a bit behind you, our dinner is not even all cooked yet. At least the turkey is in the oven.
Glad to hear you had a great day!
Merry Christmas!

And with this post, Jennifer is poster #30,000. Can you believe that we reached beyond our goal??? For her efforts and for the joke she played on her dad, she wins a Bathroom Reader of Jokes for the John, $30,000 (Monopoly money) AND 30,000 thanks. Congratulations, Jennifer!!!

I'd have to say the thanks are the nicest :) I really have enjoyed chatting with everyone in this thread and I am so excited that it is finally Christmas!

I am honestly so happy that I have this forum to come to all year round. It is so nice that you all appreciate Christmas as much as I do. Everyone here is so friendly, kind, and easy to chat with. I feel like if I go on any social media sites, everyone is a scrooge about Christmas. Or - everyone is so concerned with presents and doesn't even care about spending time with family or the true meaning of Christmas.

My pap has just arrived so I am going to go keep him company. Be back to chat sometime this evening. Hope you all are having a wonderful day! :)

My only disappointment? No white Christmas. I'm sure right when it's time for me to go back to college in a few weeks, it'll start snowing constantly. ALWAYS happens!

The countdown has been a blast and I have enjoyed every minute of it. Thanks to all you kind people this year!!! Special thanks to Crown for keeping us updated on the daily count!

I am going back to celebrate the rest of Christmas Day with the family!

Back home from the family Christmas and relaxing in snuggly clothing. Got some great DVDs from Mr., but it's hard to top the 16mm print of "It Came Upon the Midnight Clear" that he unveiled last night. More Christmas movies tonight, of course, and all day tomorrow to relax and look at some of the new DVDs. We received LOTS of DVDs from friends, both movies and TV shows. Mr. gave me the second season of "Pawn Stars" plus a compilation of viewers' favorite episodes, a great set of Frank Capra movies, and a couple other movies, plus "The Life and Adventures of Santa Claus" with "Nestor, the Long-Eared Christmas Donkey" from Warner Archive. From other folks, some gift cards, a wris****ch, chocolates, tea ... a very generous Christmas!

I love the fact that it's not over yet. We have the whole evening still to celebrate, and no need to go to bed early because both our offices are closed tomorrow! It's like a whole extra day of Christmas! Yay!

I had a very Ravens Christmas! My wonderful wife got me a Ravens ski cap, a Ravens ball cap, and a very nice Ravens polo shirt. Thank you sweety!!!

Merry Christmas to all! We had a beautiful Christmas Eve celebration with niece, daughter and fiance. And a very sweet family Mass in the afternoon. This morning was quiet--just the two of us--but peaceful. We saved a few presents to open this morning--I got something I've been wanting for a while! And DH liked his big present (a voucher for a two night getaway for the two of us in Monterey, with coupons for tastings at three of the local wineries), so that's a load off my mind. He's not big on getting things, but he loves doing things.

We're going out for a late brunch then over to his brother's house for Christmas dinner. Have a blessed Christmas day, everyone!

Merry Christmas, Anne!

what part of the country do you live in? My daugter goes to Fanshaw college in London, but will be home yet until Jan 3rd.
Now that the day is almost over, we are finally getting snow! Just looked out the window and everything is white! I love it!

Well, this is my first post from my new iMac. This thing is beautiful!

Meceka, you referred to my wife as Mrs. Ballcoach....funny story....my next to last year of coaching...we were in a huge game...state qualifier...there was this ump behind the plate...he didn't cheat...a lot of people say that way to quickly...he just was inconsistent...anyways...we had a history...he never kicked me out of a game...that never happened...but we just didn't see eye to eye....I knew it and he knew it.....off the field...we knew each other well...which probably created some of the problem....now to the story...

tie game...next to last inning...we had runner's in scoring position...close play...of course it went against us...it was the third out...I was walking back to the dugout....

when out of the corner of my ear, I hear this woman who sounds vaguely familiar....didn't pay it any attention...until I hear her referred to as Mrs. Baseball Coach by the umpire....I look in the bleachers and the umpire and my feisty bride are going at each other....

Needless to say, I was hot under the collar...first, because she is the coach's wife and I told her time and time again that she must be the example for all fans how to act...second, because I didn't believe in getting after officials because you never see them change a judgment call...third...because he is arguing with a fan...so I come out of the dugout and tell her about it and everyone heard....even the official....

and as the conversation came to a close...Ms. Ballcoach said....with a very hurt voice..."but it was a terrible call"....and I, in a very sly way, said loudly as I was walking back to the dugout..."Your right, babe. It was the worst call ever!" The fans erupted. Funny. Had to be there....just haven't heard her referred to as Ms. Ballcoach in a long time....

Ah, the memories of the good days...I sure do miss coaching....

Great story, coach!

Wow!!! What a day. I hope everyone had as much fun as I did. I have to get all of my gifts out of the middle of the floor and then I'll be back for a bit later.
