Word of warning to anyone with small children.

My granddaughter had to go to the hospital last night because a tv set fell on her. She is ok and very silly and happy today! THANK GOD!

My 2 year old granddaughter tried to climb up a dresser in her brother's room to turn on the tv and it came down on her pinning her leg down. It also caught her eye which is swelled up today. It happened so fast, her dad was in the same room with her picking clothes up to be washed.

My daughter was crying last night and said they thought that tv was stable enough on the dresser. She said the tv is sitting on the floor now! She also checked all over the house for anything else that needed to be anchored or moved.

I did not sleep well at all last night thinking what "could" have happened. It's so good to see her today happy and smiling!

Please!!! If anyone has one of those old tv sets on something unstable remove it and keep it on the floor! Kids can die from this and my granddaughter is VERY LUCKY! When my kids were little their tv stayed on the floor because I feared this very same thing.

Oooo. The Yorktowne looks gorgeous!!!

...
Travis and I also went to visit a second ceremony/reception venue Monday. It was a great place, very modern and unique, but at $135/plate, it was just SO far off from our budget. We went back to the first place we visited today and brought along both sets of parents. We were afraid that the price ($67.50/plate) would still be a little high for them, but everyone loved it and we think we're going to book it. It's...surreal to think we're actually going to book a place to get MARRIED!!! We still have a week to think it over, but we're almost positive this is what we're going to do. Especially since the parents are all on board...it just makes it so much easier! We don't even know yet if we're going to have any financial help. but we can afford it so I guess that's all that matters, right? :) If anyone wants to see what it looks like, here's the website: http://yorktowne.com :)

Time for bed - goodnight everyone!

This cracked me up!! LOL!

...I CANT HANDLE NEEDLES. should have known better..
The 1st time i fainted.. the 2nd time i fainted.. the 3rd time the guy doing it wont not do any more.
So now i have a heart on the back of my neck well between my shoulders actually that is half filled in with a kinda design round it. people ask me what it is. i just say that i will colour the rest in when i meet someone that takes my heart away.(load of crap but i have to say something)

Christmas-a-holic, I am SO GLAD your granddaughter is OK! Thanks for sharing your story, it's a reminder to anyone who has young children in their lives to do a safety check for this type of hazard.

Oh, yes. With the before and after pics plus a name tag, you will know me. Plus you know those old rolled down hose that old teachers tend to wear!!! My face looks HORRIBLE today, but if the kiddos are not nice, I just might scare them on purpose!!!

Wowee! That's a lot of doctors visits! With all that plastic surgery and hair-fixin's, are we going to recognize you at the Pines?!?

Just kidding! I hope you're feeling better this morning!

Good evening, MMC! Hope everyone had a great day and had a great day at the Pines! I started cleaning the house today and decorating for fall. I need to finish tomorrow. Elexis (my daughter) turns 2 tomorrow. I can't believe it. It justs seems like she was born yesterday. She's growing up wayyyy to fast. Well, I'm going to keep reading the forums. Hope everyone has a great rest of their evening. "Talk" to you all tomorrow!

Happy B-day to her!

Good evening, Christmas friends. I had to leave early for my first of four appointments today. Speaking of tatoos, I felt like I got a LOT of them today at my first appointment. The dermatologist zapped LOTS of benign thingies on my face. I thought I was really going to cry. About half were zapped with heat that felt like bacon grease splattering on my face, only splattering at great length. Then the other half were zapped through cryosurgery: quick-freezing with liquid nitrogen. Talk about PAIN!!! If tatoos feel like that, then I am not getting one!!! Oh, wait. I wasn't going to get one anyway! After that, I went to another doctor about my cold/sinus infection. My head is still bursting, but at least I am on antibiotics now. Then I went to the eye doctor who set up surgery for my eyelids. That should happen pretty soon. Then I went to the plastic surgeon to set up a face-tightening, wattle-removing surgery for December 14. I have to be out of school that whole week, plus another week of recuperating. Then, on my way to pick up the antibiotics, I stopped by my hair dresser's to set up an appointment to get my hair colored. Okay, now what is new with y'all???

Maybe we should call you BionicSeawaters for awhile. cheesy

Thinking of her. It is so hard when a little one is hurt.

Good morning, Christmas friends. It will be hot again today, but what else is new? Just what I like--sweating on my face with lots of blotches that will sting like all get-out! Plus, we have a dinner reception-meeting tonight. I guess if I wear a multi-colored top, I will just be one big blob and no one will notice the face. I have to go take a antibiotic for the sinus infection, then it's off to school for me. Have a GREAT day, everyone!

Good morning,

I nearly got 10 hours of sleep last night, plus the 3 hour nap in the morning, and a few catnaps throughout the day yesterday, I may have approached Crown for the amount of sleep in one day. I rarely get 7 hours of sleep a night so this is all new to me. I still feel blah, but just trying to relax and take it easy today. Hopefully I can get back to work tomorrow, I hate calling out especially when the weekend order is due, I hope someone picked up the slack and placed the order. 10 more days until Kmart and Sears have their decor up (according to the paper) I can't wait to see it all, I love Kmart's decorations.

Have a great day!

I woke up to a delightfully chilly, fall-like morning with a slight mist of rain and wind blowing the leaves all around. I Love it! Makes me think of Christmas shopping! :busy:

York. Grew up in Spring Grove, but fiance and I now live in York

Happy birthday to Elexis tomorrow!!!

I've never been to York before. I'm sure it's nice there. Thank you. She's already enjoying the day!

Good morning, everyone!

Happy last three digit day of the Christmas Countdown! We passed 100 Days to the Christmas Season 41 Days ago, and now, we are set to say farewell to the 100s in the Days to Christmas Day count. So exciting!!

Not a whole lot is going on here. I have to head into my summer job for a final report today. It should take a few hours and I am getting paid for it. It's not much, but it is money, at least. My other plans for today are to go to the gym after work and then attend a concert this evening.

For the concert, I am going to see a favourite band of mine that I have not seen in six years! I am quite excited. During a period of 2001 - 2005, I had seen The Planet Smashers (name of the band) more than 20 times! They are from Montreal, but every time they played within an hour of Kitchener - where I studied Journalism in college - I attended their show. None of you have probably heard of the band, but they are a catchy and fun ska band from Montreal. Really, it is the music that most influenced me in the late 90s.

Anyway, my friend and I should have a great time at the concert tonight! Not a whole lot going on in other news. Still job searching. Apparently nobody wants to hire an unemployed teacher!

Fall has almost officially arrived here in Ottawa. The temperature this morning was 11C! That's about 52F. Chilly!! Fall is less than a week away, so I guess it is only going to get chillier from here out. I don't mind though... And, I'm sure that nobody else here does, too! Soon, we'll be marvelling in our own Winter Wonderlands!

Have a great morning, everyone! Two more work days and then it is the weekend!!

Greetings all! I hope everyone is doing well and to those who aren't - I hope you're better soon!!!

I went dress shopping yesterday and today and found some amazing dresses. Too bad they are all a bit out of my price range (especially the ones today, unfortunately they are the first two dresses that I've used the word "love" toward...sigh). So the search continues!

Congrats! That is great news! It just seems like I got married yesterday! We actually watched our wedding video Sunday night after getting home from the wedding we went to this wedding because we had so much fun and wanted to see how much everyone has changed over 3 years. It was truly amazing to see it and a blast to watch. That is one word off advice I will give you - make sure you get a videographer. You will never regret having a wedding video!

If you were a lot nicer to your pillow, you might sleep better!!!

See I knew you had GREAT suggestions - I think tonight I will try that approach and I'll let ya'll know how it works!!!

You are a hoot!!!! Thanks for the cheer!!!

Good morning, everyone!
It's a little above 50 degrees here today. It's really weird, because just a week ago we were in the 80s! Fall is definitely in the air :)
Have a good day!
