Not only is he an excellent quarterback, but he seems to be a down to earth, genuine guy!

Who do you follow in football, Seawaters? I have a few Raider & Charger fans in my office.

Snowflak22 - He is a real down to earth person, he did an interview and he said something about how he loves being a QB and yet staying under the radar so he can enjoy his personal time, I like that. (OK - so that is not word, for word - sorry I was going off memory)

I am sure we will have video so many parents do that today, I will get a copy. Tee Hee, I should share it with all of you!!!

That is awesome, we were discussing what the program cover would be, I will let them know this!!! :yahoo: YAY!!! This is SO cool and I have all of you to thank!!!

If you get video, you SHOULD share it---please do! Yes, this is VERY cool! Wonder what the author would have thought of all this, 101 years after the books was published?

The A/C is at a tolerable level so far, but then, I'm wearing a heavy cardigan.

Oh gosh! It must be the end of the world; there's a big ball of fire in the sky!!

Oh never mind. It's just the sun. Haven't seen it for so long I forgot what it looked like.

Hello all...

I have good news and bad news...

The good news is that Travis and I made it home safely.

The bad news is that our house flooded with all the rain that came while we were on vacation. Our carpets and flooring is ruined, our house smells like...well, rain soaked everything, and most of my stuff that was down in the basement is ruined. Not only that, but my parents' house, where all the REST of my stuff was being stored, got 17 inches of water in the basement, so all of my stuff THERE is ruined as well. Looks like we've got a really crappy weekend ahead of us, going through everything and seeing what the damage really is.

The other bad news is that no place around here is selling fans (they all sold out while we were gone), so there's no way to get the smell out, or dry the flooring. We are at a true loss of what to do.

I've breezed through some posts and see that other people are going through some hard times as well, or friends or family members are...I truly hope that everyone comes out of their hard times as well as they can.

Take care, everyone. <3

Vsuclaribnl, sorry to hear about the mess but glad everyone is safe!

Thank you, CAH. We are too...trying to focus on the positives but it is hard right now. <3

I am glad you are home, now as for the smell open your windows take a thin cloth (paper towels will do too if that is all you have) dampen them, spray some type of air freshener (or any thigh you like the smell of a body spray etc.) tape cloth to open window it acts as a vent and will help filter the bad smell and infuse the nice smell. Also, if you have a shop vac even if they floors are a little damp sprinkle very light amount of baking soda and shop vac up - use a shop vac not your regular vacuum - the baking soda draws the musty smell out and the shop vac sucks up any additional water. Hope this helps. Good luck and I hope most of your things will turn out OK.

Oh My.....I am so sorry for the flooding. What a mess. I hope you can salvage some things ((((HUGS))))

That is so awesome. I'm live in Altoona, originally from a little town called Roaring Spring, south of Altoona, by about 20 or 25 minutes. We live in here now because of my husband's job. All the fireman, policeman, and other city worker's have to live in the city. Some areas have been flooding, but not as been as down east.

I haven't been back that way in 9 years now. Some custard from Meadow's sounds really good though so maybe I can convince everyone we should head back next summer.

Just a quick hello..trying to catch up on some posts... been SOOOO busy with work , I work for an insurance company and we have SOOO many weather related claims! Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Hey good luck with everything! I work for an insurance company. There is some kind of powder you can put down to stop the growth of mold and mildew... make sure you put something down because it only takes a few days for mold to start to grow!

Oh, how awful ... I hope you find that not as much was ruined as it seems at first glance. I wish I had some good advice to offer.

wow, not a nice thing to come home to. Hope you get it all sorted out and dried out quickly!

Hubby has been a 49ers fan forever. This year, though, I think he will follow the Packers. I like Aaron Rodgers and I LOVE Peyton Manning. But with Peyton out, so to speak, I guess I will follow the Packers. When I was a kid and teenager, college basketball was my biggie!

You are right about Aaron. Plus he is so handsome!!

So sorry to hear about your bad news. A carpet cleaning company usually does insurance claims and will clean up the water mess. Hope your personal things can be salvaged.
