Christmas Countdown - 2011

Good evening everyone, hope everyone is in good spirits!

The electrician found the problem with the wiring in my house and its pretty bad, the circuit breaker box is shot because water had been getting in it from an undetected leak around where the wiring comes in the house and corroded inside the box pretty bad so the box needed replaced also literally half of the wiring in the house is "unsafe", the newer wiring that the heavy appliances are on was not grounded properly so pretty major project underway here, the new box is installed but they have to come back tomorrow and replace some of the unsafe wiring House is a tore up mess right now from the work being done, can't wait to see what this is going to cost me....*shudders* Oh well I'm trying to keep myself positive about it because it will be safe and I will be able to decorate with lots of Christmas lights and not worry about unsafe wiring lol. Still dreading getting the bill for this....

Well I'm off to catch up in the fun and games section here and watch a hockey game tonight! Have a great night everyone!

Also have those outlets on a circuit of their own. It will not cost that much more and you will at least get something very useful for the season out of the deal!

I hope the sticker shock isn't too bad ... the good news is that the work will last you a long time once everything is up to code. And like RJD said, it's a good chance to get some outdoor outlets to make your decorating easier!

evening all, watching Farewell Mr. Kringle I didn't get a chance to last year. I did myself wondering what is happening here and love to che k in...But, not all good news from me today, I have a group of six young adults in my youth group and one of them ran away from home B came from a broken home, his mom is currently in prison, father cannot be found, his family isn't really a place you would want to put a child, he is 15 he has no idea of what is out there really, I thought I was making a dent, but I guess not, it hurts and I know it shouldn't I want to find him and tell him I know how, out feel, not wanted, alone, and a little afraid, but you don't have to think that, you can make a change, it isn't easy, it will be down right painful at times but the rewards are so great. This Saturday we were doing a Thanksgiving with another youth house, B will be missed, even if the cops find him he will go to JV hall, this was a gift. I hope he finds his way, I hope he realizes that he does matter and he too is worthy of love. I try to tell them in group you need to find it in yourself to love you because until you do you will never know when someone else does. I listen to them I treat them with kindness and respect and I hate to say this I think at first they have no idea how to accept it so they are rude, but over time they learn, and every so often I hear them say please, excuse me, or may I it put s a smile on my face. I am often asked by the kids about myself I try to be honest but within reason. Sorry I unloaded here tonight I just had to get it off my mind in a positive way this will help me move forward.

She hasn't seen the tree yet, it's a whole different experience! I am curious so let me know how she does with it.

If she is destructive your best bet is twist tie (very tightly) everyone of your breakable ornaments to the tree. I started doing that and NOTHING will get them off the tree unless the whole tree falls or if the cat knows how to untwist twist ties.

I did have a cat, over 20 years ago, that would actually leap into the tree and knock it completely over. Ha ha!

Thanks CAH for the tips !! Lily has been really good so far with everything set up.....But I know the tree can be a different matter !! I will definitely let you know !! xo

I can't believe next Week is Thanksgiving!!! Hooray !! I have three days off in a row even though I don't get paid for Thanksgiving. I am looking forward to a much needed break away from transcription.

Snowflake - Dont worry about mentioning all my furkids.....I know your heart ((HUGS)). I have Five furkids - 3 canines and 2 felines. The canines are Wishbone, Ivy and Clancy. The felines are Smokey and Lily...........And I want to add more of both !! I don't want to be an animal hoarder though......What a horrible life for those poor furkids........I would never adopt more than I can provide for....xo

CJ - I hope your house problems are not too expensive !!

I had to get that done as i was taking extention leads from the house out windows. was tara looking.. i got a electric box from my main building into my store and then from there have 4 others outside boxes in different area..great job.

Sure thats what friends are for.. sometimes you try and help and you cant. and no matter how much you try it will not make a lot of differance. some people do not want help or want to listen..your a good person for being there if they need help. and the bit about finding love inside themselves is true . if its not there they cant share it. he is probably hurting like hell inside. maybe he never had any love.
Dont feel bad about it. i have been there in different things and its only brings you down. i have learn your not gonna won all the time

Good morning christmas friends
Hope everything is good in your part of the world.
Was really busy yesterday. the 2 pallets was really hard. i still have a pile to do yet
Some really nice tree,s most fibre optic and some prelit and a few original
Got some in the shop .there is one am holding back to i have a think. its red prelit with led lights. really is nice and was gonna keep it to replace my tree in the sunroom. but it wood mean changing the colour as my tree in there is white with copper and red.
I dont have any more room in the shop for anything i spent about a hour after it shut last night trying to sort it and got there a bit but still have not enough room. at the minute there is just enough room to walk thats it . and as well you should see the area that i use for storage there,s no room either. there is that much much left over for ones for christmas.
But am not really complaining as these days i should thank god that its like that as so many business over here are in bother.

The christmas music and films are flying now on our channels. movies 24 which is now christmas 24 shows christmas films most of the day and true entertaintent has one at 6pm every evening and the bliss music channel has christmas music on steady. have recorded and have set to record a few of the music ones
As 2 mates want to come to mine saturday night and then go out but we have decided that maybe we will sit in and listen to christmas music have a little drink and get something to eat. as they know am getting out of storage my christmas dec its not going up yet for about 10 days.
So thats it folks tea cup is emply so another on the way lol

Evening. School has been so much fun. I have done nothing but chill out in class, watch movies in English and spend my time with the people that mean a lot to me. School is coming to an end in a month and it's not going to easy saying goodbye to a few of my friends, but I can still chill out with them on weekends, so it's not like I'm never going to see them again. I can't believe Christmas is coming. I am so excited. I have started watching Christmas movies and I have had a blast. Once the 1st of December comes, I will get home from my school, wait for my father to come home from work and get cracking on putting up our new Christmas tree and decorating the house. I am off to Ballina in two days for a friend's birthday party, which is going to be great.

Just an other day of working for school and listening to christmas music! I don't know of some of you remember that last year I was feeling all bad, because of every one pulling on us to visit them on christmas and we would be feeling all bad? This year is going to be great! We get to spend christmas eve in our own beautiful new home and my boyfriends parents have been amazing, all understanding how difficult it is for my family to get all together (i have 4 brothers, of who two live in hours away, and one has a girlfriend who's parents aren't easy at all!) so they've been telling us they understand that what christmas is really about is being together, and that they are glad that they can spend time with us, no matter if it's on the first or the second day of christmas now i can start planning with my mother, because my sister in law said we will all be with my parents on the first day of christmas i am so thrilled i can hardly concentrate on my book and essay!

Good morning! My a/c ran all night and when I went out at 4 am it was still 70f,high today around 84 but at least it should be cloudy. I miss cloudy weather with it being sunny 99.9 percent of the time. It should cool off the next few days and I am really looking forward to that! I am so not trying to get my hopes up but the 15 day forecast at accuweather.com is saying a major cooldown coming around the 27th of november. which is like day12 of the forecast,looks like thanksigiving willstill be mild.
The Dr went good yesterday and now we have to go back every 2 weeks. Luckily friday is her last day teaching until after the baby comes because she is not sleeping good at night andI know she feels bad during the day too. The baby was not flipping and flopping like he was at 16 weeks of course he don't have as much room to now,in fact he looked a bit cramped.lol I think he will come around the 18th of december...don't know why I think that Jan 3rd seems so way off in terms of how she really looks..everyone thinks she is due anyday now..of course I lie and say no you don't!ugh...God will forgive me..I hope everyone has a good day.I hope it's a fast one!
