Christmas Countdown - 2012

As Snow-in-Texas mentioned, we are going out for my birthday again!

checking my account on line found out that ******* , my phone company, without my authorization took a payment, that was already made last week, out of my account. I never ever at any time gave them permission to take payments directly from my account. AHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It scares me to know they can do that. Going to bank this morning to get it fixed, already sent an email to ******** (afraid I was not very nice about it)
Really hateful thing to happen glad you got it sorted.

I took the day off today, my wife and I are going to celebrate her birthday a bit late. She has a coupon for Benihana Japanese restaurant that's only good for the month of her birthday, and only during the week. So we are going there for lunch and doing some other stuff today, I hope everyone has a great day!

Good Monday morning, my Christmas friends! We're getting more rain!

Wow, what a weekend!

Friday, I left work early for a doctor's appointment. I hate physicals, but I try to get one every year. After the appointment, I met my brother at the movie theater, and we saw "Chronicle". I loved it!
Saturday, I opened Bernie's store and cooked all day. We had Bernie's 75th birthday bash Saturday night, and we fed almost 300 people. Whew! It was a lot of fun. We had plenty of food, karaoke, fellowship, and my son and I played guitar and sang. It was his first opportunity to play in front of a lot of people, and he ate it up! LOL I think folks would have stayed longer, but it got COLD, and we didn't have any heaters....it was 80° the day before.
Yesterday, we went to my mom's for lunch. Then me, my son and my uncle walked through a field of planted pine trees to verify mom's property line. Her neighbor (A relative) is selling her bordering property, and I was trying to make sure none of our stuff was on the new owner's property. Sure enough, I have to get out and move some stuff. I'm glad we checked, but walking through those briar-infested woods was tough!

Anyway, last night we went to Bernie's house for his family-only get-together for his birthday.

Now I'm beat. Nancy has a bad cough, so she tried some cough syrup Saturday night. It made her mumble in her sleep all night, so I didn't get any sleep. Grrr. Maybe tonight.

Good evening, everyone! I had three classes today. My third class is only half of a semester, so today was the last one. We had to do a mock job interview that counted for 70% of our grade (can you say tons of pressure put on me?!) in class. When it was turn to do mine, I just acted as professional as possible yet extremely friendly and interested - my professor told me I aced it! I am so relieved! Now I am done with that class for good so I only have five.

I am going to eat supper and then catch up. I really miss chatting with you all!

Hope you're all doing well on this Monday!

I can't believe the weekend has come & gone, time sure flies when you're having fun :wink:

I just wanted to thank you all for your thoughts & prayers for my sister's dog, Hunter. He is holding his own from what I understand. He is still in the vet hospital, and may be there until at least next week. My sister feels this is best for him, where he cannot exacerbate or strain his ruptured disc, and can get lots of rest. She also feels more comfortable with him being monitored & cared for by the doctors, since she has to be away at work during the day. He is such a sweetheart, I really hope he does well & can get home safely next week.

We are looking forward to hanging out with my parents this weekend! It'll be the last time we see them before they head back to Wisconsin. We plan to do some hiking, shopping, biking, golfing, and may even hit a Cubs game. Harlowe adores them & their dog, Jazzie, so she will be ecstatic too.

Another workweek begins ... the radio was saying something about a snowstorm on Wednesday, beginning in the afternoon. I hope the timing is different ... I don't want to be driving in falling snow during the evening rush hour. I'll be keeping an eye on that.

I know what you mean about driving in the slop, I work late on Wednesday so I will have to drive home in it, then get up and go back in on Thursday morning and probably drive in it all over again.

:lol: I was afraid to listen too closely, in case it wasn't very flattering of me!

It really was just mumbling, but sometimes she got loud. She said she even woke herself up talking. Maybe next time I'll try asking a few questions while she's asleep. LOL!

That reminds me of when I was a kid, my brother and I shared a room, and I actually had a conversation with him while he was asleep. I didn't know he was asleep until the next morning and I asked him about our conversation, and he didn't know what I was talking about.

Her birthday was actually on the 13th, but she had a $30 off coupon for Benihana and she wasn't able to use it on her birthday, so we went today because it is good until the end of the month.

What network is it on? I haven't watched a race in forever, so I'd love to! I used to be a huge fan, my brother and I had all of the racing video games.

As Snow-in-Texas mentioned, we are going out for my birthday again! I never celebrated it twice in one month. If you have a Benihana restaurant around and sign up for the birthday club online they will give you a gift certificate for 30 bucks! We use it every year. No catch to it at all but it is only just for the birthday recipient, not $30.00 off the total bill. It's a pricey restaurant so it's easy to use the total amount. My family just took me there on my birthday but going again to use the gift certificate. The only problem is, they will know it's my birthday because of the gift certificate so they are going to sing to me! *hides* :roll:

I am so glad Wayne has the day off. We plan to have a very nice day and maybe catch the race on TV if it doesn't rain!
