I hope so, for your sake. Do you know if there is anywhere that I can research to find any places in my area playing Christmas music on the radio? My direct tv isn't even playing it yet. :x I don't know when they will change over either.

We're not Mayberry, NC, but it's pretty close to it. Probably half the town meets to shoot the breeze in front of the post office while getting their mail, especially on Saturday morning. I love a small town!

And, yes, I'm ready to get the banners and lights up, too! We're meeting Saturday to check the lights and get all the bulbs working before we have them put on the poles. It sounds like work, but I love it!

Small towns are great. You don't need to use a turn signal since everyone already knows where you are going.

Hello everyone. I have tons to catch up on AGAIN! Had my surgery last Wednesday, that went great but I was allergic to the antibotic they had put in my IV. I broke out into hives so bad my face, neck, chest , nose, eyes were very swollen.. had to go to urgent care that night and get a benadryl shot as well as steroid shot (in my butt..and I hate needles =0( ... they also gave me the epi pen in case my throat started to close up.. now Im on steroids for 12 days.. not liking the side effects, having trouble sleeping, very increased appetite, very hyper.. anyways cant wait to get back to myself. I hope everyone is doing well. I will try to be back on here again soon Christmas friends

My neighbor wrote back and said she might go digging in her attic and get some lawn decorations and Christmas lights out. We have lived here 8 years and they have never decorated. I offered to help them if needed. I have been wanting someone else besides us to decorate. The more lights on the block the BETTER!!! :transform:

I am just catching up from last week, and this is truly upsetting I cannot even begin to say how worried I am for him and his family. It almost seems as though we all get to really know each other I know we o not actually speak or see each other but it doesn't make it any less a feeling of being a friend. I am getting kind of anxious about Saturday and (hopefully) the arrival of my new furkid, Lola. Even though I have raised many furchildren, I am always nervous when a new one comes into my life.....I just want to be a good pet parent for her......My sister saw her and I guess she only weighs like 5 pounds and is 4 months old......I know my older guys will love her and my Chihuhua, Ivy, who is older wil be so happy because there is a "new kid" to boss around !! xo

I am planning on putting up my nativity scene Friday......I have a lot more animals to find room for !! xo

Just sitting here, having my coffee, and catching up before I need to start getting ready for work. Hope Tuesday has been good to you so far!

Our house is the only one on our block to have Christmas lights up, we're probably being labeled the crazy ones! Ha! Love it! :smile:

It's going to be another busy day at work, there's only the project manager & myself working on the administrative end of things, and it's a government job, so that means tons of paperwork & red tape. But, it's a great job, and it'll probably bring more projects in the long run, so I just try to stay positive about it all & just keep on keepin' on! :grin:

*One cool little find that I wanted to share was @ Walgreeens. They have cute little "A Christmas Story" plates, bowls, and cups! They're just the hard plastic melamine kind, but so cute & festive! I bought a set & have been using them, makes me smile!*

Welcome to Day 1 of our special post series as we close in rapidly on the start of Christmas Season 2011.

And what a fine, fine start is was with 'Star's literary home run.
You really hit that one out of the Christmas ballpark, my friend!

And what else is a big hit?
Why the count, of course (what little there is left of it!):
Days to the Season: 5 (WOW!!)
Days To Thanksgiving Day: 16 (Two weeks from the day after tomorrow!)
Days to Christmas Day: 47 (Barely over a month and a half!)

Again rather chilly at 43 for the morning shelty stroll. (I want to WALK -- he wants to stroll and explore.)
It is now 45 under calm, sunny skies with no precip in the forecast. And it should reach 70 by this afternoon!

I'm sure you all will have a Terrific Tuesday after reading 'Star's stellar essay.
Can't wait for tomorrow's, and the next day's, and the next day's, and.........

Next up - the fabulously fantastic, talented, trusted, and well coffee-fortified BINGER!

I forgot to tell y'all I tried to talk my Hubby into putting our one Christmas tree up in our Family room over the weekend but he wouldnt go for it =0/. This weekend we are painting both of the boys rooms (they want Santa to bring the, the Disney "Cars" beds) so Mommy & Daddy for their Christmas present are doing the painting and putting up the borders.. then next weekend we will put up our one tree.. the rest will go up the next weekend.. so much to look forward too! Its the mooost wonderful time of the yyearr!!!!!

They is a song about that Rascal Flatts it is called Mayberry!!!! I bet it is great. That is something I love about small towns, every where we go on vacation I try real hard to say "off the beaten" path and go to a small town, I LOVE Saturday and Sunday mornings!!!

I went back into the posts and I couldn't find the one from GA BullDawg to see what you are all wishing him well about. I don't want to appear insensitive, but I must have missed reading that post. Either way, he is a HUGE part of the Christmas family, and I hope all is well. Everyone is worried about him, so I am worried too. I will keep positive thoughts and send prayers up for him.

Oh now I wish I tagged it! It was back I want to say over the weekend, but it his his mom & dad they were in a car accident and he had very limited knowledge or information they live out of state from him, I believe in Portland, OR.

“Merry Christmas!”

People are seen sneaking around and hiding things.

Our kids seem to need very little sleep this time of the year and keep watching the sky to see if reindeer really know how to fly.
.
So when those with no Christmas spirit, tell you it’s to soon, to commercial, to noisy, to bright, to wasteful….
Just smile at them and give them a bit of your faith in what you know the season is about to bring!
