Good evening,

I am coming down with something and am feeling crappy.
Sounds like it's going around on here. I hope you get well soon!
Do any of you have any other suggestions??? (I am SERIOUS!!!)

I am sure this is TMI!!!
It sounds like you have everything covered!

The only other suggestion I have is go on a nice long cruise and relax! You will deserve it after going through all that. :D
thx girl...I usually hate whiners....lol....now I am whining myself bout my condition....I gotta say it a few years ago that it hit me this hard....I just hope that this was it for this year
You are not whining you are sick! I hope you get well very soon!
I'm noticing a lot more people with fall deco going up!
I have my indoor fall decor up but have not got the outside decorated yet. I love looking at all the pretty stuff in my house!

It got up to 107 yesterday and will be 100 today BUT tomorrow will only be in the lower 80's!!!!!!!!

My granddaughter will be coming over a little later than usual today and not sure what we plan to do today. We have been watching a lot Christmas and Halloween shows lately. I have about 20 different Halloween cartoons on vhs tapes and dvd's and of course (as I mentioned before) at least 300 Christmas ones. I say watch but we don't just plant ourselves in front of the tv all day but it's on and my granddaughter goes back and forth to the tv watches some and plays most the day. I love to just hear it going on in the background while I get chores done.

I hope you all have a great day and see you at The Pines!

Good Morning!

Hey! Two for the 'Pines already.
Welcome to your first visit, C-Troll. We are looking forward to your review.

Speaking of reviews, let's review where we stand count-wise:
Days to the Season: 60
Days to Christmas Day: 102
The 100-day Milestone to Christmas Day will be here the day after tomorrow.
And it's less than 2 months until the Season starts.
Incredible!

Another beautiful, low humidity calm one here in the capital city at this hour where we stand just over 68 wonderfully walkable/outside working degrees under sunny skies.
We need to enjoy this while we can as cold weather can suddenly arrive around these parts!

Well, Folks. Carl has announced that today will be a two-fer day at the 'Pines.
After the first free Fired Twinkie or Twinkling and glass of sweet southern iced tea (our cough-ee, your choice) all the remaining treats and beverages will be 2 for the price of one.
Awwww.... that generous camel.
Holiday, Carl and I will meet each and every comer at the door.

Have a Wonderful Wednesday/Happy Hump Day/Shimmering Shispering Pines Day, everyone!

Hey everyone! Update time!
The job offer! I had to do a bunch of online tests and passed with flying colors. They called me this morning and I go in for an interview for 9:30am tomorrow! Wooo!
Congrats!
did not get the hoped for job....guess I will be hitting the pavement with resumes again. So that is my only whine for the day....hopefully the rest of the day will be better!
I'm sorry, Christmasstar. I'm sure a better job is just around the corner!
As for yesterday, we took my 2 month old son, Dylan, to the Peds doctor. It was his regular check-up, but he has been having ongoing issues for about a month with spitting up with every feeding and inbetween.... I am just thankful that this is all that is wrong with him. It could be much worse - I thank God everyday I have otherwise healthy children.
I'm glad Dylan is ok!

I was reading an article about the drought you guys are dealing with, and how many cattle ranching families that have been in business for more than 100 years are going out because they can't feel or water the cattle. Terrible!

Thanks for all the prayers and kind words for my brother's girlfriend.

She had both breasts removed yesterday, and, unfortunately, they found more cancer in her lymph nodes. They are planned to start agressive chemo and radiation in a couple weeks. She's in great spirits, and she's ready to fight. Good for her!

Yes Brad, it is really bad here. At the Feed Store I work for we had a limit of 10 bales of hay per person, then down to 5, now down to 3! The worse part is on Sunday we were completely out of hay. I have been there nearly 9 years and never seen this happen. We had customers going from feed store to another just trying to get a bale of hay.

My front lawn is about dead and they are restricting to watering to only 2 times a week before 10 am or after 6 pm.

We actually have some rain right now in surrounding areas but I haven't seen a drop in front of my house! I do see it on the radar though!

So sorry they found more cancer. We will say a prayer for her!

Oh Brad. I am so, so sorry. But I, like this courageous young lady will not give up on her !! sounds like some prayers to St. Padre Pio are in order (miraculous healer of cancer patients).

Confession is good for the soul. Listen up: it's confession time!!! (Hey, I am Catholic!) Y'all know I am retiring. So today I call to make MANY doctors' appointments to get things in order before the big day. Soon I will post a "cool photo" of what will be. These are the appointments I made for TOMORROW:

#1 is an appointment to check out all those "things" that happen to old skin: blotches, red "things," and brown "things." They are going to be removed by the dermatologist tomorrow.

# 2: I have to check in on my bone density scan.

#3: I have to get something for my sinus infection. It is full-blown, with pain in the jaws, no smell (thus, no taste) and a horrible headache.

#4: An appointment with my eye doctor to get my eyelids lifted. It is starting to interfere with my vision.

Sorry to the guys on this forum, but TOO BAD!!!:

Then, later in the month/year, I have an appointment to get a "bladder tuck," plastic surgery to "lift" my face and get rid of the infamous "wattle," and surgery to take care of my varicose veins.

Do any of you have any other suggestions??? (I am SERIOUS!!!)

I am sure this is TMI!!!

But we love you the way you are ... sincerely we do.

Hugs to those who are dealing with the loss of one close to them

may those who feel sick, get better quick

those who need a job be soon employed

if you are cold, get warm...to hot get cool

and for all the rest may you be blessed knowing that all is well in your little part of the world!!

Well said! I'm saving this somewhere ... it should be the anthem of the Countdown!

Thanks for all the prayers and kind words for my brother's girlfriend.

She IS a fighter if she's in good spirits after all that! It takes a fighter and great spirits to get through chemo---sounds like she can take it on and win! Please keep us posted.

Good Day everyone! just another day in paradise over here. I am at 14 days left and running out of stuff to do so I have more time to spend on downtime. I spoke to my gf back home and the temps are still in the mid to upper 90's for highs through the next 2 weeks! BUt that is why I never decorate my home for fall and halloween until october when It <usually> gets cooler. Everyone here knows I am a weather nut so bear with me here. I am looking at long range forecasts and it's looks like we are in moderate La Nino, which typically means dryer warmer fall winter for the southeast....but not always last year was a moderate one and we were way below normal that is until mid feb.when spring came (for us in the Southeast). We had stronger cold fronts coming through which kept breaking down the southeast ridge..this year the southeast ridge could maybe not get broken down and we could have a way above average fall winter!! sorry northeast and midatlantic I dont know how it will affect you guys...I was too busy hypervintilating over my forecast!:( anyhow too early to tell yet anyway! I have been reading and catching up...I hope everyone is doing well! talk to yall later!

Not the news anybody was hoping to hear. All the best to your brother's girlfriend. Her courage and great spirits should do wonders for this fight!

Sorry to hear that Brad. My mother has had an ongoing 10 year fight, involving multiple surgeries, with colon cancer. We have seen the power of prayer and a fighting spirit. We will continue to pray for your brother's girlfriend.
