Christmas Countdown - 2012

I went to CVS this morning and I saw there summer merchandise shelves were almost empty, I got thinking about what will be going there, I thought maybe Halloween, or Harvest, but then I remembered it will more than likely be Back to School stuff, rats, foiled again! The good stuff will be out sooner than we know.

I'm going to CVS on lunch hour to get a couple things off DD's school supply list with my ExtraCare bucks. I emptied & sorted her backpack this morning. We can reuse a lot of things from last year, but she'll need a few new things too. Just four weeks until she starts second grade!

Everytime I see or hear something Christmas related I think of this crew & how much I miss posting here & how I need to get back in the swing!! Summer (as always) is flying! I can't believe it is July 11th. Wasn't it just June 1st, like last week??

I am looking so forward to Hallmark's Christmas In July movies...though I'm not sure how much I will get to watch! It just makes me happy knowing they are on!!! I hope to watch a few anyway! I have the schedule printed off - I'm ready!! I noticed Ben Franklin is starting to set out their Christmas/winter things. Also back to school stuff...booooo!

I am so happy it is Pines Day - can't wait to see you all there!!!!

I saw in saome of the post some of you were taking about this film magic mike.. see it over here not much crack about it.. but over here at the moment its about a book the 50 shades of grey. my facebook is full of ones reading it. and seems to be 2 more after it. i asked a few what the big thing is about it and they both said you have got to read it.. aye right i can hardley sit down to read a newspaper i hate reading .. lol
Rung my sky provider to see if they had the hallmark station but they said no. but that our universal cahnnel was owned by the same company so maybe there might be something on it for christmas in july

Good morning, Shellie! I am glad it is a nice morning there - that is always a good way to start the day! I can vouch for the book 50 Shades of Grey. All of my friends started reading it, so of course I had to see what the hype was about. I will just say that it is interesting, lol. If you don't like reading, however - don't go for it. It's never good to start a series if you can't get interested. I am a major bookworm, I always have been. My parents used to laugh at me when I would go to bed as a child. I'd take a stack of fourteen or so books with me to read. I hope that you are able to find some sort of Christmas in July programs to watch! If not, pop in a few movies! Have a great day!

My co-worker and I were talking about music the other day. He is 18 years old and we were both discussing how we like all kinds of music from rock, country, rap, opera, etc. Then I mentioned how I love Christmas music too. He said, "It's okay but when the department stores start playing it 7 months before Christmas I have a problem with it"! I just died laughing! I said, "What department store is that because I want to shop there"?! He was not being cruel about it and respected me for liking the music year round, he was just being silly. It gave me a good laugh! Could you imagine, Christmas music 7 months early in all the stores?

I am with both of you - I love all sorts of music. I can't really say that I have one set genre that I love more than others. That is such a funny comment. I don't think a lot of people understand why we love Christmas so much, but at least he was good-hearted about the whole thing! I know a lot of people who fuss when Walmart sticks out their Christmas decorations in September. If that store did exist, however, I'd be there! I could go for some Christmas music right now, it has been a long morning.

Morning, Holiday! I know what you mean. I feel like June was just yesterday. I cannot believe that we are almost halfway through July already. This summer is really flying by! I also relate to you with the Christmas movies on Hallmark - I am not sure how many I will actually have the time to sit and watch, but I guess that's what the DVR is for! I am looking forward to watching a couple. I hate seeing the back to school stuff. I don't mind the fall/winter, but when I see that stuff it makes me sick to my stomach. As soon as the 4th of July is over, they run to put it out. Happy Pines Day, have a good day!

We need rain so badly & we're getting it this week. Too bad for DD though, because swim lessons started Monday night! We didn't go last night because it was still raining & some thunder. I'll call before leaving work this afternoon to see about tonight. Love the rain & wish I could snuggle up with a good Christmas movie. No chance of that this week...

I am also joining in on the "not seeing Magic Mike" group. I love Channing Tatum but the movie really doesn't appear to have that much of a good plot. I like to see a movie based on the story, not the people in it (even though sometimes they help). I think if I see this one, I will wait until it is on DVD. I am glad that you are getting the rain you needed, I know the feeling. We had a tiny bit but we still need much more here. It's a shame the swimming lessons started when the rain did. Hope your day/week goes well!

Good Wednesday morning, my Christmas friends!

I went to the meeting to discuss dispersment of Local Option Sales Tax collections with the county commission and the other city mayors last night. It lasted about 15 minutes, and the only thing that was agreed upon was the date for the next meeting to discuss it. It's no wonder government can't get anything done!

After that, I picked up some Chinese takeout and headed home. I love hot & spicy beef!

Good morning, Seawaters! I am so sorry that you are in pain, I will continue praying for you. I hope that when you wake up from your nap all of the pain has eased! Exactly!!! People will always find a reason to complain about things related to Christmas, and I don't understand why. It's true what you said, though, the bathing suits and the shorts go out in the winter and nobody says a thing. Heck - Walmart puts out the Easter candy in January! Same here it is 88 degrees (I am not upset at that - for I have seen what it is all over/ but in out field office they have TWO yes two portable A/C units UGH I where a jacket in there - yeah a jacket I am so cold... But, like you mentioned in another post at least I have an office and a job as it is still bad in a lot of areas.

Yes I saw Magic Mike!!! And no I am not embarrassed that at my age I was like a silly school girl seeing Billy Idol shake it on stage during Mony, Mony!!! I liked the movie, it had a story, but it also had EYE CANDY!!! I love, love, love Matthew McConaughey. I enjoy his movies and while my hubby laughed at me and said, the only movies he does are ones he can take his shirt off in I agreed and said yes, you may be right, but... Why not look how adorable he can be!!! So, even tho my friends here at MMC may look down at me for this, just know I liked him when I saw him in one of his 1st big movie roles Dazed and Confused... My girlfriends and I had a blast seeing this and Matthew's the bad guy in this, not a very nice man....

I have no desire to see it either. Guess we are twins!

Good afternoon, MMC!

I just got back from the vet's office a bit ago. Mouse had to have her nails trimmed. I was so stressed out over having to take her down there that I didn't get much sleep last night. The sleep I did have was haunted by dreams of tornadoes. Ugh! I hate when I have those dreams! These had several tornadoes, different colors and sizes, but no noise. In one of them, the radio announcer said there was nothing on the radar, but if he had turned around and looked out the window, there was huge black one not too far away. I guess I have some serious issues hiding in my subconscious!

Any how, all is good with Mouse. The vet had her taken care of in about two minutes. She just ate and is now ready for a nap. I think I might take one, too. My head is pounding.

As most people know, The Beatles are WAY at the top of my list and have been for 30 years. No one compares to them, in my opinion. If I am not listening to them, I love just about anything. =)

Why on earth would we look down at you for this!?!?!?! NOOOOO! I feel if anyone wants to see it, go for it and have a blast!!! There is nothing wrong with it! Seriously though, if there is an interesting story I just might see it when it comes on cable. I thought it was just a bunch of guys dancing around and no story. I already been to those "guy dancing" clubs in my 20's for a few bachelorette parties and they got old quick. lol

Talking about being a silly school girl, you should have seen me at a Paul McCartney concert back in 2009. I did a whole lot of screaming and it was fun! =) I can't wait to see him again!

Last week we was told that my father-in-law had a brain tumor.
He just turned 65 years old, he is healthy and in good shape
Never been sick a day in his life.
Yesterday we knew it was brain cancer and today he had brain surgery.
Sadly they could not get it all out, so he will be needing Radiation.

Im worried sick about him, my mother-in-law and my husband.
Im praying it will all be fine again!

Oh my.. You never know what tomorrow brings...

Lauriebear - I too want to see Magic Mike - For Sure!!! I love anything Matthew McConaughey is in! I usually see all of his movies! My sil went out to eat with a group of friends & then to see this movie Monday night. She never goes out with her girlfriends, so this must be something special. LOL! I haven't talked to her about it but I'll definately ask the next time I see her. If I don't see it in the theater, I'll definately rent it.

I brought a woollen jacket to wear today over my summer blouse and my denim shirt, and I'm keeping close to my mini space heater. I still feel chilly---an awful draft comes out of the ceiling when the A/C is running.

My job has air conditioning but might as well not have any. It's a feed store with huge sliding doors that end up opened most of the day for loading feed. It's not just horrible with heat but it does get toasty at times. Oh well, I love my job! =)

Not sure I could stand freezing though! Especially if you are at a desk and can't move around to warm up. It gets that way at church during the summer and I am miserable, I have to bring a jacket. This is someone who loves winter but I am not interested in freezing to death either! That is bad when you bring all that to your job and it's still too cold. Seems like they would turn the ac down to save on electricity.

But like you said, "think positive"! It's POSITIVELY too cold! Or for me at my job, "It's POSITIVELY too warm"! :wink:

The baby back ribs were very good! Took JP and LC to the school track to ride their bike and big wheel, finally got JP to ride his bike without training wheels, he is so cautious and scared of new things, he struggled a bit but by the time we were ready too leave he was going longer distances by himself, he should be ready to fully go by himself the next time or the time after. Late day tomorrow.

Glad someone else shares the same feelings as me!! I hate seeing all of the backpacks and supplies out. Walmart has been clearing their shelves and I saw them putting out notebooks the other day - blah! The only thing I can say I love about the books are the characters and there is actually a good story.
