Christmas Countdown - 2012

First day back to work was so-so. Took me awhile to get fully cranked up. PCB's are in full effect. It happens every year. Hoping for a better tomorrow.

Were here for you, we'll help each other through those dang PCB's. Mine will hit full on next week for sure

...DH said he thinks he will have to go out and shovel the drive way in a little bit. I think that is the kind of snow he hates - the kinds that there isn't enough, so he has to shovel, instead of using the snow blower on the driveway!

I am back home, and the surgery went well. The doctor thinks everything will be ok, and is pretty sure there is no melanoma present. They are biopsying what they removed today, which was a lot, and I should get the results in @ a week or so. I am so relieved!! I don't know why she thought otherwise before, but I am not going to even worry about that, just so happy right now. Thank you so much for your thoughts, prayers, and concern!!

The anesthesia has just about worn off, and I'm pretty darn sore! I'm going to eat dinner, take some pain meds, and lay down.

I hope all of you are well~Will catch up here soon. Take care.

I had a phone message from Carl. He said he wants Stacy and me to feel better and he gave us some hints!!!

In keeping with the "Holiday Inn" feel of the Shispering Pines (meaning the 1942 movie, Carl's favorite) the 'Pines is appropriately decorated for each holiday.
However, each year one Christmas decoration is left up and a door prize is awared to the first visitor who spots it.
(And that prize will be awarded at the open house tomorrow!)

Have you tried Calibre? I use that when I buy an Amazon book to put on my Nook.

Archive.org, Google Books, and gutenberg.org have tons of free public-domain books for download. Many are not Kindle-compatible, though. It takes tech-savvy to convert the files and manually load them onto a Kindle.

I bought a Nook for my aide on ebay. Have you tried that for a tablet?

I was looking for a tablet just for Netflix & simple stuff. I didn't find any deals over Christmas, so I thought I'd start haunting the pawn shops in a month or two.

Good evening, everyone!! After a hectic day, I finally have some time to relax. I DVRed Last Man Standing (Tim Allen's new show) so I am going to sit and watch that followed by Rachael Ray's top 10 recipes from 2011. I think I am going to get to bed a bit earlier than usual, today has been a long one!

I don't feel so hot, thanks to the heartburn from Bertolli Lasagna that I made myself for dinner. It tasted good at the time, but yikes - the sauce is killer afterwards.

There has been this cat on my porch since yesterday. Today we called the humane society for my county and they told us that they don't cover our area. The humane society is only ten minutes or so from my house, I find it ridiculous. The woman on the phone gave me a number for the police department. I don't think that'll be much help - I don't need animal control coming and killing the poor thing! It is literally freezing out, though, so I set out a box, wrapped a couple of blankets in it and around it, and left the cat some food and water. I don't know what else I can do. Hopefully he/she is at least full, warmer, and not thirsty! I wish I was a cat person but I have asthma so I'm not much help. It's a shame people desert their animals.
