Christmas Countdown - 2012

It is overcast and breezy this morning in northern California. I did not sleep well last night. I had a nightmare about my sub!!! I dreamed she changed all my specials (PE, computers, library, and music) to be first thing in the morning. She moved a king-sized bed into the classroom so she could sleep while the kids were out of the classroom. Then she had to get friends to help her because it was so hard to teach third graders! Okay, dream analysts, what does it all mean?

One day I had lunch with some friends. Jim , a short, balding golfer type about 80 years old, came along with them---all in all, a pleasant bunch. When the menus were presented, we ordered salads, sandwiches, and soups, except for Jim who said, "Ice Cream, please. Two scoops, chocolate. I wasn't sure my ears heard right, and the others were aghast. "Along with heated apple pie," Jim added, completely unabashed. We tried to act quite nonchalant, as if people did this all the time.. But when our orders were brought out, I didn't enjoy mine. I couldn't take my eyes off Jim as his pie a-la-mode went down. The other guys couldn't believe it. They ate their lunches silently and grinned. The next time I went out to eat, I called and invited Jim. I planned to lunch on white meat tuna. He ordered a parfait. I smiled. He asked if he amused me I answered, "Yes, you do, but also you confuse me. How come you order rich desserts, while I feel I must be sensible?" He laughed and said "I'm tasting all that is possible. I try to eat the food I need, and do the things I should. But life's so short, my friend, I hate missing out on something good. This year I realized how old I was. (He grinned) I haven't been this old before." So, before I die, I've got to try those things that for years I had ignored. I haven't smelled all the flowers yet. There are too many trout streams I haven't fished. There's more fudge sundaes to wolf down and kites to be flown overhead. There are too many golf courses I haven't played. I've not laughed at all the jokes. I've missed a lot of sporting events and potato chips and Cokes. I want to wade again in water and feel ocean spray on my face I want to sit in a country church once more and thank God for His grace. I want peanut butter every day spread on my morning toast. I want un-timed long distance calls to the folks I love the most. I haven't cried at all the movies yet, or walked in the morning rain. I need to feel wind on my face. I want to be in love again. So, if I choose to have dessert, instead of having dinner, then should I die before night fall, I'd say I died a winner, because I missed out on nothing. I filled my heart's desire. I had that final chocolate mousse before my life expired...."With that, I called the waitress over. "I've changed my mind, " I said. "I want what he is having, only add some more whipped cream!" This is my gift to you - We need an annual Friends Day! Live well, love much & laugh often. Be happy. SHARE THIS WITH YOUR FRIENDS. Be mindful that happiness isn't based on possessions, power, or prestige, but on relationships with people we like and respect. Remember that while money talks, CHOCOLATE ICE CREAM SINGS!

Good afternoon everyone!
Only a few hours left until the weekend begins. I'm excited for this weekend. St Patrick's Day should be interesting on a Saturday. More so, however, I am also looking forward to our 4 on 4 indoor tournament. Should be a great time! Afterward, my friends have invited everyone over for a BBQ. Normally, this would be unheard of in March, however with 16C (61F) on Saturday and then 22C (72F) on Sunday, outdoor celebrations must occur. We'd be lucky to have this weather in May. The jet stream is very messed up at the moment. I'll take it for now.
After today I will have 10 more days of employment at my job. I've been searching for jobs ever since I got this one. I'm actually starting to receive some call backs now, but we'll see what they amount to...
I hope everyone enjoys the rest of their Friday. We're almost nine days away from our next Milestone. Thanks for that, Crown! The Christmas Day Milestones are quite the accomplishment! They just keep coming!

We are driving down to see my parents this weekend. My mom seems to be getting weaker. Hope everyone has a great weekend.

the runny nose has slowed to a drip, but I have no energy at all. I just put some scones in the oven and feel like I just finished a marathon. I am no used to this being sick thing, do not like it at all!

That i dont no. but i have ofter heard it say a dream is not what it means.
Maybe inside your sub consience you are wondering how she is getting on. and if she is changing any thing . you no the saying " new kings makes new laws."

Just getting home from a very very busy day at work!!! Another week gone another week closer to summer and then Christmas!!! I don't know what our plans are..I think it's going to be a quiet weekend with us locking ourselves inside the house and just relaxing and watching tv and movies. Brandi goes back to teaching on Monday after a week of spring break. I hope everyone has a great weekend...the weather is just great....a little too much pollen in the air but other than that it's been great!!! have a great weekend everyone!

I am about to run to the mall with my mom to shop and grab lunch. We went out for lunch yesterday but it was really icky. I had a steak salad and they put roast beef lunch meat on there - uh, pretty sure that doesn't count as strip steak lol. Anyways - hopefully I have better luck today with lunch but I cannot eat any meat because of Lent.
I am so excited for the weekend. We're grilling hamburgers & hot dogs tomorrow, and then steaks on Sunday. Plus I'm fitting some cornhole into my schedule

Quick update on my Niece. The therapist has been working with her the last couple of days and can't get the dizziness to go away again. So she had a follow up appointment with her regular doctor today and he didn't have a clue. So he called the Neurologist that she saw at the children's hospital and they want my sister to bring her back down to the ER. So thats where they are headed now.

Bless her heart. There's nothing worse than a sick child that you can't help. Praying she feels better soon!

Noooo.......wouldn't say Crown = plaid............sleep, maybe but not plaid!
Poor dear, hope they soon find out what is going on with her. It so hard to watch a child in pain.
I will keep her in my thoughts
