Christmas Countdown - 2012

[Holiday]

Good evening!!! Here it is Monday & I'm behind again!! Hope you all had a great weekend! It was our 2nd last weekend at the lake - this coming weekend is it for the season. We are having a chili dump & it's supposed to be cold & rainy...great! :?
Yesterday was a beautiful day here. Went on a bike ride with my sisters & hubby. We are thinking that might have been the last of the year too. Time changes in 2 weeks....it's all coming so fast now!!! We are discussing Thanksgiving - the party is between my sister or me! We have to "duke it out" :lol: Actually we both said we could have it, so it really doesn't make me any difference. BUT if I don't have to have it, then my tree is going up NOVEMBER 15-16!!!!!! Just over 3 weeks fromn now.

I forgot to say that Hubby turned on the heat this morning!!!

LOL, I'm sorry for laughing, but, I'm sitting here in front of my computer cracking up and my wife walks by and asks me, "What's so funny"! That was great......

That statement is SO open to interpretation ... :mrgreen:

My neighbor sent me an email telling me she likes my Halloween decorations then followed up with asking me when my outdoor Christmas Decorations go up. I wrote back and told her probably mid November. She wrote back and said she heard that by law it's mandatory they go up November 1st.

I think she is right! Do you all agree???

Oh, I just remembered something else I wanted to say. On Sunday morning I watched Nightmare Before Christmas. I had seen bits & pieces of this movie around Chrsitmas time & I always thought it was a horrible movie. I watched it from start to finish yesterday - at Halloween time - & it's not as bad as I originally thought. It's much better as a Halloween movie than a Chrsitmas movie! :lol: I don't know that I need to watch it again, but I have a new respect for it. Lol! Did anybody else watch it? It was on tv a couple times yesterday.

ohhh I love that one! It is so close it is hard to call and if I could remember names I would tell you who my favorite is and who I would like to see win....the guys who make the scientest who had all the gears in him.

I think the atmosphere is better in Lugosi's version, but the one with Gary Oldman seems to have captured the book the best.

I am a HUGE Gary Oldman fan !! I loved that version too !!

What I normally do is just start "typing out loud" and run through it quickly off the top of my head, then I go back and edit.

But to be honest, each day when I sit down to do the daily count, I worry that this will be it -- I just won't be able to think of a single new way to present it. I always live in fear that one of these days the well will run dry!
{Then I guess it will be time to turn it over to someone new(??)}

But to be honest, each day when I sit down to do the daily count, I worry that this will be it -- I just won't be able to think of a single new way to present it. I always live in fear that one of these days the well will run dry!

I got turned onto it when we went to Disney for Halloween and they kept piping this song over the speakers, "This is Halloween, This is Halloween..." and I relly liked it but had no idea where it was from. So when we got back, I did a little digging and found out that it was from the movie, "Nightmare before Christmas". I went to youtube and bingo, there was the soundtrack.

It has put me on a mission to finially watch the movie, I have never seen it and I was not so sure if you can define it as either a Halloween or a Christmas movie! Thanks for the input, It's on my to do list this week sometime~

Work called and told me they didn't need me to comeback tonight, which is good because my sinuses are bothering me, it feels like a sinus infection may be setting in, on my way into work this morning my nose started bleeding. That usually starts happening when an infection is here. Day off tomorrow, maybe the final time I mow the lawn for 2012, I hope.

Good afternoon,

Another split shift for me today, I am home until 7:30 tonight, then back to work for a few more hours. I am so sick of hearing all of this election stuff lately, especially our states senate race. We are getting flyers in the mail daily saying vote for me, vote for me! The phone calls from the actual Senator's office, his opponent, PAC groups, and other special interest groups are constant, I can't wait for this to be over. Just relaxing before heading back.
