Seawaters Update!

I was expecting her daughter to call but guess what? Cherylle called me herself and sounded very well considering what she just went through. The surgery was expected to last 5 1/2 hours but only took around 4! She said she is in a little pain and tired but doing good. Her request to the doctor is that she wanted an IV with coffee and Chardonnay.

She wanted to thank all of you for your thoughts and prayers and said they worked! I did tell her that we are all talking about her on here and couldn't wait to hear from her.

She said she might try to pop in on here tonight.

BRILLANT NEWS THANK GOD

Thank you so very much for giving us this update - I am sure I speak for everyone when I say that it is very much appreciated! I am so relieved that Cherylle's surgery went well, I said a few prayers for her throughout the day. When you know that someone is in surgery, you keep thinking of it all day!

If she pops in here tonight that it would be a great sign! I have had surgery a few times before and unluckily for me, the anesthesia makes me as sick as a dog despite the anti-nausea stuff. Ick. The doctors should totally fulfill her request and give her the Chardonnay - or at least the coffee!

Thanks again!

i'll take the chardonnay binger can bring the coffee!

oh this is wonderful news!!!!! thank you so much cah for the update. may God bless seawaters, the docs, nurses, all the medical staff, & cah for keeping us informed!!!!!!!yaay!

i sure hope they keep her pain under control. whew i'm so relieved to have this news! thanks again cah!!

Good evening, MMC!

What a gorgeous day it has been today! I took a mile long walk at lunch and enjoyed the fresh air - it was still rather cool out because the wind was so strong, though.

Tomorrow I go pick Palmer up from the vets. I really miss her - it is empty without her bed (I put it in her crate so that she would have something comforting and familiar with her) and it is quiet without her jingle ball playing. It will be so good to have her back home!

I am very tired so am going to log off the computer. Have a MERRY evening!

As Sewaters mentioned, her daughter will call me when her surgery is over. The surgery will begin 8:30 am pst and last about 5 1/2 hours. I will be back later to update you all.

Just like the rest of you, Seawaters is heavy on my mind today!

In case you are on here before your surgery, Seawaters, we are all here for you! (((hugs)))

She was certainly on my mind even whilst I slept.

This is wonderful news! How awesome that she felt up to calling you herself to let us know she was okay. She's with us in spirit at the Pines tonight since I have my FB page dialed to the SeaWaters station.

:-P Good news for SeaWaters and my friend Bekki. Her husband snuck away from the hospital today so he could check in on their pets and stopped by to give me a face-to-face update. That was so sweet of him. He wanted me to know that they're just waiting on a bed in our local hospital and she'll come back hopefully for the weekend and soon after is expected to be able to go home. They have quite a flight of stairs though so it might take at least another week. She was up walking around the ICU ward late yesterday and this morning. Her brain surgery was a delicate procedure and the surgeon mentioned that he was concerned initially about temporary paralysis, but she's fine in that regard and today all of her other gadgets were removed and the bandages came off her head. It's only been two days since the surgery. Thanks for keeping Bekki and Steve in your thoughts and prayers - the force worked!!!

:-x Now, let's see what I have in my merry song stash to delight the Shispering Pines fans.

Our musical turned out great, the kids did a fantastic job!

We did have a scare before it started. 15 min before the start our choir directors husband appeared to have a stroke (he is 74) He was coherent but slurred his words. An ambulance came to take him to the hospital. He told her to finish with the kids since they would be doing a bunch of tests and making her wait in the waiting room anyway.
We prayed with her, then talked to the kids about what had happened. She did really well and went off to the hospital after it was done. Waiting to get an email about how he is doing.

I am like you all and stunned that Cherylle called me herself! I never spoke with her on the phone before and when she said, "Sheila, this is Cherylle", I paused and said, "Cherylle? or Cherylle's daughter"? Her throat was just a little scratchy but she sounded so alert! She said her throat felt a little sore. That sense of humor is the same on the phone as it is on here. It was great to hear her joke around after going through that!

I am just so relieved she got that over with! She expressed her gratitude for all of you several times.

I'm Irish - I can use singing shamrocks all year long - don't have to wait for St. Pat's Day.

Santa’s On His Sleigh composed by Auntie Mistletoe based on the lyrics and tune of “I’m Leaving on a Jet Plane’ (as performed by Janis Joplin, John Denver and others)

The sleigh is loaded he’s ready to soar
Down the chimney he comes
Or by way of my front door
I can hardly wait to discover my surprise
Reindeer pausing on my roof
I hear Santa munching his treat
Stuffing my stocking
Listening to my festive music, tapping his feet
I’m trying so hard to shut my eyes

*Chorus: Santa’s sleigh is flying high
Meeting up with Santa Trackers in the sky
Norad is also there to keep him safe
‘cause Santa’s coming, it’s Christmas Eve
I can’t understand why you don’t believe
Santa’s real and the elves are too

There’s a place called the North Pole
I know it’s true ’cause I’ve been to school
Dear, you must feel the magic in you
Everywhere I go, I hear Santa’s cool
Every card I write, spreads glad tidings too
When Christmas is gone,
I begin to feel so blue

Santa’s sleigh is flying high
Meeting up with Santa Trackers in the sky
Norad is also there to keep him safe
‘cause Santa’s coming,
It’s Christmas Eve
I can’t understand why you don’t believe
Santa’s real and the elves are too

Now the time has come, it’s Christmas morn
Mrs. Claus is waiting
For Santa’s returning sleigh horn
A sweet Mistletoe kiss they share
The reindeer frolic merrily
Families race to their decorated trees
Others go to Church, to recall
That first Christmas Day

Santa’s sleigh is flying high
Meeting up with Santa Trackers in the sky
Norad is also there to keep him safe
‘cause Santa’s coming,
It’s Christmas Eve
I can’t understand why you don’t believe
Santa’s real and the elves are too

Families race to their decorated trees
Others go to Church, to recall
That first Christmas Day
That first Christmas Day
That first Christmas Day

"The show must go on" is a wonderful attitude, but I wouldn't have been able to let my husband go off on his own - then again maybe I might if he was able to speak because without a stand-in for the choir director how could they pull it all off? Hope everything's okay.

a friend of theirs did go with him to the hospital, he had just come in for the show when they were wheeling John out.

I too am not sure I could have stayed for it all, I would have wanted to go with my husband.

Posters of The DeFranco Family, The Jackson 5, Donny & the Osmonds, Leif Garrett, Andy Gibb, David and Shaun Cassidy along with a few others adorned my bedroom closet door in the early to mid-70’s along with several popular TV stars. Poor Donny, I wore the lips off that poster kissing him goodnight. Tiger Beat and Teen Beat magazines were gifts at Christmas and Birthdays for many years. See if you know the original song based on my version.

Glowy Feelin'

Don’t y’all know I get a glowy feeling
Every time you post
And it always sets me thinking ‘bout Christmas
Y’all are the most

Y’all keep me smiling
As we countdown through the year
And that feeling is increasing
‘Cause Christmas is inching closer and nearly here.

Abracadabra, Alicazam
Abracadabra, thanks from another Christmas fan!
