I am right there with the both of you. I remember when I was younger and I realized one day that I had outgrown cartoons. I mean to say that I just couldn't sit and watch them all day like my younger siblings. But when Rudolph and the other shows came out, I was hooked again. It is amazing how much I love those. Here I am, 65 years old, and I can watch them every year. I think a part of that has to do with remembering when they came out and enjoying them with my kids.

Oh My Gosh, !! I never realized you love Rudoph too !!! Rudolph is my hero !!! I can remember watching that special when I was a little girl and I love it today as much as then. (((HUGS))) xo

Woke up to a chilly, foggy day this morning. We get a lot of fog which we call tule fog (pronounced toolie) in the winter. It is really hazardous at night. One time I had to drive to Sacramento and the only way I could keep on the road was to use the reflectors in the middle of the road to guide me. Scary stuff. It is bad during the day, but horrible at night. What is bad is when I have to go to Chico Christmas shopping and driving home on dark country roads. I plan to do some online shopping today. I think I might even buy myself something! TTYL

Happy Monday everyone.

Its a little cool here this morning. Temp was 22 when I left for work. Should warm up to the mid 50s for the high.

We had a very good Thanksgiving with the family. We made the 3 hour drive down on Wednesday night and stayed until Saturday evening. My mother is still able to fix country ham biscuits. That is a great smell to wake up to. She also still makes a great banana pudding. As is our custom, all of us ate Thanksgiving dinner at my aunts. The house was full with my wife, son, parents, uncles, aunts, and cousins.

We took advantage of being in a city that has a mall and shopping centers. We were able to finish most of our Christmas shopping on Friday and Saturday.

For the trip home, mom packed us country ham biscuits and sausage balls. Certainly not diet food.

Have a blessed day everyone.

CAH,
When are you going to be making Christmas cookies? Remember that you have cookie cutters. Take care of yourself. I think about you lots.

This sounds like a perfect Thanksgiving, MGRamsey. I LOVE banana pudding and ham biscuits. Hmmm. When we go back to NC, I will let you know so we can stop in for a bite and a visit! LOL!!! Keep us informed about your mom.

That sounds like fun.

Well - I think I know what I have: strep throat! My mom looked down my throat for me and I have red dots all over the back of my throat on both sides. Before she looked, though, I gargled with salt water thinking that would help. Now I feel like my throat is bleeding and raw! And the bad news is that I have to wait til Wednesday to get any relief/antibiotics :(

I feel for you, Jennifer. Strep throat is so painful. Take care!

That stinks! I hope you didn't use too much salt ~ it only takes a quarter teaspoon per cup of warm/hot water. It always works for me, but I don't know if I have ever had what you have. I know when I first used the saline spray in my nose it hurt, but the pain didn't last long. I hope you get some relief soon!

Here it is after lunch already and I have not even had lunch yet.
I have been out shopping and working on the gingerbread house.

I added up my work hours for the last week and I have put in 60 hours in 6 days, no wonder my feet hurt!

I will get some time later to catch up here, so I hope you and yours are all well.

We've got bad fog over in the Bay Area too today--hope it clears up soon, for you and for me!

Good Monday afternoon, my Christmas friends!

We had a great trip to the Smoky Mountains again! We we're up in mgramsey's neck of the woods, and it was COLD. Friday afternoon, it warmed up some, so I turned off the heat...and forgot to turn it back on. I woke up at 5am Saturday, and you could see your breath! I didn't forget the heat again.

We also found the bargain of the century at Best Buy in Wayneville, NC. They were selling some of their display TVs for 80% off. I bought a 19" LCD for $20 and a 39" 1080p LED for $70! Mom bought a 32" 1080p LED for $50. We drove away from there joking that were in the getaway car, since we "stole" the TVs...LOL!

Of course, it was a tight ride home for the 5 of us (plus Lulu, our cockapoo) in that car with all our luggage AND the TVs. Whew!

I had a great time, but it's always good to get home, too. I hope y'all have a great day! cheesy

Good afternoon! Happy Cyber Monday! Anybody finding some good deals? I have only done some online window shopping this morning. I haven't bought anything...YET!
I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving! I haven't been on much, so I'll read what I can to catch up but I'm pretty sure I won't have time to read all of it!
I have missed you all!!! Hopefully I'll have more time to check in now that all of the Thanksgiving cooking/baking is done!
Last night I mixed up Merry Carey's parents fruit cake recipe, but ran out of time to bake it (it bakes for 3 hours!) So tonight I'll be baking fruit cakes & hopefully putting up Christmas decorations outside at my parents!!
I hope you are all doing well!!!!!!

Good morning Christmas family !!

I am temporarily out of work so thought I would come here and say good morning. It is cold this morning. Not complaning but just brrrrrrr !!!! I am glad, actually. Not really a lot going on, just waiting for the doctors to get themselves going this morning.

Have a wonderful, Christmassy day dear family xo My little Lily has just jumped up beside me wanting some love. She is such a sweet little thing. A few mornings ago, the day before Thanksgiving in fact, I was having a reaction I think to the pain medication I now take. Fainting spell and everything else you can imagine and through it all my Lily made it know that she was with me. At one point when I was blacking out, she reached her little paw out and touched my fingers and kept it there as if to hold my hand. I am so blessed to have such a sweet little tuxedo child but then they are all sweet.

Have a great Christmassy day !! xo

Hope your feelng a lot better buy yes you said it. i really do beleive dogs can sense when your sick or sad

Hi everyone!

I don't know why exactly but for some reason this year I'm mega-down about the fact that it's not Thanksgiving anymore. I had a really good time on break from work and now it's back to the daily grind. I need to pick up my spirits a bit.

I get the feeling that might happen soon, Ginger.

Okay tonight is the Icicle light hanging party for my apartment building. Who wants to come help?

:hi:
