I am so sad.. I cant seem to find any time on the computer these days.. I miss you all.. and hope everyone is doing well.... I cant believe how fast time is going....
I missed nearly 3 weeks on here! I still haven't read what I missed.

Good to see you on and hopefully you can join in full time!
We are in full recovery mode at work, work was closed for 3 days with no power. I have thrown away so much food the last 3 days, including over 3,000lbs of turkeys.
You have had a rough year of bad weather! Thank goodness for Christmas to cheer you up. Also thankful you still have your family and friends!
My sister is coming at 6:15 tomorrow morning to walk & then I am picking up another sister at 8:00 to go to Hobby Lobby! (50 minute drive) We are going for coffee 1st & then I'm hoping to find some Thanksgiving things (discounted :) for the party!!
I thought our Hobby Lobby was a little far, only about 15 minutes. I guess living in a busy city most everything is about 5 minutes away, anything longer than that is kind of far. Ha ha!
Watching Mrs. Miracle right now...who's right there with me?!
I watched it! I was not online at the time though but watched it. Very good movie!
I feel good and better than brandi is, I tell you I am going to be a professional Masseuse by the end of this pregnancy!
Aww.. Poor Brandi. She is lucky to have you take care of her!
Me too!! Here in Holland they have nothing Christmassy on TV. Only one single commercial about Disney Land Paris and their Christmas season! lol!
Welcome to the Countdown! I guess you need a good dose of our forums to be surrounded by Christmas since they are not showing Christmas on tv! cheesy
Thankfully, all I have to do today is go to the supermarket (yes, I have egg nog on the list again) and get a crapload of meds.
I have to drink dairy free eggnog and it's just not the same! Enjoy your eggnog!

I am watching A family Thanksgiving on hallmark..I love thanksgiving movies too! For me growing up us kids loved thanksgiving almost as much as Christmas. We got to see all our cousins who we never got to see any other time of year. And it's like the kickoff of everyone else in the USA besides us Christmas nuts can celebrate and decorate without being scoffed at.:) anyways have a good morning everyone!
I think I still like Thanksgiving as much, if not more, than Christmas. To me, Thanksgiving is the 1st part of Christmas and the luxury is, it's not OVER YET, it's just the beginning!

On Thanksgiving Day my whole house is decorated for Christmas, the parade is on, family is over, Dallas Cowboys on later in the day, Christmas is on tv, playing games with the family, then the next day is FULL of Christmas activities all day long! Then we come home to chill out and watch a bunch of Christmas shows and movies. We also have a month long of Christmas fun until the big day!

Ahhhhh! I cannot wait!!!! :???:

Good Morning Everyone!!!!!!!!!! It's going to be a pretty decent day here in central Indy with a high in the mid 60's. I have some errands to run this morning and then I have to babysit for awhile. Then it will be back home to watch more christmas movies on hallmark. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

good morning ya'll!
xmas i'm sorry to hear about everything ya'll had to endure but i'm so happy ya'll are safe now.
gabulldawg i'm sorry your wife has had to go through so much w/ this pregnancy. bless her heart. it does sound like you're taking great care of her though. god bless your little family.
mschristmas i'm praying for you too & hoping you have a quick-fast-& in a hurry recovery.
sitting here drinking my 1st cup'a joe. let the doggies out, fed them, loved on them....
as i said last night, gotta lot planned to do today around the house & outside.
ya'll have a great saturday!!:???:

I finally watched, Mrs. Miracle, on Hallmark all the way through last night and really enjoyed it! According the IMBd it got only a 6.2 star rating out of 10. If you are not familiar with the site it is not just critics who rate the movies but everyone gets to rate them.

I have seen a lot of made for tv Christmas movies rate low on there. I think for a lot of people they think Christmas movies are silly and unrealistic. For me, I expect Christmas movies to be complete fantasy of magical "unrealistic" endings! I love the miracle and complete over exaggerated joy the people have in Christmas movies! I guess some would say are "cheezy" movies! Those kind of endings don't fly with me in other movies but for Christmas, it's the only way to go!!!

I give Mrs. Miracle 8 stars out of 10!

I fell asleep during, Call Me Mrs. Miracle, but ready to watch it all the way through next time it's on!

(I have to misspell "cheezy". If you spell it right you get this emoticon "cheesy". Ha ha!)

I LOVE Christmas movies !! I think part of the wonder of Christmas is the fantasy of it !!! xo One of my favorites on Hallmark is The Christmas Visitor about a couple who lost their son in the military and would not celebrate Christmas for 10 years .....It is so touching....I also love The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year......xo !!!

I forget the exact term but Has anyone heard of the alleged condition some men have when thier partner is pregnant I think it's called sympathy pains..I kinda believe in it..last year I watched all the Mrs miracles and thought the first one was good the second one was okay too,but last night I found myself getting chocked up in parts...meanwhile Brandi is crying at the end. And I dont even remember it being sad last year! I am taking a break right now from hallamrk for an hour or two and trying to wake up...the thing about not sleeping good at night it's a cycle of hell. You are tired all day and it completly wiped out and every night you don't sleep the days get worse. I have tried sleep aids over the counter and they don't work and really make me feel groggy the next day And rx sleep aids made me 'high' to where I would see things that were not there and I would even start cleaning the house in the middle of the night! Luckily this usually does not last forever and I will eventually get sleep and feel so renewed when I wake up!

I teared up at the end too and I'm not pregnant or around anyone who is. He he!

You probably have that "sympathy pain" syndrome!

Yes I loved the most wonderful time of year too!! I can't watch the Christmas visitor way too emotional for me...I forget the name of one particular one I saw a few years ago about a son who works in a toy store and still lives at home to take care of his elderly parents and he meets a new executive that comes in to save the store and make more $$$ during the holidays of course they hate each other at first but fall in love ...I have not seen it in a few years...oh and Eve's christmas is great too It comes on tonight I think.!

Good Morning MMC!

A beautiful morning here, chilly at -1c but going up to 10 today. Want to finish up the yard work.

Already got a batch of golden gingerbread and chocolate gingerbread dough mixed and chilling. I want to get my gingerbread house all baked by the end of the day. I only have 25 days left to get it all done, less actually because I also have to work.
Got a big pan of soup stock simmering on the stove and laundry in the machine.

Now to get busy changing around the living room. Where I have the shelf unit they decided to put in a new computerised thermostat. We cannot have anything in front of it, thus I need to move the thing! Just when I had the room all set up for Christmas.

Have agreat weekend everyone!!!

Yes that is exactly what I mean too! You get the same food, same family(hopefully) and you still get the luxury of looking forward to Christmas...no post christmas blues like we get!!! you said it perfectly!:snowball:

oh no guys, guess what? i asked hubby to find the hallmark channel as we not long ago got "dish" installed & i don't know all the channels yet, & we don't get it! i could just cry. i could've swore that was one of the channels we get when we were getting it installed because i even said to hubby oh yaay i'll get to watch Christmas movies this year. this is a total bummer for me. boo-hoo-hoo:-o

GOOD MORNING!

.....Mr. got a bunch of DVDs off eBay of various 1950s-'60s variety shows. We pulled one out at random this evening of "Sing Along with Mitch." It turned out to be a Christmas show. It reminded me that my dad had once mentioned a Mitch Miller show he had seen years ago in which Leslie Uggams sang a beautiful version of "Mary's Boy Child." It moved me to find the sheet music, and I sang it in a high school concert one year. I remarked that it would be wild if this were that same show he had mentioned. And it was! What are the odds of that happening?? What an incredible coincidence that was.....
What luck!
And the Mitch Miller group recorded 2 wonderful Christmas albums in the early 1960's: "Christmas Sing-Along With Mitch" and "Holiday Sing-Along With Mitch".
If you like arrow-straight Christmas songs by a harmonious male vocal group, these are must-have albums. Well worth the purchase.
I have both and play them every year!

OK.
Onward with our count (which is slowly dwindling down into a bedpost):
Days to the Season: 8 (ONE WEEK from tomorrow!!)
Days To Thanksgiving Day: 19 (Wow! Under 20! Doesn't that first "1" digit look nice!)
Days to Christmas Day: 50 (SEVEN weeks from tomorrow!)

A bit chilly here this morning, but sunny.
We stand at 45 degrees currently, headed for the mid 60's by this afternoon.
And no rain predicted for the weekend. Great!

Allrighty!
May each and every one of you have a Sensational Saturday and a Wonderous Weekend in the spirit of the Christmas Season.
Keep that Christmas song in your heart!

I am almost positive my dad use to play those albums every year! I am going to ask him today about that.

Good morning! I hope this finds everyone well!!! I am behind on everything again, as usual. When I talked to my cousin yesterday, she sounded so down that I suggested a day of Christmas Spirit restoration was in order so I shelved all of my work plans and we went out. We went to the Hallmark Open House and a library book sale where they were putting out their Christmas items. Not much left on the Christmas table after I was through - I got several Christmas romance books, cookbooks and craft books. My cousin, who is not quite as into Christmas as I am, found a few things, too. All in all, a good day and to top it off, she was smiling when she got home! Yay!!!!

I will catch up on the Countdown after work - I am doing a double shift today to make up for yesterday. Have a most MERRY day!!!!

Upgrade if possible..I had the premium package then went down to the lowest to save money but then I did not get jack squat...so I got the middle package and specifically asked them for the package that had Fox news and Hallmark and ID channel...it's only a few bucks more but well worth it..!
