Good evening, Christmas family

I watched one of my favorite Halloween movies last night, Hocus Pocus ! It isn't scary but I just think it is really cute !! I have been watching for the classics to show up, the origina Dracula, the orginal Night of the Living Dead, etc. but I don't seem them in the upcoming schedule !! I know that Charlie Brown is going to be on Halloween evening !!!

I forgot to tell you guys......I lost another 3 pounds so that is 10.3 altogether. I only have 12 left and I will be at goal again. These last 12 might be harder but I plan to stick with it !! I will probably be back later to say goodnight !! xo

Congratulations on the weight loss! I haven't watched a Halloween movie or special, but I am rereading Dracula ~ good book!

FIL passed away this afternoon; we got the news just a few minutes ago. Mr. is on his way down there now before the mortician arrives. Mr. and his family all had some quality time with him toward the end, playing his favorite music on the iPad and holding his hand. Yesterday he could barely speak, but he managed to say, "Tough old man." He certainly was. God rest his soul. Thank you all for your prayers during his long final illness.

Oh, Merry, I am so sorry. My thoughts and prayers are with you and Mr. and his family. {{{{HUGS}}}}

Snow on Halloween? That's what accuweather is saying.
Halloween Eve here and it is supposed to be mixed with rain so it shouldn't stick around long.

today...Kandice has her first sick day off school....she has not been feeling well the whole of last week...I will rather keep her home from school for two days now...instead putting her to school and she will be sick for an entire week after that.........the good thing for Kandice.......her teacher is sick too (not so nice for the teacher)....so there will be an substitute teacher...and Kandice won´t miss too much in school

I hope she is better soon and that you don't catch it!

Monday hello ... :-) Not a very good day. On top of the death in the family, our shiny new cable Internet that was installed Saturday has broken down twice already, and has scrambled one of the channels in our TV package. In the middle of Mr.'s family trying to stay in touch as arrangements are made. A cable guy is supposed to come out tomorrow to see if it's our signal or the brand-new cable modem they installed Saturday. They'd better fix it---I spent Saturday evening and most of yesterday moving our websites, updating our email address on our online accounts, and sending out emails about out new email address.

Petty complaints, I know. But all rolled together, they have me frazzled. I hope things settle down soon.

Thanks for all your prayers and good wishes. FIL's last words were: "Tough old man." We think he slipped away while sleep. Mr.'s brother went to give him his medication, and he was gone.

I hope today doesn't add to your "frazzlement" of yesterday and that things improve for you. {{{HUGS}}}

We woke up to rain here in northern California. It had cooled off considerably yesterday, so the weekend ended pleasantly. I can't remember if I told you that we had wonderful food this weekend: barbecued chicken with not too much bbq sauce, baked beans, cole slaw, (Hubby had the bbq ribs.) on Friday night; prime rib with all the trimmings on Saturday night; brunch on Sunday with macaroni salad, tortellini salad, Ceasar salad, spinach salad with raspberry dressing and candied walnuts, four different jello salads, fresh fruit chunks, eggs Benedict, sausage, bacon, ham, scrambled eggs, two different egg casseroles, prime rib, fresh crab, biscuits and gravy, omelets fixed any way you chose, waffles with strawberries and whipped cream and four kinds of dessert. Can you believe the brunch was only $13? The weekend was in honor of the visit of the state president of the Elks. The photographer is a friend of ours so he asked us to be in a few shots with the "big shots"! Hubby is pretty high up, too, but it is always nice to meet new people and to be acknowledged for the work you do. I met quite a few new people at the dinner on Friday night. One couple was from Springfield, VA. After they were introduced, I went over to their table to tell them that I used to live in Fredricksburg and Quantico. Lo and behold, she was just a few more months out than I from breast cancer treatment! Her hair was so cute, short but curly. We talked for a long time. Then a gentleman came up and wanted to talk to me because his wife has cancer, and he wanted to know some of the things to expect. Then another lady came up to discuss her treatments. It is amazing at how cancer affects so many lives. I did have a scare yesterday and will get it checked out today: I found a lump of some kind on my left, bottom rib. I happened to rub in that area and discovered it. I am "hoping" it is scar tissue since in it near the incision site of the mastectomy. Wish me luck! TTYL

My thoughts and prayers are with you today, Seawaters! {{{HUGS}}}

Good morning, MMC!

:???:

Good Monday morning, my Christmas friends!

It was another uneventful Sunday afternoon. We went to mom's for lunch, then my brother called wanting help with a busted water line. We got that fixed, then I had to hurry home for supper. Bernie grilled hamburgers (a turkey burger for me), and Mrs. Hilda had fresh mustard greens. Oh my, how I love mustard greens! She seasons it with bacon, so I couldn't have much, but WOW was it good!

I hope y'all have a great day!
it's always nice to have someone you can count on to help when things happen. how are your kids today?

wow all that food sounds yummy & i'm sitting here hungry now!!lol i hope you get good news about that lump. praying.

I forgot to say that Hubby turned on the heat this morning!!!

i think it was around 46 this morning. we left our windows up. i like it but my kids say we freeze them. i told y'all i'm very hot natured!

shellliegirl- i've thought about it & yes i agree w/ seawaters, i really like the 1st costume for Halloween! they're all very cool though.

good a.m. y'all!!!how's everyone?

hubby just left a bit ago for the airport & he will be back on Friday.

guess i'll just hang out here w/ y'all, hehehe!

my doc had suggested i go to a person who tests adrenals & hormones. i called him on friday & was suppose to go today. i talked it over w/ hubby. the man did tell me it's not covered by insurance & can be expensive. i have to call him in a bit because i won't be able to do it. i wish insurance covered alternative meds. i guess they have to cut off some where though.
i'm off today & i'm thrilled. i don't seem to enjoy it like i once did. too many chiefs & not enough indians. (i do not want to offend anyone) it seems each person has their own ideas & expect all to do things their way. that's how it is w/ anything i think.
i think i will do some more stuff today that we seem to have put off for a while. i know in the end it is for our Christmas so i don't mind @ all.QUOTE]

That is really not good girl. what? you pay insurance but only covered for something the more i hear about your insurance company over here the more am begining to thiink we are ok over here with out national health which covers everything . really hope you get something sorted

well see, this pharmacist is testing people himself & then it's an over-the-counter med he gives so that's why the insurance co. won't cover it. maybe later there will be something like this covered but for now no such luck!

Good morning, MMC!

I bet shes having a great time and good for her

My neighbor sent me an email telling me she likes my Halloween decorations then followed up with asking me when my outdoor Christmas Decorations go up. I wrote back and told her probably mid November. She wrote back and said she heard that by law it's mandatory they go up November 1st.

I think she is right! Do you all agree??? :D

His cheerful smile throughout this whole video is contagious! It IS The Most Wonderful Time of the Year!!!

I thought you were going to help me put up mine on the 1st? I mean I did my own dishes this morning and everything.

Well dishes are done, trash has been taken out, the coat closet had everything dragged out of it and reorganized, dinner has been put in the crockpot, and the sweeper has been run. Now I'm off to the BMV. I better go by starbucks while I'm out or I'm going to fall asleep before Valerie comes on tonight.

I have been hearing lots of rumors today about a snowstorm coming my way early next week. I finally took the time to check out a source that was quite reliable last year and they are saying we could have a couple of feet of snow! Guess we'll see as the week goes on......hope my flight makes it home and I don't get stuck anywhere next week!

Not in the form we had it ... yes, it snowed, but the heavy snow put out the electricity for anywhere from a day or two to a week ... so be careful what you wish for!

We had no power for 5 days last year, and Trick or treating was cancelled.
