Andy Griffith has passed away. Very sad day especially for us here in NC where he is considered an icon and symbol for entire state.

RIP
Biography Channel just did a show on him yesterday. Very sad indeed.

so when does it get warmer over there shelliegirl? Our plans are still undecided since hubby's not sure if he'll be working or not. Usually we have a big bbq & all the family & some friends come over & maybe fireworks @ dark.

I dont no lol last year our summer was 27th june and year befour it was 9th july.lol. this past few years we have not had a summer a odd day her and there. and as for 70s and 80c no chance
A bbq sounds good enjoy
And GOODLUCK with the paint

To sit at home in front of the air conditioner. They've canceled pretty much all of the fireworks display's around here and banned the use of personal fireworks because it's just to dry.

Mmmm sad but i can see why.. but am sure your amuse yourself someway no babysitting to do? glad to hear sis is on the mend ~}

Good Tuesday morning, my Christmas friends!

Sad ... most people know him from his TV show, but I think of his early comedy routines ("Romeo and Juliet," "Two Silhouettes on the Shade," "What It Was, Was Football") and "No Time for Sergeants," a movie that used to make my dad laugh so hard he nearly fell out of his chair. A very funny fellow.

Isn't there one other special person with a birthday tomorrow??? And doesn't she frequent the Countdown? And doesn't she really love nostalgia???

Hmm. Who could it be?

shhhhhhhhh ... If nobody notices, maybe I won't get any older.

Whose up for a roadtrip to seattle? I just talked to my sister and it's going to be 58 degree's out there today. Maybe she wasn't crazy moving so far away.

Good afternoon, everyone! Well, it's the last day of my employer's vacation, and I'm enjoying the (relative) peace and quiet. I need to get home and fix something good for dinner; my hubby finally got the stitches out of his jaw, and hopefully now he can have something decent to eat. I'm thinking ham steak with pineapple, corn on the cob, and some summer squash.

Yeah, I hit three years back on June 16th. Of course comparing your post count (17,000+) to mine is like comparing a fine wine to a cheap bottle of Mad Dog 20/20. I should probably spend more time on here and less time wasting my money looking for deals on ebay.

Happy Anniversary to you, Murphman!!

have a great day at work!
Unfortunately I do not get that channel :-?

Thanks, CS! How is your job going? Do you work w/ some nice folks?

Good Tuesday morning, my Christmas friends!

I'm going to the mountains in the morning!!

HAVE FUN!!!!!!!!!!

I had a great council meeting last night, managing to convince the council into contracting with the water systems manager I've been meeting with. All of the services and equipment he includes makes it difficult to say no, and his price is not much more than we were paying up to now, so it's a win for Bellville! I'm happy just not having to be concerned with all the EPA reports that are due regularly. Whew!

That's great, Brad! Congrats!!!

I have to leave work a couple hours early today to take my son to guitar lessons. He's starting to catch up with the old man on guitar! I find myself listening to him play in his room, then asking him to show me that chord progression or that lick...he used to ask ME those things! I'm going to have to bring more of that band's equipment in the house so we can jam more effectively.

We don't have internet access at our home in the mountains, so I'll have to rely on McDonald's wifi for my MMC fix. There is no Starbucks in our area, but there are several small coffee shops. I'll find some wifi somewhere.

I hope y'all have a great day!

Happy early Birthday to our "mystery gal"...you know who you are!! cheesy

Good Morning (again), friends!!

How are you all today?

I sure hope we get out a bit early today! We used to get a half day on the eve of a holiday, but not so much anymore.

Very excited about sleeping in tomorrow morning! Ahh, the joys of getting older- Naps are priceless, too. cheesy
I can remember when I only used to look forward to the fireworks, staying out late, hanging out w/ friends, etc. over the 4th. Now I just want sleep & some good food on the grill! Not that I still don't enjoy the rest of it!

Happy Independence Day!!

Hope everyone has a great day today, and a lovely holiday celebration tomorrow! Take care!!

Well, I have been away working at my grandfathers house since the storm hit Friday night. I believe it was the same storm that hit you brother-in-law as well. We had to cancel my daughters graduation party, my in-laws are still without power and my grandfather still does not have any power as well. I have been working back and forth between the two home (mostly at my grandfathers) I loaned my generator to my in-laws and I have two generators at my grandafthers running. I have been up at his house non-stop trying to keep the generators running, switching the electrical cords around from refrigerator to the freezers to the AC, trying to save his food and keep him cool and safe. At 94, and living by himself, I'm at my wits end of worrying about him. I went out and bought several of these coleman battery lanterns to help keep things lit around the house when he shuts the generators down late in the evening, so that he can see and feel a little safer. I hope and pray that the power comes back on soon... I have heard that the storm totals are now up to 18 deaths and 4 million people that were/ are without power, localy, we have about 200,000 people still without power. I'm going to bed now, hopefully get some rest... I will try to catch back up soon with everyone....... Thank you!

I hope the power comes back soon, I will keep your family in my thoughts.

Quality, not quantity! The spirit is more important than the mere number of posts. (It is cheaper than eBay, though! cheesy)

Well said!

Oh, that is so sad  I loved the Andy Griffith show!

Good morning, Christmas friends. It is beginning to look a lot like hot here in northern California. Right now, I am already tired, so I will take a nap before lunch!!! Not much going on here. We are just trying to stay cool inside. TTY. So sad about Andy Griffith.

Wow, a nap sounds so good right now. I hope you are feeling better and are able to stay cool! {{{Seawaters}}}

Congrats and happy anniversary!!!! I too am a fellow Ebay addict, sometimes those deals are too good to pass up. I doubled my Christmas DVD collection by winning quite a few 1 cent dvd deals.

Good afternoon, MMC!

We had a lovely, all morning rain - a real good soaker :???:

The trees look so happy now :D

Have a MERRY day and stay cool!
