Good morning everyone! I got some bad news from my Sister this morning; her step daughter (that lives out of state) broke her arm yesterday, and she might have to have surgery. She's at the orthopedist's right now, and they knocked her out so that they can manipulate the arm and see if they can keep the lateral motion under control while it heals. If not, she'll need to have rods in her arm for 8 months. Which will effectively cancel her baseball and wrestling activities for a good while.

We just had a text message from my sister's step-daughter's Mom; she is having rods put in her arm as I type. She broke both the radius and ulna in the left arm, and the orthopedist's opinion was that rods were unavoidable. She'll have them in for a certain amount of time, then she'll have to have surgery again to remove them. Boo. Looks like it's time for Aunt MerryBells to spoil her step-niece again.
ouch.
I have known a couple of people that needed that done, recovery was good for them both. I think you may be wrong about the 8 month thing, theirs were only in for 6 to 8 weeks. Maybe the doc was referring to the recovery time with physical therapy that will be needed when it all comes out.
Give her a big hug and let her know we are praying for her.

Sorry to hear that. you never know from one day to the other what life is gonna throw at you !! am sure she is in bad from over it

Off to two classes and then coming home to study! It is going to be a good TV night tonight! Penguins game, One Tree Hill, Survivor, and Revenge!

Okay question:
Has a new season of Survivor on? if so is it still on CBS and what time does it come on,and who is watching this? How far are they into the season,(how many ppl have been banished)? I always try to watch Survivor but I thought it only came on in Sept, I watch Big Brother and even get the Live Feeds on the net,so when it ends in Sept I am burned out and I never can wwatch the whole season of survivor...I don't have specific shows I watch except Big brother in the summer...I want to try to watch Survivor though if I can start at the beginning of a season I think Iwould get hooked on it!

I am feeling really down today, I have been hanging around home for 5 weeks now waiting for my foot to heal, which it is doing very well, but I just want to go back to my normal work routine.

Hope you are feeling better today!

Well I had planned on tagging along with you and your husband but it sounds like you want to be alone. So I guess I'll just have to sit here all by myself.

Lol...the movie theater was so packed that you could have come along. You could have sat down beside me and I would have never known it was you!

I was thoroughly impressed. I am sure that you will like it! And, I hope your DH enjoys it as much as I did.

I really enjoyed it and he did too. I was impressed that it was based a true story. I didn't know that before going into the movie last night.

Watching Mash, they are showing a Christmas show. It is the one where they are trying to keep a wounded man alive until after Christmas so his children will not have to remember Christmas as the day their father died. Father Mulcahy
said that "Christmas should be thought of as a day of life"
They are also having a big Christmas party for a local orphanage.

Sugar - I hope that ear infection is a bit better and hope you enjoy your night out

My ear is pretty much feeling 100% and we really had a great night out! Thanks!

All the best to your son! I have a few friends that have Celiac. It seems to be increasing in popularity, which isn't good. However, at the same time, more people are becoming aware of the alternatives and accommodating to those that do have the disease. Good luck tomorrow. Blood tests are never fun.

Excellent! I had no idea either. Kim mentioned it to me just before it started... Oh, and it said - based on true events, too!

This reminds me of my mom's husband's father. He past away on Boxing Day a few years back. While he laid in his bed, dying of cancer and other things, he told Bruce (my mom's husband) that he just wanted to make it past Christmas Day for the same reason. He was fought until Boxing Day morning.

MY ARTHRITIS IS GOING FULL THROTTLE & I TOLD MY FAMILY I WILL PROBABLY STAY IN BED TODAY AFTER I TAKE DAUGHTER TO SCHOOL THIS MORNING. IT HURTS TO STAND, WALK, USE MY ARMS OR HANDS.

Hope you feel better soon!

Good afternoon, everyone!

It has been a very warm/mild day so far. Temperatures are above freezing. The Weather Network said we had some rainfall, but we've only had wet snow in the northern part of Ottawa.

Kim and I had a nice low-key Valentine's Day last night. We had a delicious Greek dinner and watched a couple of our shows - including my favourite show - and planned a few things for the weekend. She really enjoyed her flowers. My wallet did not like the $50 that they cost, but she was really happy!

Tonight, I have to go to the gym for a couple hours. I am still only doing light weights. It is a little boring, but it has to be done. Thankfully, this injury will not take as long to heal as my torn hamstring from last season. I think not being able to lift/workout was even more painful than the injury itself. Other than that, I will be watching the Bruins vs. Habs game. And, of course, hoping that the Bruins will come out on top. We shall see.

We're on the other half of the work week now. The traditional Wednesday 'Pines Day is upon us. We can now see the weekend as we begin our descent. Have a great Wednesday, everyone! Hope your Valentine's Day was wonderful.

I guess I should have read on! Praying for her through her surgery and for a quick recovery!
