day yesterday, cleaning out my workshop and shelter...and we hauled 1680 pounds of junk to the landfill!! I know because they weigh your trailer as you go in, then they re-weigh it after you leave, and you pay on the way out. It cost me $23 to dump junk at the landfill. LOL

After that, we went out to eat at Olive Garden. When we got home, we found that the wind had brought down another HUGE limb from one of our pecan trees. Oh, Lordy! I'm not paying again to have a limb removed. Jacob and I will get out there with a chainsaw tomorrow and get started.

I hope y'all have a great day! cheesy

It's just about done here, Irene's bark was worse than her bite. Our neighbor across the street had a large tree get uprooted, I believe it missed their house but I cannot see from this angle, I saw the tree fall when I was looking out the window. Our basement has flooded pretty badly, the ground is so saturated the water is just coming through the walls, I know what I'll be doing on Tuesday for my day off.
I hope everyone else has made it through with no issues.

RachRon: I'm glad your power is back on - hope things are continuing to improve!

Bradmac: I'm sorry you lost another limb off a pecan tree!

xmas365: I am so sorry about your basement flooding! Hopefully the falling tree missed your neighbor's house - that must have been something to see!

Good Afternoon Everyone!!!!!!! It's good to hear that Irene hasn't done to much damage and everyone is safe so far. I woke up this morning with a terrible headache so I took some medicine and went back to bed. I just got back up and it is still there but not as bad. I need to get some cleaning done today and then I am kick back and watch some Indy car racing. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!
