Christmas Countdown - 2011

Hi Christmas friends!
I am happy to say that this is the first day since we've been home that I haven't been completely stressed out. The basement is drying up nicely, everything that wasn't already in plastic bins now is, we've finally unpacked, and things are being cleaned up that hadn't been cleaned since we got home.
Then Penn State had to go and lose to 'Bama and it all went downhill (only half kidding, lol).
We were able to go hang out with friends we hadn't seen in over a month (and ask them both to be in our wedding!), watch the Michigan/Notre Dame game (yay for Michigan winning, even though I really don't care for either team, haha), and just sit and laugh for a while. Such a great, mostly relaxing day.
Tomorrow, we are going to a wedding for one of Travis' cousins...it doesn't start until 5 and probably will go until 11, and I have to go back to work Monday at 6am! Who knows how long we'll stay...never been to a Sunday wedding before!
I will also be thinking of everything that happened 10 years ago...can't believe it's been so long already.

Hi everyone! Hope you all had a great weekend! My husband and I had a blast at the wedding we went to this weekend. We were able to spend time with some of our friends that we don't get to see very often anymore. Most of the people we hung out with were in our wedding and are our best friends, but they work away from here now, so it was awesome to see everyone. Today, we went today a Pirates game and they did a nice tribute for 9/11. Well, I'm heading to bed since I had such a busy weekend - I'm sooo tired. Hope everyone has a great rest of their night! Same here. I was getting used to temps in the 80's. Oh, well. It's coming!
at least you are getting some heat now, my brother lives in Abbotsford and he was telling me what a wet chilly summer it has been there.
But, not having a AC when it finally gets hot sucks!

Yay - it is Monday, my favorite day of the week! Gorgeous day out - that is going to change later in the week as a cold front is moving in. There might be frosts/freezes with it - I hope not as the gardens are still going strong. I got a lot accomplished yesterday - it makes me eager to get working today.

It's a pretty morning out there! I had hoped to start my day with some sausage I cooked on the grill yesterday. I got some cajun-spiced sausage from Bernie's and cooked it on the grill yesterday afternoon. My plan was to have it for breakfast this morning, and I woke up thinking about it. Well, I left it out to cool before it went into the refrigerator, and I apparently didn't tell Nancy. She thought it was leftovers that I had taken out of the fridge to throw away, so she threw it away! Grrrr.
I'll get over it....but, it'll take some time. :x

the life of a teacher...you will miss that when you retire! (well, maybe not the work part, but you will miss the kids!)
I laughed when I read this because they are so famous for their potatoes. Yes, it is one of their main crops, but they are also starting to become famous for their berries...the cranberries and strawberries becoming better known every year.
Lobster is the best ever! Of course that is not exactly a "crop" but sure is good to eat!
