For the last time in 2011!

I am off to St Thomas today as my brother is home (he drives a truck) and we have not seen him since Thanksgiving. I am taking mom along and we will be back here around 6pm.
No real plans for tonight, just quietly visiting with my daughter, watching movies, hanging out here to bring in the new year. And the ever popular eating of the snacks.

Good Final 2011 Good Morning, Friends.

Yes, the cycle is nearly complete.
"The year that began so long ago is ending and another year is about to take it's place".
And we prepare to say goodbye and hello at nearly the same moment.

The run this year has been phenomenal to say the least. I would never have believed the level of interest and involvement that has developed here over the last 12 months.
(We even had more photos posted in the Blossoms thread than usual!)

Thanks for all of your help in making this the ultimate team effort!

Hello everyone!

It has been such a crazy week...I know I had to have missed some great things going on around here but my life has been so nuts that I haven't had a chance to drop back in. Hope everyone had a fab Christmas! DF's and I was pretty good...we hadn't done Christmas presents for ourselves or anyone else because we're saving for the wedding, but his parents and sister got us some nice things, and my parents told us the amount of money they were actually giving us for the wedding. That was the biggest surprise of all and we are more than grateful!!

The rest of my week had been dealing with Kohl's and the massive amounts of returns going through, and sadly I also put my two weeks notice in at Hallmark. I had been struggling with the decision for a while and finally decided to do it. I am leaving on good terms and have the option of coming back once everything settles down with the wedding, but I don't know. As much as I love the job, I made a promise to myself on Christmas that I would be rid of both retail jobs by the time next Christmas came around. I can't deal very well with the stress and strain it put on my time with DF, family and friends...it's not fair to them and it's certainly not fair to me. So, we'll see what happens!

Tonight, DF and I are hanging out with our good friends (pretty much everyone in our wedding party except for 4 folks) and we're gonna have a BLAST! It's gonna be the first time we are ALL together since...wow...since my birthday back in May! I hope everyone has a wonderful and SAFE New Years Eve! Love to all, and I hope to be more active in the 2012 countdown!!

Good Morning MMC!!!!!!!!!! It's going to be a chilly and windy day here in central Indy. I have to finish some cleaning and then it will be time to start getting ready for my New Years Eve party. It's going to start about 5pm and last until 9pm. You can all swing by if you want. Then I'll try to be here to ring in the new year with all of you. That put me in a trance! Ahhhhh! =)

Finally heard more about my grandma, she broke her arm when she was putting on her coat, her bone just snapped. She is a tough old lady, when she goes to the dentist, she uses no Novocaine, or laughing gas, she has all the work done straight on. She said it was the worst pain she has ever felt, they gave her 3 shots of morphine to dull the pain. We are all worried that the cancer came back and weakened her bone, please keep her in your thoughts and prayers tonight.

I pray for a speedy recovery!

I feel the same, but I like the sugary-ness but only at Christmas, I almost never watch Hallmark movies. The Christmas ones tho I do.

Same here. I do agree they go overboard with the "sugary" stuff and understand how some may not like it too much. But for Christmas, that kind of sugary unrealistic ending to a movie is perfect to me! =)

JP had Cub Scouts tonight, he fully enjoyed it. We are not hosting NYE now our friends decided to take it off our hands since we hosted both Christmas Eve, and Day. Only problem is they keep asking us to supply all the food and drinks, they do this every time, they hosted Easter and had someone else make the ham, we have been having them as part of the family for nearly 10 years since they have no other family here, they always supply the salad for all parties, and never make an attempt to do anything else. I am just ticked off because we always are the first to take hosting duties for holidays or parties, and spend our hard earned money on the perfect roast, or spend the time to prepare food and dessert. I would rather host and spend our money instead of made to feel guilty that we don't bring our own supplies since they don't want to spend it. They make quite a bit more than we do. We are bringing snacks, and dessert as our part. As we should bring something. I am sorry for venting.

Bummer on that but maybe they think you're the best hostess and love coming to your house! Maybe they are bad cooks and you guys know how to cook and they are hungry for your food. That's it! :wink:

It's not fair, however, to have you spend money on stuff to bring to their house when they can afford it!

Speaking of not liking New Years. I must confess I never liked it either but I had to adopt a more positive attitude because this day comes EVERY YEAR and I can't change that. I am not criticizing anyone's view on not liking it because it's what you feel and I have been there!

Joining these forums have been so very helpful on ringing in the New Year. I know that Christmas Countdown starts again and we are all talking about it.

Also a few years ago I started putting food and snacks out and bring the grandchildren over for their early annual countdown. I follow through this every year even if I am not fond of New Years or in the mood for it. It helps my mood to have them over. I feel better once they get here and we make the best of it. Sometimes we get the adults over to play games and have music going and it's a lot of fun!

Wayne and I made it a tradition to take down outdoor Christmas decorations on New Years Day. With his help, it just makes it easier to "let it go". It's actually the only day we really have time to take it down that is why we don't keep that up any longer. Wayne and I actually have fun when we do chores together. We tend to cut up and laugh a lot so that helps! We take it all down then treat ourselves to lunch.

Cheers to you all and I hope those who are feeling down will start feeling better soon. Remember, Christmas 2012 will be here before you know it!!! (((((hugs)))))

From what I have heard, Seawaters doesn't need an airport to fly the MMD jet....she just needs a strip of land....whether it be road, grass, interstate, gravel....doesn't matter. It's already 7:30 there....yall better get her up and out of bed!
