It has been a loooooooonnnnnnnnng day today, I have to go pick up the kids in a few minutes. My excitement for the day has been from watching my cat Ophelia run from window to window following a squirrel. I did watch one of my Christmas shows I had recorded, Invasion of the Christmas Lights 3:Europe, not one of my favorites but it is Christmas.

Hi all. Just sitting down to read some more of the countdown. After DS's appt., which may I add he got a good report. He is a chunker...haha. He's in the 75% or above for everything. The doctor is very happy.

We went to breakfast afterwards. It was very good. We went to Cracker Barrel. Their breakfast is awesome!

Nothing else new here to report. I am going to sit here and relax for a little while.

Looks like Carl has this special blend already! Do we drink it or eat it? Anyone here going to try it?

Happy 'Pines Day! The days keep counting down. As I said yesterday, only 11 more months until Christmas Day. In 10 months, we will be right in the thick of the Christmas Season!

I'm not a fan of coffee or tea, so I will watch and await the results of Carl's new blend. I hope all is well with everyone. No real complaints here. Today, I am starting my first online course. It is an additional basic qualification course. Upon completion, I will be qualified to teach the Junior level (Grades 4-6). As a qualified Intermediate/Senior teacher, I figured that it may help me get a job if I could teach a third level. We'll see how this class goes. I am excited for it!

Today is my mom's 82nd birthday. We are blessed to have her still as part of our lives. She is healthy and active and still travels often to visit family in Vermont and British Columbia. She visits the "elderly" every week at a couple of nursing homes.
This picture was taken at her 80th birthday bash...

That is way too funny! I was thinking the same thing. When a teacher doesn't do their job right, to the students advantage, everyone seems to like them.

You know, they say that you should train a dog not to jump on you as you come in the door but I don't care what theysay. I EXPECT my dogs to jump on me. I am just as happy to see them as they are to see me. I don't mind them jumping on me! By the way, these are 2 little chihuahuas, not harm if they jump on me. =)

well actually only 2 jump up & that's my toy poodle ( jumps like a jack russell) & my daughters bassett/weeny dog. the other 2 just stay right up under my feet!


I sure do hate those days that I just can't seem to get going when I know there is a lot to do! I hope you get some motivation!

My company was okay with my decision not to go along with that goofy schedule but they still are changing my schedule on a temporary basis to 1-9 Mon thru Fri......which means every single Saturday and Sunday I will be off for a time and because they changed it starting next week......I have a three day weekend this weekend !! xo

Good evening, everyone. Hope you're all having a good day. It's been a somber day here in my part of my Pa with the furenal being for Joe Paterno. I live in a city where there is actually a campus, the one I graduated from and then I am less than 45 minutes away from Main Campus.

The kids and I are just waiting for my parents to get here. My mom is going to watch them for me since DH and I both work tonight. I think I am going to take some cold medicine before laying down for work this evening. My thorat is more sore as the day goes on, so it's not looking good!

Alright, I'm going to keep reading. I'm going to get caught up soon, I promise!

hey ya'll! well only 2 more days till the weekend, i can't wait!
ok, if you must know that was a pic of carl w/ his roommate george. that shellie was driving them to the pines & they happened to meet up w/ made as he was leaving the barber shop. i swear i think they had all been in the spiked coffee already because as snowflake was walking harlowe she heard them howling out to made to jump in. & yes he did have cah's laundry w/ him to return. any hoo, made jumps in, snowflake & harlowe gave them a big wave & they were off. up the road came xmas on his way to pick up the kids w/ his crutches sticking out the car window, the crutches got caught on a lamp post, & wouldn't ya' know it, the crutches went flying in the air. star & brent were coming from her mom's party. brent being such a good soccer player totally blocked the crutches from star. bless his heart! then bradmac came out to see what was going on in town, ya' know, since he's mayor. xmas had turned & was yelling for his crutches, brad takes them to him in the street & turned to look.....here they came again, shellie, carl, george, & made going around in circles lost. they had called lauriebear for directions but every right turn they were to make ended up a left turn. iliam & cm3 came by & were cleaning up the mess from the lamp post so that the furbabies wouldn't get cuts. carl is singing jingle bells & george singing rudolph the red nosed reindeer (as it's rudolph day). gramsey & meceka were on their way to the pines & decided to follow shellie. tex & cah came in their Big TEXAS truck & in the back were,snowflake, harlowe, sugar, dawg, kerstig, sw1dennis, crown, auntie, kerstig, merrycarey, ann, & merrymistletoe. they pulled over, loaded the rest of us up, caught up w/ shellie, carl, george, made, meceka, &gramsey & we were all on our way to the pines. we had the radio on listening to rjd playing Christmas music so we all joined in headed up to the pines. as wee get there binger & jayish are there to welcome us & that binger is binging!!
so there ya' have it. the whole scoop on the pic!!! hahahahahahahahahaha

Busy day at the office, so I'm only just starting to read today's posts ... I'll reply page by page as needed, 'cause I may get interrupted until later.

I had a bad day, emotionally. I am not sure how other cancer patients feel, but I did not do too well with my emotions today. I had a substitute in my classroom yesterday. She gave out all the paperwork BUT not to the absent kiddo. She just threw it away!!! Today, I had to find my master sheets, make new copies, and give them to my absent student. She let my kids out 10 minutes EARLY (!!!) and told those who have After-School Intervention that since I was absent, there was NO intervention. (THOSE kids go to OTHER teachers after school.) She also told one kiddo that he could use my desk to house his clothing (!!!), and told the kids that their names on the board were just warnings and that they would not need to serve time-outs for me!!! There was one other thing, but I am so upset that I cannot remember it!!! THEN, my oncologist could not get an okay for my MRI, so there is MORE waiting!!! I burst into tears when I called my oncologist and could not talk. Sorry for venting. But these are days off my life!!!

As if things weren't bad enough without a clueless substitute ... Don't apologize for venting. Countless ears here, no waiting! Better to get it out of your system. And insurance companies are ... well, pick your favorite censorable word. The way they make decisions can be SO wrong, based on business and red tape rather than the health concerns at hand. I wish you lots of luck and strength to win that battle.

On a lighter note. I remember having a substitute teacher in high school one day that came in to the room and took attendance at the beginning of class. Then he told us that he was going to run to the bathroom and didn't come back until 2 minutes before the class was over. We all thought he was the greatest teacher ever!!
