Beautiful job, CS!! Looks scrumptious!

Snowflake,
My plastic surgeon (facelift) said that patients seem to have more energy and heal faster after surgeries with INT. I hope to go in next week and get another one to aid me as I recover from the mastectomies.

That's a great idea, Seawaters. Thinking of you every day! Sending big hugs to you! xo

Good Afternoon MMC!!!!!!!!! It's freezing here today in central Indy where we currently stand at 14 degrees. It has been a hetic morning here. My niece has been quite hyper but I finally got her to go down for a nap. The bathroom sink also started leaking so I had to fix it. It's kind of nice being friends with the maintenance man. I can just walk back to his workshop and get what ever I need. He also likes the fact that he doesn't have to come do any of the small stuff. I just call him when something major goes wrong. Well I'm off to do some laundry. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!

So, we are going to grill out some steaks tomorrow & try a new steak sauce recipe. In case anyone is interested in trying it:

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 1-1/2-inch thick beef tenderloin steaks (8 ounces each)
  • Salt and pepper
  • 2 cups sliced fresh mushrooms
  • 2 green onions, thinly sliced
  • 1/3 cup brandy
  • 1 cup whipping cream
Directions

1. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Sprinkle both sides of steaks with salt and ground pepper; add to hot skillet. Cook for 2 minutes on each side or until brown. Transfer to a 2-quart rectangular baking dish. Bake the steaks, uncovered, in a 400 degrees F oven for 10 to 13 minutes for medium-rare doneness (145 degrees F).
2. For brandy-cream sauce, in the same skillet cook mushrooms and onions over medium heat till just until tender. Remove the pan from heat; add brandy. Carefully ignite brandy with a long match (mixture will flame up). Or dont ignite brandy; return to heat and simmer, uncovered, for 4 minutes or till most of the liquid is evaporated. When the flame is gone or most of the liquid has been evaporated, add whipping cream. Bring the sauce just to boiling. Boil gently for about 8 minutes or until reduced to 1 cup, stirring frequently. Season with salt and pepper.
3. To serve, place steaks on warm serving plates and spoon the sauce over the meat. Makes 2 to 4 servings.

In our case, we are making the sauce separate. To me, there is nothing better than steaks on a charcoal grill
I'll let you know how it turns out!

Hope you all have a fabulous day! xo

We are up here in the Ski resort area in West Dover, Vermont. It has not started out to well, my wife is sick, seems to be the same thing I had and JP had, or possibly food poisoning.

Good morning,
It's snowing! My wife is feeling better after a good 10-11 hours of sleep. Off to start the day!

I'm glad to hear she started to feel better so she can enjoy your stay!

All the weather forecasts I saw said less than an inch of snow accumulation - depending on where you are standing outside, there is four to six inches
[/COLOR]

I think you got some of our snow. We were supposed to get 2 to 4 inches, but it fizzled out into a tiny trace of snow and some rain. Annoying, because I rescheduled an appointment on the North Shore to avoid driving in the snow---now I have to get up super-early on Tuesday to drive up there for my appointment done before I go to work. The weatherman here owes me a couple hours' sleep!

It's supposed to be spring-y here in Vegas for the next few days =)

Good afternoon,

It's the lull before the wedding, relaxing now watching the Bruins, they are on TV up here. Got the fireplace going and surfing MMC, what could be better? Went out to breakfast this morning, this little hole in the wall, where if you are not a regular, you get stared at, not Deliverance style, but just a little uncomfortably. I think I was the only man in there without a beard down to my chest. cheesy The food was very good. My wife has a new friend in pepto, but still feeling better. I ordered a book last night while my wife was sleeping, it is right down my alley, another Christmas history book called "The Fight for Christmas" by Steven Nissenbaum. Well I got to iron my shirt and get my suit ready. The snow just ended up just being a dusting, so no sleigh ride for us. :-?

Have a great day!

:tree:

On the other hand, if it snows on Tuesday, then you can rest. But I am SURE the weatherman will oblige you in your extra hours of sleep!!! LOL!!!

Good afternoon Dear Christmas family !!

It is a balmy 20 degrees here !! It is also snowing and blowing like February is SUPPOSED TO DO !!! With all the crazy weather, I am GLAD to see that the earth can still produce weather that is correct for the time of year. I was beginning to worry !!

Xmas - I hope your wife gets better soon !!! How awful to be sick when she is at an event to enjoy herself xo

Seawaters - I had meant to tell you. I have TONS of wigs including some Raquel Welch ones. It is not because of cancer that I have them but because I HATE HATE HATE my hair !! So I use one of them to make my hair look the way I want it. The Raquel Welch ones are amazingly real-feeling. My wigs are in all different shades of red as that is what my pretend hair color is and I have grown used to it. Now if only they had the equivalent of different faces we could put on .....a change would sure be better than the one I have !!

CAH and SIT - I hope you guys are okay and doing well !!

Jennifer - I have been treated as a hypochondriac for most of my adult life. I guess I am but just because that may be so does not mean the symptoms I have don't need attention. I am sure there is a physical reason why your mother is still foggy. I used to get like that too. Mine was mostly a medication side effect which I still think is what is causing your mom's problem. In time, when whatever it is is completely out of her system I think she will feel better, I hope so anyway.

Iliam - How is your Lily ?? My Lily is doing good now. She hid for the first couple of days but now she seems back to baseline. She gets her stitches out in a week.

Brad- Thank you for adding that wonderful photo to our group for pet lovers. I am sure you are right. Your Ben is with your dad. They will be waiting for you xo

Incidentally if anyone would like to join our discussion group about pets, please feel free to do so !! We talk about everything to do with pets and are always welcoming new discussions about all things furkid !!

Sugar - Are you getting any sleep ?? How is your cold and how is your family ???

Christmasstar - That is an AMAZING cake !! But then all your cakes are wonderful just like you xoxoxoxoxo (((Hugs))))

Made - Thinking of your little niece and your mom. Praying for you xoxo

Meceka, Lauriebear, and Snowflake -((((Hugs)))) to you my dear friends xo

Big ((((Hugs)))) to all my Christmas family including Ella, Harlowe, Palmer, Mouse, Pocket, Penny, Chico, Snowball, Daisy, Snickers, Hobbs, Lily, and all furkids everywhere !! xo

Just took my spicy cheese enchiladas out of the oven and waiting for them to cool. It's my mom's old recipe and no one can make them like her,but I tried! Tonight we are going to curl up and watch Christmas movies, and I am looking forward to it so much,I think this will be our last "cool" front this winter...in fact we are getting down to 20F tonight and 26F tomorrow night! but warming up again soon,by the end of the week back in the 70's! hope everyone is having a great weekend. I till talk to yall tomorrow!

I will be there, but I am losing my voice so I won't be chatting a lot
Ha ha! Would that be your "typing voice"? =)

Does anyone have anything fun planned for the day/weekend? This is going to be weird getting used to no football!
I use to follow Nascar after football was over but just lost interest OR I can't follow them much since most of the races are on Sunday, I work then. I will miss football!

Very nice!!!
Sorry!!! We were supposed to get 2 inches here and I really didn't want to shovel it. So I turned on the fan and blew all of it back up your way.
You must have had the fan on low pointing this direction because we only got cold air and no snow! Turn it up a bit more! =)

That is hilarious! I have felt that way before walking into diners in small towns.
I can fire up the Lear, and we can be there in no time!!!
Pick me up!!!

Ohhh! I forgot about the group! I need to stop by sometime. I guess since it doesn't show up in "New Post" I forget about it. Need to get busy posting there again. Thanks for the reminder! Can we talk about pets without fur? Like the kinds with shells? We have a really cool tortoise. cheesy

We ran around most of the morning and finished up our day early. I have had a slight cold all week and it's getting a bit worse. Blah! Oh well, going to rest up. Sunday is a big day for me so I have to get better!

I hope you all are enjoying your Saturday! :snowball:

I plan to get two or three more of the Raquel wigs. They are SO comfortable and real-looking. I think I will continue to wear them even when my hair grows back. It will be nice to do when I just don't feel like "doing" my hair. I think I will keep my same face, though, so I will recognize myself!!! Haha!!!

Good evening! Just got done with dinner. We had cheesy potato soup and ham and cheese biscuits. It was delicious!

Nothing new going on here. Our colds are getting better by the day. It has been snowing on and off all day. We've probably really only got about 1 or 2 inches. Enough to make it pretty. It's supposed to get really cold tonight. Tomorrow night it's supposed to get down to 10 F or so. Brrr. I am ready for spring.

I work again at 11, so I think I am going to sit here, spend some time with the kids and DH, read the countdown, and drink a hot chocolate!

Hope you're all having a great evening! :)

I have a Hotmail account just for situations like that. That way, all the junk goes to one account, and my main account stays clutter-free. I even have a Yahoo account for junkier junk!

That's a good idea! I never thought of that!

My Mom's cancer may be back. They found a spot in her pelvic area. With her health and age, there is probably little they can do. As I have shared before, she has fought a brave 10 year fight with colon cancer including 4 major surgeries.

I'm so sorry to hear this, mgramsey. I will keep your mom, you, and your entire family in my prayers. Hope there is something they can do for her. She has been fighting along time it sounds like and has come along way. Please keep us updated.
