It's been our family reunion weekend, which is a 3 day event for us. The theme this year was Christmas in July! And guess who crashed the party?

He said he had to allow the reindeer to play in the pool while he visited us, since the heat was so unbearable. Poor Santa had sweat pouring down his face, but he Ho, Ho, Ho-ed the entire evening while handing out gifts. What a trooper! I got a medicine ball...is he trying to tell me something?

Wow!!!!! That was awful nice of Santa to fly all the way down there in the heat.

Good Morning, MMC!

Happy Canada Day, friends!!

What kind of festivities are you doing today? Do your towns have special Canada Day traditions? I'd love to hear about them!

I am going to be a bum again, and stay inside today!
In the AC...
I'm like a vampire that doesn't come out until night time =)

We had a great evening, had a great BIG dinner & sat outside on our patio watching fireworks with friends.

And I finally got to see the end of Poirot's Hallowe'en Party. Loved it! My Mom got me into so many of the PBS mysteries, Alfred Hitchcock, Ray Bradbury, etc. They just don't make mysteries, suspense, and horror like those anymore.

So excited for Christmas In July!!! Not long now!!

*Hope you all have a lovely Sunday!!*

The BBC had some very good mystery movies - one series in particular I loved to watch - Midsomer Murders. There were several seasons of movies - they are out on DVD, but way out of my budget. You might find them on Netflix, though. Reading all the movies you have been watching is making me miss television cheesy
I hope you have a lovely Sunday, too, snowflake!

I just reread my earlier post and now I have the Austin Powers' song "The BBC" in my head - complete with dance sequences, which, if I recall correctly, did not occur in the movie when the song was playing :D

Good afternoon, Christmas family !

a really nice day here, hot, but nice. Went to get groceries this morning with my husband then we brought everything home and went out on the Harley. I haven't been on a bike in a very, very long time. It was very nice. I was worried that I may have forgotten how to be a good passenger but it all came back - Don't squirm and lean when the bike leans !!

Praying for JP Xmas xo I hope he is okay !!

Jennifer - I wanted to tell you, I love the way you write about your mother. She sounds SO SPECTACULAR !! Your friendship with her reminds me of my relationship with my mom xo

Christmasstar - How is your job ??

I hope everyone is well... Please take care, dear Christmas family ESPECIALLY Ella, Harlowe, Snickers, Penny, Pocket, Palmer, Mouse, Bo, Scooby, Sasha, Snowball, Victor, Maggie, Gomez and siblings, Chico and siblings, and all furkids EVERYWHERE including "my" polar bears xo

:hi:

Good afternoon, MMC.

The rain is south of us - darn! I'm going to water the garden again, but not until at least 7:30 tonight. This heat wave has done a number on my cats - very sad right now. I feel so bad for all those without electricity due to those storms along the coast, esp. those who cannot handle the heat and humidity. My prayers go out to them and all those who have no one to look out for them. I'm still not feeling well - taking something every 4 to 6 hours. I don't feel any worse than I did, so I think it is working.

Stay cool and hydrated, everyone!

Yes seems really bad the storms and rain. and think there was some people killed.
Hope u get a bit of ease with the tablets your taking

Whew.... What a day I had today! It all started last night around 10:25pm last night, we had a really wicked storm come thru this area and it hit right over top of us. My house was lucky and didn't loose power, but my grandfather and in-laws house got slammed. They have no power, trees are down everywhere and power lines are down all over the place as well.

I spent the first half of the day getting a generator set up for my grandfathers house (borrowed from my brother) and then I took my own generator down to my in-laws house to get them up and running. The local electric company (BGE) said that power may be out from anywheres from 2-5 days.

The storm has caused 13 deaths and 3 million people are without power over the mid atlantic region. The Governor of Maryland has called for a state of emergency, there are over 463,000 BGE customers without electricity and telephone service here alone. That was one of most powerful storms that I have ever been in, Really I was outside when it hit last night, I thought for sure that it was a tornado (which I have never seen one)...
We were supposed to have my daughters graduation party tomorrow, but I think we may have to postpone things a bit until at least the power gets restored to my In-laws and grandfathers house!

Wow! Glad to hear you are safe, I hope everyone stays cool while the power is out.

I hope you feel better soon!!!

Thank you, made!

One of our old programming packages had it years ago. There is/was a channel called BBC America in one of the costlier packages. If I remember correctly, I watched the movies on A&E. I agree, the settings are lovely!

Hope u get a bit of ease with the tablets your taking

Thank you, Shellie!

I've made another thread for this, but for those of you who get nosebleeds if you venture out of the Countdown thread......

HAPPY CANADA DAY!!!!

from a geographically challenged Canadian!!!!!!

Mr. Ignorant here, is Canada Day like our July 4th?

excuse me!!!????

Today just happens to be Canada day, a day of celebration, parties, bbqs and fireworks.
A day to celebrate the joy of freedom in the second biggest country in the world!

Ahhhhhh! Should have read further down the Countdown. Now I know. cheesy

Well, the sun is soon going to be shining brightly in the kitchen window due to the fact that when I accidentally broke the shade, I never replaced it. Lesson learned! Anyway, I am going to get off the computer and relax the rest of the day.

Have a MERRY evening and stay cool and hydrated!!!

:cold:
