Good afternoon Christmas friends! Been so busy. Had a stomach bug over the weekend and Im finally starting to feel better. My Birthday is Thursday and we are getting steamed crabs this weekend yum yum! Gosh I love this time of the year . I hope everyone is well! I have a lot of catching up to do on all of these posts!
It seems that there are a lot of October birthdays; mine is this coming Monday. I'll be hitting 50, so we'll be going out to dinner. Gee, maybe at that age I should be eating dessert first.
Happy Thanksgiving, Canada!
We're having a little Thanksgiving here of our own---our anniversary! The day we were married was very much like this: a Columbus Day Monday, with bright sunshine, blue skies, and changing leaves. I say it's like Thanksgiving because we're as happy as ever and still enjoy each other's company best of all.
Happy Belated Anniversary!!!
When you see the list of threads, you should see a little tiny diamond-shaped thingie to the left of the thread name. Click directly on that, and it'll take you to the first post made after you last logged out.
Thanks for the info... PS I love the tech term thingie, made me giggle I love that!!!
Very nice interview, Made!
Awesome interview with Santa made! Really enjoyed reading that and feel much better after reading Santa's wisdom on issues going on in the world today.
Uh oh!! We have another coff-aholic!!! Hahahah. I just realized I never welcomed you here, tsk tsk bad britt!! So welcome to the boards edge
Good Morning, Christmas friends!!
And a special Happy Thanksgiving to all of our Canadian friends!
It's catch up time here for me.
My husband came home over the weekend from a business trip, so we spent a lot of time together![]()
The weather was beautiful all weekend, right around 70 degrees & sunny. It was great to open the house up & get some fresh air inside.
We listened to Holiday Switch & A Hollywood Christmas while picking up the house & then I baked some sugar cookies. Can't believe we're already down to 75 days!! Yay!
I went to Marshall's yesterday, and found a few cute Christmassy things to buy. I bought some sweet snowman plates & a Christmas tree spoon rest. I also found a cute sign that reads "We still believe" that has Santa's belt going across it, with sparkly stars in the sky. Oh, and I bought a dog sign that says God is Dog spelled backwards, with pawprints walking across it.
My Packers won yesterday, so I was happy! The first half of the game was questionable- the Falcons definitely dominated it. But we came back! The husband's Bears are on tonight. We'll have to see how they do..
Harlowe had kind of a rough Sunday- was shaking a bit & didn't want to do anything but rest. Felt so bad for her. But, by evening, she was doing better. She finally ate, went on a walk, and played with the neighbor dog. Maybe it's just the meds being new again. I'm going to keep her on the probiotics for a bit, they seem to really help her stomach.
I've been trying to figure out where to put my Christmas village this year. We usually use the kitchen table for a large portion of it (we just eat @ the breakfast bar since it's just the two of us mostly)but my parents will be here this year (so excited!). We also used some of the counter space in the kitchen, as well as upstairs in the hallway & in our bedroom. I'm thinking of moving around some furniture & buying some of those folding party tables so I can still put out a lot of it. I'm just running out of space, lol! If anybody has any ideas, please share them!
Hope everyone has a beautiful fall day!!

Oh wow! Santa answered my question! Thanks Made- I loved the interview.
Hi everyone! Hope this finds you all well! I was going to start to clean the house today, but DH said to wait until this weekend because he is off too and he said we'll do it together - so nice of him - goes by a heck of a lot quicker with two people! I think I will still wash some clothes today and then have dinner ready when he gets home from work. Anyway, I go back to work tonight at 11. There's not a whole lot going on - I think I will just try to relax for the rest of the day pretty much until dinner time. I don't get to do that too much anymore! I hope everyone is having a great day!
Happy Thanksgiving!
Well here are a few of my purchases from this weekend.
My mom loved this one so I picked him up.
Hello all. New baby girl is here! Her name is Ada, and her two year old sister loves her already!
Really getting in the holiday spirit lately! Three weeks from today and Sounds of the Seasons switches to its all-Christmas format! The Christmas season runs from Nov. 1 through Jan. 6 if you ask me!
Have a great day!
You are not silly or stupid, it is just making you think of the end. I understand the apprehensiveness, it is normal to be when someone makes predictions like that, if it is true, it truly would be because it was God's decision, not because this possible nutcase makes a prediction which he has made a number of times previously and we are still here. I learned after 9/11 to enjoy life and the time you have left and not worry about the things you cannot control.
If it does happen to be the end of the world, we may finally all meet. cheesy
Good afternoon,
Most of my projects around the house have been completed, pick up the kitchen, mow the lawn, take the AC out of the window, put up the storm window in the screen door, set up Halloween outdoor decorations, the Dracula rising out of the coffin inflatable we have is dying, Dracula won't rise. I spent too much time trying to find a hole to no avail, I probably have to throw it away, I lost my chance to put up my Halloween lights outside, because it became time to pick up the boys. Now I have to figure out what to make for dinner.
Enjoy the evening!
Made - Hope your allergies get better !!! xo

Happy early B-day to you also! Do something crazy eat dessert first, have dinner, and eat dessert again! You have earned it!
So I have a question for our friends to the north.....since Thanksgiving officially kicks off the season in late November down here....what does it in Canada? Is it Thanksgiving in October? Or is that way too early? Does something else kick start it a little later on???? Have always wondered that.....
almost forgot...made the interview w/ santa you did was fabulous. you thought of everything!

Today was my first day at my new job! That's right, I actually got that job I had an interview for about three weeks ago! I didn't say much about it afterward as I always feel that I jinx myself. Anyway, I started today with Natural Resources Canada. It was fairly enjoyable. I'm just being brought in, so it was fairly simple. Still, I am excited to be finally making money!!
