Kind of a discouraging day. I brought my gift bags for the two co-workers I work with most, as I do annually. One recipient didn't even mention receiving it (yes, I know she got it, I put it on her chair); she went home early and left the bag on her desk. (After raving to everyone about a another gift she received from someone else.) The other recipient didn't mention receiving her bag until I thanked the her for the gift bag she gave me. I guess this sounds like a petty complaint---like I'm keeping score. Yes, I'm in busy mode, but it wouldn't kill my schedule if someone walked up to say "Thanks for thinking of me"---or, if they didn't want to interrupt, send an e-mail. On top of some other petty things that are nibbling at me, it put me in an unhappy mood today. I'm going to try to get home a little earlier today and get a little more rest.

(Apologies to all for the recent string of gloomy posts. I'll try to improve that.)

That to me is terrible ! sound like lovely people to work with- NOT you wood near think they were doing it for badness. i wood not worry about it. you have people there and in your family life that appricate you

I can relate totally! I have sent out my ornament to a member here, and I have not heard a word one way or another, I know they have received it, for the tracking number has confirmed delivery. I also have not received my ornament from them, nor any word on when and if they have sent it. Very discouraging, makes me think I've done something wrong. I wasn't going to send it unless I received mine first, but thought that was not very generous. So I mailed it.. I spent more sending it out than on the ornament itself! Oh well, this will be my first and last time on this site after the holiday is over. Have a Great Merry Christmas, I appreciated your card, thank you! Later.....

Forgot to mention today or yesterday on the 21st was the shortest day of the year for sunlight...from today on the days will be getting longer until summer solstice on the 21st of June! I say bring on spring and summer it feels like it anyways...might as well get this over with so fall 2012 will get here and maybe we can have a real winter in 2012!!

******** CHRISTMAS SEASON DAY 40 ********

Good Morning, So-Close Friends!

Wow! FORTY days into Christmas Season 2011.
How could so much have gone past already?
(Bear in mind, of course, that also means the countdown to Christmas Season 2012 has been running for 40 days!)

But we are getting ahead of ourselves.
We still have a very short count here left to finish:
Days to Christmas Day: 3
Lookie there!
UNDER HALF A WEEK NOW!!
Incredible! Just incredible!

Another warm morning here in the capital city where we did not drop below 60 all night.
Currently is its 61 with the chance of a bit more rain before colder weather returns (appropriately) for Christmas.

OK!
Did everyone have a great time at the 'Pines yesterday?
I did.
And I can't wait for the New Year's Eve bash!
(That should really bring out the wild side of a certain camel!)

You have a Thrilling Thursday, Folks.
Weekend Eve tomorrow, then Christmas Eve the day after that!
Wowwwwwwers!!

Uh Oh!!! Traffic must be heavy this morning because I am having a heck of a time getting on here. I hope it dies down before Darlene Love on friday night!!!!

Good Morning Everyone!!!!! It is going to be another wet one here in central Indy. I have to babysit today so my sister can finish her christmas shopping and then we are taking mom out for her Birthday tonight. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!

Just in Case:
I hope all of you have a Wonderful Christmas!!!!!!!!!

Can't believe I forgot to call in for the podcast....darn.

I forgot, too :(

The A/c ran all night it feels like mid spring with lows in the 60's and highs around 80! I have never seen anything like this at all weather wise.

Our peach trees are budding out already!

This post is just to brag that I passed my 14000th post! whoo hooo!

Congratulations!

I was on the site, but couldn't get anywhere for a few minutes . . . seems okay now!

Sneaking in before beginning work ... shhh, don't tell the gremlins, but I think I'm beginning to see daylight, if the client doesn't throw another monkey wrench into the works ...

Got home a little earlier yesterday, laid down for a little while, read in bed for a little while, had a pizza sent in after Mr. got home, and surfed on the Kindle Fire a little (I found a free Live365 app that lets me listen to MCR-1 on the Kindle!) Mr. reminded me a of line in "Star in the Night" that helped to put my gift-bag recipients in perspective, and things are looking brighter this morning. Thanks for all the good wishes.

caltch, I wish your bad experience in the Ornament Exchange wouldn't drive you away from all the other good things and good people here. I hope you will feel differently, because we would miss you. Think about it before you chop down the tree because of one rotten apple.

Is it the one about a cigar???

"God rest ye merry gentlemen ..."

Well, although we are on Christmas break, I still have work to do. We participate in a holiday tourney about an hour and a half away and both teams play today....and their games are four hours apart!

Oh well, after today...it's no work for 4 days...and Darlene Love tomorrow night! Yes! See everyone tomorrow!

Good morning, MMC!

The sun is going to come out today and I am going to take a long walk when it does! For some reason I am still really tired . . . I am supposed to go out with friends and have lunch and shop, but I think I will stay home. Mouse is still not feeling up to par, but she seems a bit better to me. I think she is fighting off a nasty cold - I wish I could fight it off for her! There is a really good Christmas movie on at 10 I plan on watching and since I didn't get to the cookie bars yesterday, maybe I will make them this afternoon. It is an easy recipe, just need to get motivated to do the dishes that will result from my cooking spree - once I start cooking, I always make more than one dish.

Have a MERRY day!

(I am trying this again! I hope it post). =)

I have tried numerous times to stay on here and read the countdown post only to have a hard time with the pages loading. Good sign we are busy on here!

I am still suffering a cold and trying to stay Merry through it all! :yahoo:

I just hope to be well by Christmas Day! Our day will start out with going to work to feed the animals. We are closed but the critters must get fed. :D Then off to church and home to celebrate Christmas with the family! A few people will be here at my house getting things ready for Christmas while I am gone in the morning to lessen up the work here! =)

A slight possibility of a little snow on Christmas Eve mixed in with rain. Some snow is better than no snow!!!

What time does the Darlene Love party start?

The reason I ask is because we're fighting to keep the server up and we will continue with that struggle through Christmas Day. I had a modification that allows me to allow only members on the site....and that will allow the party to go forward. I don't like to use this setting but I'll do it for a special event.

So if someone can give me a start time and an anticipated end time I will do the best I can to ensure the party can go on....

Is anyone going to watch the outback bowl on Jan 2nd with Michigan state vs Georgia? Meceka aren't you in Michigan?? Anyhow it's in tampa fl, tampa,Miami, and jacksonville, and Orlando all host annual Bowl games and all the traffic comes through here around Jan1 st on I-75...for a few days it's bumper to bumper all the way through atlanta, plus with the regular holiday traffic! I always like the hustle and bustle of these last 2 weeks of the year! And I like the slow down after the first of the year although it can be depressing!
