Hi everyone and Happy Pines Day! Hope you're all having a great day so far!

Our last Christmas party was really nice last night and the kids got a couple of cute outfits and EA got a Dora stuffed doll that also talks - her favorite. I enjoyed the time with my family. I don't get to see them that often, so it was nice.

I'm getting caught up on the posts. I am hoping to be caught up by the end of the day. I work tonight, so I hope to be caught up before going to work tonight!

Well, nothing new here to report. I hope you're all doing well. I am going to read some more posts, then I have some housework to do. I will stop by the Pines later. Any specials going on this week for New Years? :!!

Can I bring a year end cake?
PartyInThePines.jpg

I say "ABSOLUTELY!!"

gabulldawg...you must work on your fiance. Dec. 26th is much too early to take down decs! I normally take mine down around the epiphany. (Jan 6) By that time -its not that I am ready to take it down, but when I take it down, it feels good to have the house back & clean. Fresh clean house & fresh clean year! (hopefully!) I am off work this week & I don't want to be depressed by the thought of taking down decs! :merry: I'm sure you can get her to change her ways. Lol!

snowflake - I will keep you in my prayers. Hopefully you have some better news coming very soon.

The after Christmas blues started to set in (a little) already before Christmas - thinking "only 2 more days of Christmas on tv all day" - then on Dec. 26th when I flip on the radio....no Christmas music anywhere! Today my brother/sil left to go back to MA, so that always makes me sad. Being off work between the holidays helps keep the spirit up, and looking forward to NYE & NYD helps....and the Gator Bowl on Jan 2nd .... so lots to look fwd too yet. But in the meantime, I am going to put a Chrismtas dvd on!!!

I am wondering about everyones NYE plans too?? We have a couple options but no plans definate!

We're actually going somewhere for New Year's Eve this year. My sister invited us over to do some serious New Year's Eve eating, and I think I'll go. We usually stay home because of the high number of accidents, but I really want to see my step-niece before she goes home.

That's _exactly_ how I feel when I take the decorations down after Epiphany! I thought I was the only one! Some people in our apartment complex have already taken down their trees--I see them beside the dumpsters. :-( I just don't get it. But it's better than the late 80s, when Christmas music on the radio stopped at 9 am Christmas morning and you'd see Christmas trees in the trash Christmas night! I'm really glad _that_ trend reversed itself.

Tonight's film show is over ("We're No Angels"), Mr. is making some Christmas phone calls to friends of his on the West Coast, and the melancholy part of Christmas is arriving---less than an hour and a quarter of the Day left this year, then midnight will arrive and pass, and the rest of the world will shake off its Christmas like a daydream, and leave the likes of us to carry the spirit through into 2012. Thank heaven for MMC and the people here to keep the Christmas candles lit after midnight!

Happily, tomorrow is a holiday here, so we can have a little extra Christmas before returning to the "real world." But that's later ... it's not over yet!

Sounds like you and Mr. had such a wonderful Christmas!

Yes! I'm sad to see Christmas 2011 go, as I'm always sad to see Christmas present pass. But the lovely thing about Christmas is that there'll always be a next one! (With less than an hour to go, though, it's difficult to keep a stiff upper lip; it wants to quiver a little.)

I hate to say good night, but it's getting to be that time. I love spending Christmas with you all. Every day.

"And so, as Tiny Tim observed: 'God bless us, every one.'"

Ah, the Christmas Blues....they hit you, don't they?

But not me....someone...a wise old gender neutral...once said that Christmas is either here or on the way.....look at it like that.

As for me, I get through the year by looking at it in stages. In a couple of months, my martins will be coming in. I've got houses to get ready, poles to get in the ground....really is a lot of fun. Then, we get to Spring Break. After that, school is out and Christmas in July arrives! Don't despair...this thread will help take away some of those blues. Just keep coming and sticking your head in and we will pull you through!

So well said by the both of you! There is always something to look foward to, all year around. Being the fact that we have MMC too, we can come here to each other too to celebrate Christmas when it actually isn't!

Happy Boxing Day to our friends across the Pond!!!

I hope everyone did have a wonderful Boxing Day who were celebrating it!

I now have a cup of Spiced Pumpkin coffee as I sit here in what Hubby calls The War Room. We each have our own computers. Right now he is working on drawing up plans on his computer to begin our remodel on the back part of the house. We hope to be finished next Christmas, so that is something major to look forward to!!!

Sounds lovely! What a lovely Christmas present that is going to be for you!

Good Monday (dreaded day after) morning, my Christmas friends!

Well, right now we are as far away from next Christmas as we can be. It'll be a long haul to next Christmas...but I can't think of a better group of friends to make the journey with! And by tomorrow, we'll be well on our way!

I just installed my new blueray player and it ROCKS! Nancy and the kids are going to a fancy hotel in Savannah at the invitation of Nancy's sister...I didn't get the invitation, though. It's only for one night, and I have to work tomorrow, anyway. After they leave, I'm going to get a bucket of hot wings and 6 pack of diet Pepsi, and I'm going to watch Cowboys and Aliens on my new Blueray player!

I got two spiral-cut hams from work, (one of the was a Honey-Baked ham), so I'm going to pork out this week.

I hope y'all have a wonderful day! cheesy

Hope you enjoy/enjoyed yourself. Wings and diet pepsi is such a great love of mine as well!

I guess I should really go do some wash...ugh. The joys of having a household
:-D Haha jk!

RJD,
I heard from Thayrone when I sent an email about sweatshirts with "Coolarity" on them:

Not at this point. The products on the site reflect only my two show offerings. And thanks to Radio Jon D for spreading the joy around, a does a great radio show! Thanks for your support,

Thayrone X
King of the wild broadcast frontier
That pinhead will probably sue us for using the trademark for his company (Coolarity A2, LLC))!

Actually, Thayrone is a super nice guy even if his is as wide open as a Case knife. He just doesn’t want folks to know.

Hope you downloaded his Christmas shows. Well, all of his shows each week actually.

Back a few years ago the MMC Sunday night chat (yes, we held one each week) revolved around the “Bone Conduction Music Show” as it aired live. I would take requests for songs and shout outs and call the station. Thayrone would be talking to us on the radio. At one time even his wife (also his producer) would log into chat with us from the show. Thayrone would even throw a Christmas tune in every now and again for us no matter what time of year.

All that kinda fell apart after BCMS stared being prerecorded.

I totally forgot today was pines day...these weds are coming everyday it seems. I guess it's the last pines day for 2011! I am really motivated to start 2012 off right...I just got hired at the local YMCA to teach water tai chi chuan...now I have to learn how to do it myself really quick!!

And to all my Canadian friends at MMC I was just driving to the grocery store and was bored while I was at a red light so I started playing with my controls on the car and it turns out my car also has displays all in metric too so it is 11C now in my town...and I have no idea what that is is English units.. just thought that was neat.lol can anyone tell I am bored.!!

Nope not yet!!! this last week is the worst let me tell you!!! driving me nuts!!! Last night She walked up and down the staires all night...next I am suppose to take her riding down a bumpy road to induce labor so see if that works. jeesh!!!

I hope the baby comes soon and that all is well ((Hugs)) xo

For me, the Christmas Blues start on New Year's Day, after the tree is all down and decorations all put away. Every year i always get teary eyed taking down the decorations with my family. My mom always reminds me that it is Christmas in my heart all year because of Jesus.

On Jan 7th I will be taking down my grandma's tree which will be hard because we know this could have been her last Christmas especially since people say if your elderly and your spouse passes, the left behind spouse could pass anytime after that :(

I totally understand and relate to how you feel !! The only family I have left that I grew up with is my sister. She and I are VERY close and though it does not make one bit of sense, I am usually in tears after Christmas worrying that she won't be here the next year. She is in good health and active (she is 68) but I still worry......Christmas will be over for me if anything happens to her. :x We nearly lost my brother-in-law this year due to a HUGE abominal aortic aneurysm but thankfully he made it through xo

I know what you mean CM3...the older I get I find I am worrying about things like that too. Up until this year I was not even sure I would have any kids,so then I started worrying I would be 70 and alone in a run down veterans hospital...without any family at all...now I don't worry about that but with that comes a whole other slew of worries!! no matter what you always have us here at mmc and while we are not family blood wise I think we all share a common bond!!!

My wife lets me keep up my decorations as long as I want, I just let her put the furniture or decorate the rest of the year how she wants, so if I want to keep a tree up until February, I will get "the look" but she won't say anything. cheesy

My hubby is the same way... If I took the notion to keep it up until the 2nd most special day of the year (in my house the 2nd most special day is Feb 7th) not a word would he say, but I may get a look or two!!! Or three or four!!! HA, HA, HA!!!

But for me I do not mind putting my Christmas stuff away, it's true I tell you. It keeps it special and beautiful. It is hard to explain but I think you all get what I mean. The best thing about living alone (I did enjoy living alone) is that you can do what you please with the space you have and one year I decided to keep my indoor stuff up and well, by June it kind of lost a little magic, so I started to put it away, and left a small room with a few things out, now that I enjoyed and if you have the room would highly recommend. But for me, putting away my Christmasy things never leaves me sad it leaves me anticipating that most special day that I pull them back out again!!!

I didn't realize how behind I was on washing clothes until I starting folding...thanks Santa!

Good morning,

I have overdone things, I am in a severe amount of pain this morning, we are getting ready to leave to get our portraits done. I am listening to Music Choice Christmas music, which goes through the 6th. My tree is on, I just love looking at my tree. I will take it easy after the pictures are done.

I hope you all have a great day.

Thank you all for thinking of me.
I've had some minor health problems, strange symptoms for someone my age, for awhile & for the past year have gone to four specialists that doctors have referred me to. Long story short, I ended up at a dermatologist for another reason, and while I was there I asked her to do a mole check because I am so fair skinned. She found some questionable ones, and had me come back last week to remove them & get them biopsied. They came back atypical & "not good". She wants me to come back in next week for her to go in dig deeper w/ a scalpel. I'm very confused, she had her front desk call initially & when I started to get nervous & ask questions, they put her on. I could tell she didn't want to talk about it on the phone, and it was like pulling teeth to get what I got. "Probably melanoma" were her words that I finally dragged out...I just have so many questions, and am a bit scared. We have lots of cancer on both sides of my family. We just lost my Aunt to cancer last year. I am kind of shocked about all this, I stay out of the direct sun, wear hats & full sunscreen if I'm outside, etc. Especially with the strong sun here.

Anyways, thanks for the prayers. I see my doctor next Tuesday, I'll keep you posted when she returns my call this week.

xo, Stacey
