Undertakr--Sorry to hear they didn't give you the job ... their loss. Sometimes the reason is really petty. Years ago I came up second-best after a couple interviews and asked them what the deciding factor was. They said the winning candidate was "more bubbly." Honest---their words! I didn't know that being "bubbly" was an asset for a proofreader.

Good for you! Same thing happened at my office today. They didn't want to be conventional and say it was for Columbus Day, so they said it's in observance of Leif Erickson Day, which falls on Sunday.

Thanks to everyone for their kinds words and prayers. We just got home from the vet a short while ago. Ella does have a tumor, but it's a benign! Praise be to God! The vet aspirated it and he was able to tell. He said there is nothing to worry about with it right now, unless it gets too big, then he will remove it. Thanks everyone again!

Hi everyone! Hope you're all having a great day! My DH let me sleep in this am. I was up at 3:30 and 6:30 with the baby last night since he was at work and with only getting 2 hours of sleep the previous day, I was pretty tired. What a great husband I have. Well for the great news...Ella does have a tumor, but it's BENIGN! Thanks be to God! There is nothing we have to do about it, unless it keeps growing and then he will take it off for her. The vet said she will probably keep getting them the older she gets. At some point too, possibly, they could get malignant. Golden Retriever's are the #1 dogs for cancer, which I knew, but I still don't like hearing it. Oh well, for now, I am just glad she is doing okay! Hope you all have a great evening - I will back on later!

I know the History, but how do you get there from here??? I am not 100% PC savvy, so please don't everyone laugh... I am already blushing!!!!

Well the Pines is kind of like the North Pole. There's no map to get there. You just have to close your eye's and believe.

Well my Niece just got done with her second infusion and it's not looking good. As soon as they stopped the IV she started getting really dizzy and having chills really bad. Of course the childrens hospital just wheeled her out to the car in a wheelchair and told my sister to follow up with her regualr doctor if she's not better in a couple of hours.

Thanks Friend!!! It's my niece in seattle so I'm feeling pretty helpless myself. I just wish my sister would move back. We have 2 childrens hospitals here in Indy unlike Seattle where there's only 1. I think she is just about to say forget it and start driving down to Portland to see if their hospital is any better.

Oh Made...I feel so bad for her and your sister. I'm sure you do feel helpless. I feel the same just sitting here. I think that's crazy they just release her fro the hospital when she is having symptoms. Seems like sometimes one just wants to pass it off to the other. Hopefully they will soon find a better care if they go to the other children's hospital. I will send a prayer now!

Hello everybody. Just popping in for a rare visit. I come on here when i can, since i have been very busy lately. Good to see that everybody on here is in a good mood and filled with Christmas joy. We are thinking about getting a new Christmas tree, since our old one is falling apart. Out with the old and in with the new they say. Finally, we can put more decorations on the tree with a fresh, new one. The local shops have Christmas decorations out, so when the time has come, i will let my parents take a break for the day and by some fresh, new decorations and fill the house with Christmas joy. Made - I'm so sorry to hear about your niece, but I am livid about the hospital just wheeling her out and telling you to go elsewhere. What kind of hospital is that?! I hope you can find her some help eventually, I will be thinking of her.

Undrtakr - I'm sorry to hear about the job. That just means there is something better out there for you!!

I have spent the last two nights working at Hallmark and prepping for this weekend. All of the Christmas cards are out (individual ones, not quite done with the boxed ones) and I have been in the Christmas spirit the whole time! Of course, I have had nearly every customer complaining about us having Christmas stuff out "when it isn't even Halloween yet! Don't you guys wanna celebrate one holiday at a time?" In fact, every time I heard someone say it, for some reason instead of getting upset, it would put me even more in the spirit. I would just tell them how much I loved Christmas, couldn't wait for our store to start playing the Christmas CDs...and then they would look at me like I had two heads. Sigh. Some people just don't get it!

I know I had more to say, but I just can't think of it right now. I've been going and going like crazy and haven't been sleeping well, so I'm hoping that changes soon. Take care everyone, and have a (few) drink(s) for me at the Pines!

I had to skip the Pines tonight, just to tired. We will probably get our first frost tonight, since we are already in the 30's. I have the thermostat set to turn on if it gets too chilly, so our heat may turn on for the first time this season. A well earned day off tomorrow, my body is so sore and tired from work, I may hang some Halloween lights to finish our Halloween decorations. My Boston Bruins 1st game of the season is on tomorrow night, I cannot wait to watch the Championship banner gets raised.
