HEY everyone

I am trying to focus on the positive.. THANKS SO MUCH FOR ALL YOUR PRAYERS!!!!! and POSITUVE WORDS so far the cancer is NOT spreading!! Treatment to begin soon.. just radiation to begin.

How is everyone doing? I am going to start decorating next week... so looking forward to it... I love taking everything out and unwrapping each special piece...

Happy Friday everyone,

Today is our son's 17th birthday. We head to Pigeon Forge, TN tomorrow for our annual birthday weekend. Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg turn on their Christmas lights this weekend. It is the start of the Christmas season for our family. I'm grateful our son still wants to go with us, (it helps that his girlfriend is off at college). Weather should be nice; sunny with highs in mid 60s and lows in upper 30s.

Tonight we travel to Murphy, NC for another night of high school football playoffs. We are playing the 3rd ranked small 1A school in the state so our season probably ends but has been a good year.

We will put up our Christmas tree on Monday.

Hope everyone gets their power back on and has a great Veterans' Day weekend.

Good morning everyone!

It's Friday. Thank goodness! Well for most of you, at least! I have been off since Tuesday.I have some (decent) news on the job front. To continue my theme of being overly critical of our Canadian government, I am returning to work at my previous job with Health Canada. That's right. The one I just finished on Tuesday. However, I must return through an agency because I have worked the maximum amount of days through the government (90) that I am allowed for this year. Strange, isn't it? I had to pull a few strings through the agency to have them submit my resume for this position. As soon as my managers received my resume, they gladly told the agency that they wanted me to return. The worst part: Because I am working through an agency, I am only entitled to make minimum wage. That's half my former salary. All of this because the government refuses to permit those not currently in the government with indeterminate or term contracts any form of contract that isn't through an agency or a casual contract with 90 working days... This, of course, is without a massive competition that takes more than three months to complete. It's quite pathetic. Thank you, Canadian government.

It's a chilly morning in Ottawa. Currently we are at 2c. The high temperature of the day should be about 8c. A lot warmer than we have been reaching for the past few days. With that said, there could be some wet flurries tomorrow afternoon. A little Christmassy. A perfect way to welcome in the double digits of November if you ask me. We are so close to welcoming in the Christmas Season, but these Special Posts have been oh so good! I don't know if I want them to end either!

Well, I have a busy day ahead of me. I have to walk to the mall and see if I can find my good friend a "joke" birthday gift for his party next Saturday. He's turning 29. Hopefully I spot something good. Of course, I will have my blackberry on hand, too. I need to photograph as much Christmas as I can. The Blossoms thread has been getting lonely!

Got an email at work today and our Christmas party(Winter event) is going to be on December 10th! Our office closes with other departments and we have a big breakfast and then play games. It's only 2.5 hours but it's always a good time.

I had a very bad day at work today, then took the boys to BK for dinner to get them out of the house for my wife's Mary Kay holiday open house, and LC threw up in the playland. Nyquil is calling me, I feel horrible still. I did enjoy a Ghirardelli Peppermint Bark with dark chocolate candy bar for dessert.
I did see a Christmas tree in a window on the way to BK tonight, I want to set mine up now.

Hi everyone, great news I have power, all I can say is what a great thing electric is. I felt like putting on every light in the house lol

It feels so weird I have on the big TV I was looking through hallmark, lifetime to see what I could set up to record.

I must admit I am getting sleepy this early shift I am on makes me tired , hubby is working this weekend and I have a lot of cleaning to do I will ttyl be well mmc

Glad to hear that your power is back on. That is really one thing that you really miss when you don't have it.
Today I spent making Potato Crescent rolls to put into the freezer for Thanksgiving. I freeze them before the last raising and on Thanksgiving and Christmas morning I take them out of the freezer and put on cookie sheets. When they are thawed I brush real butter on them and let them raise then bake them. They are definately a favorite of all that has tried them.
I made 110 of them so that should take us through Thanksgiving then I will make another round for Christmas and New Years.
I have also gotten all my recipes out that I will use for Thanksgiving, Christmas, Christmas truck light show, and New Years and made my menus and then the food lists of all the things I will need.
Now I need to make my schedules of what day and time to make which item as several recipes can be made out a couple days a head which is always nice.

Well, my son has gone and done it - he's signed a contract to work at Disneyland Paris over Christmas. He starts on Dec. 22nd and finishes Jan. 6th. I realise that it's a very short contract but IT'S CHRISTMAS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm very proud of the man he's turned into and commend him for finding his own way in life but I'm selfish enough to scream IT'S CHRISTMAS and go find your own way in life on Valentine's Day or Labour Day Weekend. Of course, I didn't say any of this to him and promised we'd have Christmas when he got back...........

That said, if this is the only thing I have to complain about, I'm doing pretty good.

From another perspective, I have 16 (count 'em) 16 days left to work before finishing until January. My, that number looks good!!!!!!

oh my...Mo u cracking me up.....again....sorry he´ll be gone on Christmas....but try to make it positive.....since u gon have a lil Christmas when he´s coming back....Christmas time will be longer for You than usual!!!!.......I wish I could go back to Disney.......will be an operator....I mean working at a ride, a restaurant....or will he be a Dancer, Mickey Mouse or Princess Cinderella?

He's going back to work the Carousel, Pinnochio, Blanche Neige (Snow White) and Dumbo rides because he's already trained on those.

I personally think he'd make a wonderful Goofy!!!!!!!!!!!!

Goofy was so so much fun in Paris.....Kandice handed her autograph book to him along with her pen.....he signed it and gave back her book...and acted like he wanted to give back the pen as well....and everytime she wanted to grab it....he would pull it back...he did that at least 5 times....and people were laughing.......Pluto took away her Minnie hat and put it on this weird knob on his own head....
