Catching up with everyone / Update on The Christmas Angel
Hi everyone... So the bake sale is sent, and yes Seawaters it appears I will be making whoopie again!!! Whoopie Pies that is, Red velvet whoopie pies with vanilla and peppermint filling!!!:!!
We are also having an Octoberfest too, so maybe we will have some German apple deserts too....
We have held the auditions, (everybody gets a part though) and the Angel is being played by I believe six different children and we have 4 understudies. The main person character who is called Miss. Terry will also be played by eight different children, other characters will also be different children, to give as many as we can a chance. This works really well, years ago, it had been said that the same children had the same parts and it made quite an issue. Well, needless to say the kids are always happy just being able to help. So, we have asked the members to come and help build "the set". We have had a lot of interest this year and I think it is because no-one had heard of this story, and then I tell them where I heard about it and a few people have come and asked me about this website, I am keeping a watchful eye on new membership lately!!! Tee Hee!!!
With the approval of the church members my pastor is going to ask everyone if I can invite the youth group and have them participate. I think them getting involved and helping with a project like this might "soften" their views on people in general. I had been on vacation and well I missed one session and when I was back with them on Monday, they were like oh we didn't think you'd come back!?!?! Kind of sad really, but I can completely understand them, when you hear what family is suppose to be like and then you see what you have it can be a bitter pill to shallow. I just try and focus on positive, I tell them if I can do it you can too, it is choice, and it isn't easy. You have a choice, you can be that one who turns your life around, and I tell them flat out, you have to want it because there will be no support system like others will have, but as you keep going further your support system will grow, and while it may not be the conventional system of Mom, Dad, Sibs, it may be someone like me, a teacher, or prof., a friend, and soon you will have a family made out of all of these, family is what you make of it. I start each group that way, every meeting we tell each other that. I won't lie I have never heard from a lot of them after they were done with the sessions, but I have a few that have "gotten out", I speak with them, one is even a team leader now too. It is rewarding to know that I have helped and I often try to focus that this is the reason I never had children of my own, that this is what I was to do, help children who didn't have a mom or dad they could go too.
OK so a long one today. Sorry thanks for "reading".:witch:
