For some reason, I have a bad headache and will soon go to bed. My doctor was not in today, so his "substitute" told me it (the knot or growth or whatever) just might be a bulge in the stitch and to watch it and report it to the doctor next week. Everyone have a good evening!

Good morning everyone! its so early I may still try to go back to sleep for a few hours. This is mine and brandi's last full week of work..well she works 3 days next week through hallowen,then she starts maternity leave until after spring semetster starts jan 8th or 7th..I start a 2 weeks vacation on friday and have outpatient surgery on this monday morning,should just take a few days to a week to get better,no biggie! We bought halloween candy tonight and am certain we bought enough,but I think that every year.lol I hope everyone has a great Tuesday!!

I will keep you in my prayers ~ I hope the surgery is successful and your recovery time is quick!

Good morning, MMC! I loved reading all of the QVC commentary - hilarious as usual!

I slept in a little bit today (oops) which means I am getting a late start to my day. I am going to be running around the house back and forth finishing my last minute packing. Tomorrow is the big day - vacation! I haven't been on a vacation for three years, so I am really looking forward to it. My stomach seems to be cooperating today although it still bothered me yesterday. I am praying that it gives me no trouble this trip! The weather is going to be HOT which I am not used to. We have been having 30s for the lows here. Temperatures near 90 will be like a shock to the system! Unfortunately the work is already piling up for me to do for school when I get back. I got as much as possible done, but I can't possibly pack heavy school books and notebooks. Plus it wouldn't be much of a vacation if I sat and did schoolwork the whole time.

I am going to try to catch up at some point this afternoon - I have been slacking terribly! I can't believe that when I get back it'll be a couple of days shy from November. I will be cranking out the Christmas tunes!

Hope to talk to you all later on - if not, pray for a safe flight for me tomorrow!

Good morning everyone!

It's almost noon on a momentous day. Three weeks from today we will be celebrating the beginning of the Christmas Season. How fantastic! I can't wait to countdown the minutes with you in less than three weeks. The Season is nearing and that is quite evident by all the contributions in the Blossoms thread. Speaking of threads, this thread seems to have exploded today. There must be some real interesting happenings on QVC!

Following today, I don't know if I will be around until next Monday... I'll attempt to post if I have time. As I mentioned earlier this month, I will be flying to Tampa Bay and then driving to Sarasota tomorrow to take part in Division II USAU Nationals. It should be a real good time. The weather looks to be beautiful, but how could it not - it is the Gulf Coast, after all!

I'm excited for my trip. It will be my first time flying into the U.S. I've flown within Canada and Europe, but never to the U.S... A 7:30 AM flight requires me to be up and traveling to the airport at about 5 AM. I'm not looking forward to that! Oh well, it will be a great experience overall. I just hope that my knee holds up during the games... It's been feeling much better within the past couple days. We'll see if it is too early or not while I'm there. At least I have the opportunity to play and experience the nice weather!

I hope everyone has a wonderful Tuesday. Tomorrow is 'Pines Day. Maybe I can stop in while waiting at Laguardia? And then the next day is Rudolph Day. The second last Rudolph Day before Christmas. Excellent! Have a great day, everyone!

FIL passed away this afternoon; we got the news just a few minutes ago. Mr. is on his way down there now before the mortician arrives. Mr. and his family all had some quality time with him toward the end, playing his favorite music on the iPad and holding his hand. Yesterday he could barely speak, but he managed to say, "Tough old man." He certainly was. God rest his soul. Thank you all for your prayers during his long final illness.

MC, I know I am very late but I wanted to say I am sorry for your loss. I am so glad it was peaceful and that his family was all around him filling the room with love.

Good afternoon MMC! I haven't had a chance to read posts, but I'm hoping to be able to do that from home tonight. It's almost quitting time - I get a hair cut after work (yay!) then I'm not sure what's up for the rest of the night! Plenty to do, but I'm not sure what to dig into 1st. Lol! Wow remember last year in New England that got that bad Snow Storm on or about Halloween, it was crazy.

Good Monday morning, my Christmas friends!

It was another uneventful Sunday afternoon. We went to mom's for lunch, then my brother called wanting help with a busted water line. We got that fixed, then I had to hurry home for supper. Bernie grilled hamburgers (a turkey burger for me), and Mrs. Hilda had fresh mustard greens. Oh my, how I love mustard greens! She seasons it with bacon, so I couldn't have much, but WOW was it good!

Brad, I've been "away" this past year with work and family but I keep reading about your diet, are you all OK? Is this a doctor mandated diet? I posted some really good recipes that are the healthy alternative I forget the thread title but it is here on MMC

We woke up to rain here in northern California. It had cooled off considerably yesterday, so the weekend ended pleasantly. I can't remember if I told you that we had wonderful food this weekend: barbecued chicken with not too much bbq sauce, baked beans, cole slaw, (Hubby had the bbq ribs.) on Friday night; prime rib with all the trimmings on Saturday night; brunch on Sunday with macaroni salad, tortellini salad, Ceasar salad, spinach salad with raspberry dressing and candied walnuts, four different jello salads, fresh fruit chunks, eggs Benedict, sausage, bacon, ham, scrambled eggs, two different egg casseroles, prime rib, fresh crab, biscuits and gravy, omelets fixed any way you chose, waffles with strawberries and whipped cream and four kinds of dessert. Can you believe the brunch was only $13? The weekend was in honor of the visit of the state president of the Elks. The photographer is a friend of ours so he asked us to be in a few shots with the "big shots"! Hubby is pretty high up, too, but it is always nice to meet new people and to be acknowledged for the work you do. I met quite a few new people at the dinner on Friday night. One couple was from Springfield, VA. After they were introduced, I went over to their table to tell them that I used to live in Fredricksburg and Quantico. Lo and behold, she was just a few more months out than I from breast cancer treatment! Her hair was so cute, short but curly. We talked for a long time. Then a gentleman came up and wanted to talk to me because his wife has cancer, and he wanted to know some of the things to expect. Then another lady came up to discuss her treatments. It is amazing at how cancer affects so many lives. I did have a scare yesterday and will get it checked out today: I found a lump of some kind on my left, bottom rib. I happened to rub in that area and discovered it. I am "hoping" it is scar tissue since in it near the incision site of the mastectomy. Wish me luck! TTYL

My neighbor sent me an email telling me she likes my Halloween decorations then followed up with asking me when my outdoor Christmas Decorations go up. I wrote back and told her probably mid November. She wrote back and said she heard that by law it's mandatory they go up November 1st.

I think she is right! Do you all agree???

I've looked it up and it is true, if you do not have a Thanksgiving Village your Christmas Decorations must go up!!! LOL I LOVE your neighbor!!!

I am feeling quite yucky today, my head is pounding. I have not watched any of QVC today, but I did watch Bad Santa, it is funny but not really the best representation of a Christmas movie. Give me Clark, Ralphie, Hermey, and anyone else for Christmas any day. Once again the political phone calls have not stopped today. :-o

Good evening everyone! I hope you all have a great beginning of the week. I submited my second university assessment earlier today. I'm really glad it's done. It was very confusing and frustrating and even native English speakers couldn't understand most parts of the task. ^^ I tried my best so I don't expect for the worst results. Heh, I'm just trying to be optimistic.

I am sure you might be tough on yourself, I haven't fully caught up but hoping you aced the assessment.

Oh, I just remembered something else I wanted to say. On Sunday morning I watched Nightmare Before Christmas. I had seen bits & pieces of this movie around Chrsitmas time & I always thought it was a horrible movie. I watched it from start to finish yesterday - at Halloween time - & it's not as bad as I originally thought. It's much better as a Halloween movie than a Chrsitmas movie! :lol: I don't know that I need to watch it again, but I have a new respect for it. Lol! Did anybody else watch it? It was on tv a couple times yesterday.

I like that movie, I agree I really believe it to be more of a Halloween movie then a Christmas movie - I love the message and his little ghost dog!!!

What I normally do is just start "typing out loud" and run through it quickly off the top of my head, then I go back and edit.

But to be honest, each day when I sit down to do the daily count, I worry that this will be it -- I just won't be able to think of a single new way to present it. I always live in fear that one of these days the well will run dry!
{Then I guess it will be time to turn it over to someone new(??)}

Thank you, it's looking better than yesterday. The arrangements for FIL are settled, and he'll be laid to rest on Friday. And the cable guys came today to resolve the constantly dropping Internet (installed Saturday, dropped the signal about eight or ten times since), so I have my fingers crossed that the cable modem will stay online now. They replaced the signal splitter and a connecting cable with a loose collar, and checked the main cable as far as they could go without getting into the wall. (Why couldn't the installer have done all that Saturday---??) Fingers crossed.

This seems to be my week to be on TV! After a great day on QVC I’m on my way to Toronto for four shows tomorrow (Wednesday, Oct. 24) on the Canadian TSC network. I’ve never been on air up there so I’m pretty excited at the prospect. It’s a chance to meet some new folks and talk about some of the special pieces I’ve designed for Canada, like this RCMP Snowman. It should be interesting, I always enjoy my trips north of the border, always feel at home. So if you get a chance and if you’re in Canada tomorrow tune in to TSC at 9am, noon, 5pm and 8pm. It’ll be a long day but I’m really looking forward to it.

1st off-make an acct using your facebook info. seems to be the easiest way.

2nd-after acct is set, there's a listing @ the top for subjects/categories.

after you pick your category just start scrolling & if something interests you-you must click on the picture, not text. then let it come up, click again & it will direct you to the info page of that item.

if you want to "pin" it, x off the info page, run mouse over pic, when the "repin" button shows click on it.

you will then be able to seperate different subjects in your own boards.

you can even make up your own boards.

the pins you repin will then be put on your boards.

@ the top right of your page is where you can go back & look @ your boards/pins.
