Good morning,

Great post ChristmasStar!

Just eating breakfast before I head out to do some errands and start decorating. The boys are at school, and it is tempting to go back to sleep, but got to keep the eye on the prize. cheesy

Brent-looks like the Bruins have turned it around, hopefully your Kings will soon also.

Have a Christmassy day!

Just stopping in to say hi to everyone. I was on vacation last week and tried to stay offline. Just decompressing and staycationing at home. Now I'm back at work and keeping a positive attitude.

It really is the best time of the year. I wish it would slow down and last forever even though I know it cannot.

Welcome back!

My neighbor just sent me an email wondering when my outside Christmas lights are going up. She said she is has been thinking about it and can't wait to see them. I am glad that we make our neighbor happy by putting out the decorations and lights. =)

We don't have anything extravagant but on our side of the block no one decorates except us.

Good afternoon all!

Sunday I was putting the lights on the house. My neighbor said "Already?" and I responded with "Sorry I'm late" haha. Everything is up. Tree needs lights a decorations and then its done! Taking the van in for its monthly repairs. Sheesh. Door knob is breaking on the front door, car is making a metal on metal sound and now the dishwasher broke! Woo. Has to get better from here HAHA. But other then that Im having a good day. Hope everyone else has one too!

PS William has added some figures to our Christmas village. Toy story characters..haha

Special Post Day 5

“Faith is believing when common sense tells you not to!”
quote from Miracle on 34th Street

To me, this is what the season is all about, faith.
We must have faith that each season will bring renewed hope for a better year.

Horrible things are going on in the world, wars; famine and earthquakes top the news far to often.
We worry about our health; finances; family and jobs.

But for one brief moment in time we can focus on something greater than ourselves.

We set aside what troubles us and peek into a barn at a baby asleep on the hay and marvel that the creator of the universe would humble Himself in this way.

Bright lights, decorated trees and fancy ornaments adorn our streets and homes

Strangers…who are actually talking to each other, are heard proclaiming
“Merry Christmas!”

People are seen sneaking around and hiding things.

Our kids seem to need very little sleep this time of the year and keep watching the sky to see if reindeer really know how to fly.
.
So when those with no Christmas spirit, tell you it’s to soon, to commercial, to noisy, to bright, to wasteful….
Just smile at them and give them a bit of your faith in what you know the season is about to bring!

Oh Christmasstar......Thank you. I am quite weepy now but in a good way. Blessings and (((HUGS))) to you xoxo

.....Only five more days until the Season! And, one more day until Binger marvels us all with his very own special post!....
Their, their now, Brent.
Gotta watch those gender words.

Has anyone heard from Neal (gabulldawg)? I'm starting to get a bit worried. I hope his parents are alright but I'm beginning to fear the worst. :-(

Oops! its special post! My apologies to Binger. Thank you for the correction, Crown!

They certainly have. It was re-assuring to watch. Great to see Tuuka finally get some goal support last night. I am hoping the Kings can do it tonight. They looked great in the first period last night, but they couldn't score. At the moment, they are lacking confidence. Need a few bounces to get the back to firing on all cylinders.

My neighbor wrote back and said she might go digging in her attic and get some lawn decorations and Christmas lights out. We have lived here 8 years and they have never decorated. I offered to help them if needed. I have been wanting someone else besides us to decorate. The more lights on the block the BETTER!!! :transform:

Excellent thoughts, Christmasstar. Your post was the first present I have received this Christmas Season. Thanks.

Does that mean you would be able to read all the postcards before the recipients??? Haha!

Good Tuesday morning, my Christmas friends!

We had a widely-attended city council meeting last night to discuss our little post office. The USPS is planning to close it at the end of the year, and they just told us about it last week. After some research, we found that the USPS might support what known as a "Village Post Office". USPS allows a local business (in this case, my father-in-law) to maintain the post office, and the local route carrier would be responsible for sorting the mail every morning. There would be fewer services; no specialty shipping. Stamps and "If It Fits, It Ships" boxes only. But at least we'd be able to keep our mailing addresses and our zip code. I think it'll work.

We're also making plans to start putting up the Christmas banners and pole lights in town. Exciting!

I hope y'all have a great day! cheesy
