Good morning! Happy November!! Happy Thanksgiving month!! YAY! (just remembered I need to close out the books for October...wew, that flew!) I am also glad that Halloween is over - I'm ready to move on to Thanksgiving! And Black Friday! And CHRISTMAS!! :grin:

My mother just called and my cousin is in the hospital. She had been passing out for a couple of days, they ran test on her in the ER and couldn't find what was wrong so they admitted her. She passed out at the hospital last night while she was there. We are going to visit her today. I sure hope they find out what's wrong.

Good November 1st day everyone!
We had about 65 kids last night. They had very good costumes too! It started to drizzle for a bit but stopped. I took William out to several houses. He is almost 3 years old. He dressed up as Winnie the Pooh. Surprised he even knocked on the door and said trick or treat! Two little boys came to the door dressed as tigger and eore. He LOVED that. We watched Its the Great Pumpkin too. I went to bed early because I was just exhausted! I just finished decorating my desk at work for Christmas. Looks great! Ill post some halloween pictures tonight when I get home. Hope everyone is getting in the "mood"! Have a great day all!

Ahhh, Halloween is over! I hate to admit it but I'm not a big Halloween fan. On to Thanksgiving and Christmas! Hope the next 2 months go sloooowly.

Same here. Halloween is just another obstacle to conquer prior to the Christmas Season. With the exception of my time at work, I am also hoping these next two months slow down nicely.

Another cold walk this morning for the dog and me at 41 degrees. At least it is dry and calm.
Should hit close to 60 by this afternoon, then on to the mid to upper 60's later in the week.
Not too bad for early November for these parts.

Good morning, everyone!

As we move from saying Happy Halloween to Happy November, the Countdown toward the Christmas Season is nearing single digits! The weather outside in Ottawa is certainly anything but "frightful," however. We are supposed to reach a high of 11c today (about 52F). In fact, we will be reaching double digit highs until Friday. There isn't even any snow in the 14-day forecast!

Halloween has come and gone. The good part about Halloween is that I put up absolutely no decorations. I don't have to take anything down! I am still waiting upon Kim to inform me when I can put up the Christmas lights! She was out at the community centre (where she works) until yesterday at about 10:30 putting on a haunted house for all the kids. Apparently, they all loved it!

Today is the last day of visiting for my dad. We don't have a whole lot planned except to watch the Bruins game. We'll see what else he wants to do when I return home.

Not much else to say at the moment. Again, happy November! The Merry Season is closing in and the rest of the world will soon be filled with the Christmas Spirit! Have a great Tuesday, everyone!

I heard something on the radio that may solve the problem of excess leftover Halloween candy ... send it to the troops! If you Google "halloween candy soldiers" you'll find several organizations where you can ship your candy, and they will forward it to the troops.

By the way, MerryCarey, I will take that candy. I am running low!

I just got back from handing candy out at my sisters house. She had 115 kids before we finally turned the light off at 8:30. Now I'm going to kick back and watch some of the Ghost Hunters live investigation on SyFy.

How was the Ghost Hunters live event this year? I hit the sack early after we turned off the porch light and didn't check on the Ghost Hunters.

just finished mixing up a batch of gingerbread dough that now needs to rest in the fridge overnight, then in the morning I will start to bake the floors and walls of my gingerbread house for the competition at the end of November.
My house will be 3 stories high, and the theme is tropical Christmas.

I just wanted to stop by and say hello real quick. My job swtiched my hours, only by one hour, but I am so tired. I will be working from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. Mon thru Thurs and 1-9 on Sundays. At least it gets me done with work sooner. They are letting me do radiology again but they adjusted it so you can't make as much money as I was making at first. Oh well..still better than goobers !!!

Once you're out of Gooberville and in Radville, your lines will fly, and maybe they'll improve the money!

Good Tuesday morning, my Christmas friends!

I took my son to his guitar recital last night. He was great! He's always practicing at home, but I'm ashamed to say that I obviously haven't been listening close enough. He's getting good!

I missed trick-or-treating with my daughter, though. Nancy took lots of pictures for me, but I wish the recital had been on another night so i could have been there for both.

We have to go get the StealthCam this evening. It's been running continuously for 4 days now. I bet the batteries are dead, but I hope it got some more good pix!

It's November!

Tomorrow is my favorite sons birthday, we will celebrate it on Saturday when the whole family can get together.

Got the big base for the gingerbread house baked, nice to have the biggest piece finished and turn out right the first time! (12 1/2 inch circle)

helloe everyone! no trick or treaters here tonight. we live pretty far from the street so i don't even think they know there's a house back here.
We didn't get a single one, either! So sad! My husband carved two more pumpkins, and went out & bought orange & black lights for entryway...bummer! I even put Har's witch hat on her, lol =)
ended up hubby & our daughter went & bought a new dryer. we figured it was 10 years old & hubby said once one it tears up, there's always something else. gotta killer deal.... was 399 then on sale for $359 & then hubby found a dent on the side towards the back & we got it for $300!! woo-hoo i needed that!
That's a killer deal! New appliances are the best! Congrats! xo

Hi every one!
Hope all of you had an amazing halloween, it's not really celebrated here... Yesterday we had to hand in the keys to our apartment, in which we have lived for five years. At first, I thought it didn't really matter, since we had been feeling at home in our new house, but then, when we were driving away for the very last time I suddenly felt really sad. We will most certainly miss it... It was really strange... Probably because how happy we've been there, that's a good thing to remember...
I hope all of you will have a lovely day!

Hope you had a nice Halloween, too, kerstig! I can understand you being nostalgic about your apartment. Many great memories were made there! Cherish them always! And look forward to all of the new ones you'll make it your new home!! :-D

NOW ROLL ON CHRISTMAS. sorry to say but the the best part of halloween is when it is over. cause christmas is next..

Has a quiet halloween some kids about but not a lot. not really a big thing over here. and there was a fireworks display very near me. watched it from the back of the house that way i can keep a eye on the parrots and smaller birds as the light and the banging can scare the life out of then.
But overall they were not to bad. some of then just when into the nest boxes and 2 of then hide in a corner. a set of the amazon just sit out and talked and laughted they are used to noise. scooby barked the whole15 minutes in was on.

We're down to 53 days!! Yippee!

I can't believe how time is flying! In a way, I hope it slows down a bit so I can fully take in and enjoy the beauty of the season. I hope to get as much done as possible early on, so I'm not crazed in December.:grin:

I think I'm going to go window shopping on my lunch break, an elf told me that another Christmas shipment just came in @ Marshall's. They have the neatest vintage Christmas stuff! It's also in the same plaza as Ross & Hallmark... *bonus*

I have to take down all of my Halloween decor this weekend, and my mind is already racing with new holiday decorating ideas!

My boss was just telling me that he saw Michael Buble in concert at the Andre Agassi charity event held last weekend. He said he was fabulous! I wish I could've been there to see him. His new Christmas cd is fantastic.

[Christmas-A-Holic]

We just got back from visiting my cousin. The diagnosis was very quick. She has heart problems and her heart even stopped for a short time last night. Today they will be putting in a pacemaker.

I am glad they diagnosed it quickly. I am so use to doctors running tons of test for several weeks before they know what's going on and sometimes they still don't know what's wrong.

I find it sad, she is not even 50, close but not there yet and already having these problems. At least she can recover and move on!

Thanks for your thoughts and prayers. Keep them coming for the recovery process!
