Beware, Cstar! The spell checker WILL betray you one day!

A Little Poem Regarding Computer Spell Checkers...

Eye halve a spelling chequer
It came with my pea sea
It plainly marques four my revue
Miss steaks eye kin knot sea.

Eye strike a key and type a word
And weight four it two say
Weather eye am wrong oar write
It shows me strait a weigh.

As soon as a mist ache is maid
It nose bee fore two long
And eye can put the error rite
Its rare lea ever wrong.

Eye have run this poem threw it
I am shore your pleased two no
Its letter perfect awl the weigh
My chequer tolled me sew.

I once was a proofreader at an engineering firm where the engineers preferred to use spell checkers rather than take the time for professional proofreaders to check their documents. An engineer once reluctantly brought me an important proposal. "You won't need to spend much time on this---I used the spell checker," he said. He wasn't quite so confident when I pointed out that we were proposing a "dead engineer" instead of a "lead engineer." From then on, whenever somebody tries to sneak past proofreading, I tell them they'd better let me check their document for dead engineers. (P.S. The same thing happened another time, but the term in question was "shift supervisor." Draw your own conclusions.)

The moral of the story: Computers will never replace proofreaders!

I woke up wondering if I had a spelling error here on the forums. I couldn't imagine mispelling the same thing in three places, but I would have if I had not corrected it myself before I hit the "submit" button. It's funny how thoughts sneak into your brain when you are typing. I had SeaWaters in the Pines with us last night via her FB page and I was adding some tidbits about Carl and whenever I typed that word and looked again it didn't say TIDBITS the "d" was replaced by a "T" so you see Cherylle's still very much on my mind. Then all day at work I realized I had forgotten to check the spot in the countdown where I typed the same word and thankfully there wasn't an error, however I left the letter "K" of of know and just had "now" so I had to fix it. I guess it's the writer in me and the denial that I'm capable of human error.

You see I'm an android elf from the North Pole and ..... oh never mind.

What a beautiful day it was!

The short time I managed to get outside I sure enjoyed it! Had windows and doors open for a time here!

I was only outside for a short time today, too. Tomorrow looks to be warm as well. The only downside is that it should be full of rain. Lots of it. At least it will wash away all/most of the snow!

Beautiful weather yesterday - rain and then wild wacky snow for about an hour and now it's thinking about raining again. Guess we have to have it to get rid of the snow. The creek is running so that's a good sign.

Just wanted to stop in real quick and say goodnight! I thought I would be able to catch up on the posts today, but I was unable to since I was so busy.

I will try to tomorrow and that is a promise! Know that I am thinking and praying for all of you. Continuing to pray for (((Dawg and Seawaters)))

Carl is typing this for me, so please excuse the errors. I HAVE to say that PRAYER WORKS!!! This whole ay has been nothing short of MIRACULOUS!!! I will tell you about the miracles when I can type at home. It i very hard for Carl to type on my tablet! AND that might be TOMORROW!!! I have to take a walk, so TTYL.

Good evening, MMC!

Tomorrow I go pick Palmer up from the vets. I really miss her - it is empty without her bed (I put it in her crate so that she would have something comforting and familiar with her) and it is quiet without her jingle ball playing. It will be so good to have her back home!

I can relate to that from when O'Malley was little. He's been a very healthy cat, but when he was younger we took him in for his neutering two night stay and I was worried about him. I worried, but didn't call the first day, the next day I phoned before I went to work and we were picking him up after work, but I had to call and make sure everything went okay. They fell in love with him because when the Vets little girl was crying because she was removing a sliver from her hand O'Malley cried right along with her and they thought that was so sweet and caring. When we travel, we limit our trips to no more than three nights so he won't be alone too long. Sure hope Palmer is feeling much better.

Thanks I was in and out pretty quick myself and missed something there.

Good afternoon, MMC!

Well, Palmer is home now and she has to stay in her crate as she wants to run around and get into things and I cannot have her stitches breaking open. She was spayed yesterday - normally a routine operation, but with her past medical problems, there was a higher chance that she could develop complications. She got the all clear, though, and I just have to keep tabs on her stitches for the next 10 days. The hard part will be keeping her out of mischief.

She was so happy to see me this morning - started purring right away cheesy

Thank you to all who asked about her!

Have a MERRY day!!!

I'm sure she'll bounce back quickly. O'Malley was really good about his healing and didn't seem to fuss with the stitches or anything. Sometimes O'Malley gets spooked by things and if we can't find him in his usual hiding spots, we'll find him in his pet taxi. The door is always open and after housework on the weekends I sometimes toss a few treats in there so he won't think it's a bad thing to travel in it. Glad you have your dear Palmer back home.

Hi all,

Lousy day at work, bosses on my case, and my foot was very cranky and painful today. I quickly read today's posts and chose my Christmas song of the day "Riu Chiu" by the Monkees, so I am going to say good night now.

Have a great night everyone!

Thinking of you Seawaters!

Good afternoon, everyone!

The gym last night was fun. Just as I was finishing, about four or five friends came in for their workouts. It's always good to see friends/teammates training hard, too. Although I'd like a night off, I think I may be heading to Carleton tonight for another workout. Tomorrow will be my off evening. Even after two days in a row - working a few different things, of course - I am still feeling quite refreshed.

Well, I should get back to work. Glad to see that everyone is in bright spirits today. There is only a couple more hours left in my day and then there will only be one remaining day before the weekend!

Have a great Thursday, everyone! The weekend is only a day and a half away! Oh, and our next milestone is closing in, too!

:whisper: I love my early morning work outs! I can't pull it off late in the day because I'll get too tired or a better offer might pop up or I'll find an excuse like the noise of the weights or something and not go. Starting off my day at the gym is awesome! We've had a competition going on as a fun challenge to go virtually across Canada to inspire others to "get fit". Currently I'm running on water near PEI because there wasn't enough room on land to place my marker. I completed the challenge a day early and accidently lost 10 lbs. I wasn't trying to lose weight and thought I was gaining muscle so I was surprised. Some my co-workers or other members have often encouraged each other to keep at it and work harder. I have been having physio on my right shoulder from an old skiing accident. I guess it started to bother me again from using the punching bag. A few times I didn't feel like working out because it was sore then I thought about SeaWaters and my friend Bekki and other people who are in more pain than me and I pushed myself to be strong like the strength they have shown. I'm please with my efforts and I know I'll keep at it.

Too bad I'm not your boss - I motivate people and empower them to reach their goals and complete tasks instead of getting "on anyone's case". I guess I'm not really a boss, I'm a cheerleader and a coach! Hope your foot feels like tap dancing soon.

Seawaters- Still praying for you

Dawg- It's good to see you back. I'm still praying for you and your family.

Xmas- I hope work goes better for you tomorrow.

OMG I made it back.. why did my computer suddenly stop loading the site? YABBA

It's good to see you back friend!!!!!!! I don't think anyone knows for sure what is happening. The server just seems to ban people on it's own and then a couple of days later it lets them back on.

You all are part of the Miracle Network. And, now, from Pauline Harvey, you will hear the rest of the story. (I am home from the hospital, by the way.) I want to preface this by saying I ALWAYS do what the doctors tell me to do, always.

On Monday, I went to the doctor to get the INT (intravenous nutrient therapy) and even got some $ off!!!.

When I went to my car, I received a phone call from my oncologist. He said he had set up an appointment with a cardiologist. It appears the EKG at the pre-op showed some irregularities. Then the cardiologist called and we drove to Redding. He set up a stress test for the following day to see if I could be cleared for surgery on Wednesday. Well, no stress there!!! I went up on Tuesday for the stress test and the doctor said I was FINE, absolutely no problems except for a small murmur that I already knew about!!! He did set up an appointment for me to return in a year for another stress test. He cleared me for surgery.

I had developed a BAD cough AND a cold sore from one of my students on the last day in the classroom. It was definitely a chest cold. The oncologist sent me to my regular doctor. She prescribed an antibiotic, just to be safe, and some cough medicine. My cat-sitting friend told me about Mucinex. So I bought that and some Abreva and began swilling that stuff (Mucinex) down. I sounded terrible and knew the surgery would be called off. My cold cleared up a lot and the cold sore went away completely by surgery day. The anesthesiologist check my lungs, and they were perfectly clear, even with a cough!!!

I had to have eight shots, four in each breast, to inject me with dye and radioactive material for the sentinel node excision. I felt NO PAIN WHATSOEVER!!! The radiologist was amazed. Just before the shots, they checked my blood pressure. It was 116/70!!! My pulse rate was 54!!! I was so calm, and no one could believe it. The surgery took less time than the doctors anticipated. I have honestly felt NO PAIN from the surgery, only a soreness like when you start exercising after a long period of not having exercised.

I was progressing so well that the doctor asked me if I wanted to go home. He set me up with two home-health nurses that will come daily to check on me until my appointment with him on March 15.

When I got home from the hospital, the cardiologist had left a message that after rechecking my report I did NOT need to see him in a year for a stress test, but he would like to touch base with me to see how my exercise plan was going!!!

And now you know the rest of the story!!!

Hey Seawaters! it is good to hear from you!!! I keep you in my prayers daily and hope all is well with you!

Oh, the MAIN thing: when the nurses and doctors asked me why I was doing so well, I told them that I had nuns, saints, and all the angels in heaven praying for me; but most of all, I had a wonderful Christmas family that was the best support of all.

That is so awesome...just like you.
