You have EVERY reason to be proud!!!

Work is done, day off tomorrow, I have my good days and bad days with the foot, and today was a good day, very little pain today. JP, who is only 6 years old, finished reading his first chapter book, Diary of a Wimpy Kid, I am so proud of him, his reading level is so beyond first grade, and his thirst for knowledge is just like mine. He just feeds his mind with things he is interested in, after the tornado last June, instead of fearing them he got really into them, he knows so much about tornadoes, he can tell you about updrafts, downdrafts, scud, anything about them it is amazing. We congratulated him finishing the book by getting him the next in the series, Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Rodrick Rules. I am so proud of him! He also went with the Cub Scouts today and built a birdhouse for the returning bluebirds. We also signed him up for swimming and baseball for the spring, he is going to be one busy boy.

I hope that you feel better and that the cough goes away soon. I will keep you in my prayers that you can get over this quickly!

I feel so awful, it seems like so many of our members are either sick, hit a rough patch with health, have things going on within their families, have had recent severe weather, or have been working nonstop. These posts do not go unnoticed to me and while I may not directly reply to them all, I read each and every one. I mention you all in my prayers before I go to bed at night and when anyone needs a special prayer request, I say that separately.

I am either going to go watch some TV or go lay in bed with a book before I try to sleep. I ate McDonald's too late so now it's bothering my stomach and my foot/ankle is killing me. Oh well, tomorrow is a new day!

Sleep well and sweet dreams everyone!

Good Morning, Weekend Part II Friends.

If yesterday's count started off your weekend great, then today's will provide an even nicer ending:
Days to the Season: 254
Days to Christmas Day: 296
Barely over 1 1/2 weeks now until our number three Milestone of 2012, the 1/3 mark to the Season.
(Now there's something to toast with your glass of iced tea this morning!)

A cool and damp but otherwise fairly comfortable start to the day this morning at 44 degrees.
Should be drier after quite a bit of recent rain, but we will be in for a cool spell with the temp possibly dropping back below freezing for a night or two this coming week.

Folks. You have a Super Sunday now, OK?

Sunny Sunday here in middle Norway.
I have baked bread and pavlova and are now making dinner.
It's one of the traditionally Norwegian Christmas Eve dinners: Pinnekjøtt
(but not to us) Pinnekjøtt is rib of lamb, which has been salted and dried
So it's smells good here now!

& ya'll are gonna be busy rents! wow. that's really great that he's such a good reader. so often kids aren't. i could never get mine interested in books, only if i read them to them or took turns w/ them. your JP is going to be a bushel of knowledge, so wonderful!!

as i'm posting this my heart is full & heavy. i'm trying to be happy & finding it difficult as so many of my mc family are dealing w/ so much. everyone of you mean the world to me & i've never met 1 of you.

Just have the Cub Scout bowl-a-thon today, and that is our only plan. I won't be bowling, I will rest my foot, but the boys will be.

Wayne and I went to Canton, Texas yesterday to First Monday Trade Days, only opened Thursday-Sunday? (What happened to Monday??) It actually takes place those days each month before the first Monday of the month. It's a tradition that started over 150 years ago in Canton. In the 1850's it started out with people trading/selling goods and livestock. Today is spans over 100 acres of shopping and they sell just about everything from clothes, food, tools, cars, antiques, crafts, furniture and more. They even had a few carnival rides for the kids.

I saw some vintage Christmas items. Made, they had Jim Shore Christmas goodies too!

I have been there before but it was the first time for Wayne. We had a nice time but I feel like I have been beat up! Ha ha! Lots of walking and sunshine. Great exercise for sure!
