Christmas Countdown - 2011

Good evening, Christmas family!

It has been one long day today. Got some bad news from my brother yesterday and I have been trying to get my mind around that and then I had another one of those horrible headaches I've been getting of late. Headache is mostly gone now, but after I log inventory I am still going to take things easy for the rest of the day. I've been reading the Chet and Bernie mysteries - if you love dogs and mysteries, I highly recommend these books!

I did get to the thrift store this morning and was the first person inside. They had a lot of Christmas items out, but I didn't get all that much. I found some AVON/Disney Christmas Carol ornaments and a couple of cardinal (my college mascot) and snowman ornaments that I couldn't pass up. I was hoping to find some long, skinny trees, but they didn't have any out yet. The man in charge said there were a lot of items to put out yet, so I will check back on Tuesday. All in all, it was a fun outing!:???:

My mom in Law came home Thursday and is settled in at her house and when I spoke to her yesterday she was doing ok, in some discomfort and has a cough if she talks too much, but overall ok.
My cold seemed to be going away then this morning it came back with a nasty vengance (guess it did not like what I threw at it).

I hope you both feel better soon!!!!!!

Hey Made. Have you heard any news or updates on Manning? It'd be sad if he never plays again. Weren't the doctors supposed to give him an update pretty soon on if it's healing?

He talked to the media the other day and said that he has been cleared to come down to the sideline this week instead of just in booth. He also thinks that he will be ready to play before the end of the season. He said that he would understand if they moved him to IR though to make room on the active roster since we have had so many injuries in the last couple of games. With the way the season has started I say let him take the year off so he'll be ready to go next year. Of course if we get on a roll and start winning some games I may change my mind.

Good Morning Everyone!!!!!! It is a chilly morning here in central Indy but we are headed for the mid 80's this afternoon. I am gettting ready to head out to my sisters house and then over to the fall festival. I'm thinking a deep fried milky way for breakfast sounds good. I am ready to start decorating for Christmas. Hubby says I have to wait for a few more weeks, though. LOL! I saw some very cute decorations that I plan on buying. I am so excited.

I have to leave in a few minutes, but I went to Lowe's on my lunch break, and they were LOADED with Christmas decorations, I loved it, I didn't want to leave. When I got home the local CW channel had and it is still on as I type: Christmas With the Kranks. I love how it is on TV already.

Well I am exhausted!!!!! I had a great time but was kind of disappointed with the booths this year. The fair board said they were trying to get a better selection of vendors but it seemed to be a lot of jewelry, candles, and purses. So hopefully their screening process is a little better next year because I miss all of the homemade stuff. The parade was fun. My youngest niece had fun collecting all of the candy that everyone was throwing. A note to BradMac- the people around me were keeping track of which political candidates ran out of candy. They said that if they couldn't figure out how much candy to bring they couldn't trust them to figure out anything else. Well I'm going to go rest my tired feet.

Hello all! Checking in for the evening. I worked last night and got off at 7:30. Right after work, we headed to a fall festival and I bought some more fall and Christmas decorations. We got home around 11, so I slept until about 6. My DH took our kids up my inlaws, so I took advantage of sleeping, especially since I had been up for over 24 hours - I needed the sleep. I go back to work at 11 tonight. I need to back some gingerbread - my supervisor's birthday is next week, so we're taking in food for our break tonight. Well, hope everyone is having a great day. I am off tomorrow - plan to just relax with my husband and the kids - I think I am going to make a broccoli and cheese soup and some pumpkin muffins tomorrow. Have a great evening everyone! :

still feeling pretty awful, looks like another sleepless night with this flu but at least the polar express cheered me up a little today got me right in the mood but reminded me of the Christmas day about 3years ago when I spent near enough the whole season in bed with the flu bug. Hopefully I don't ever have a repeat of that

2 pumpkin cheese cakes in the oven. One is for our family dinner on Monday, the other is for the family who just lost a son I was telling you about earlier.

I have a few more things to make for the family dinner, but they are all partially made, so should not take to long to put together.

Hard to believe it's Canadian Turkey Day long Weekend already!!

And with the weather calling for big blue skies and over 70 degrees, it doesn't make you think about Xmas much, at least not yet but that will come soon enough.

Off to a family supper in the mountains where the trees will be all colorful.

Am new to the site (and to the thread) but am a big fan of coffee over tea (sorry Crown). This is my favorite thread on the site though. Can you believe it seems like yesterday that we were in Jan/Feb counting down and now we're in October? Scary...but way exciting.

Welcome Edge! I love coffee too, however I usually don't drink much of it till the weather gets colder, then I turn into a coffee addict until the weather gets warm and then I drink iced tea. Not a fan of warm drinks when its hot out, but coffee and winter go together perfectly!

Hope everyone is having a great Saturday, I been kinda having a lazy day, one of the first Saturdays in a very long time I have not been stressed out and had a million things to do, I had a plan to get some work done today but then I decided to just veg out most of the day and watched sports and chilled out.
