merrymistletoe: Will has found a treasure in your family - amazing story! Thank you so much for sharing it with us ((hugs))

Good afternoon, Christmas family!

This morning I took Palmer in to have her stitches out. She was petrified and was hiding under her bed inside the carrier. Poor dear! She is doing fine now - she has her jingle ball back and the carrier is out of sight until she does something bad - it is her timeout spot when she is home. She has been a little angel so far today cheesy

Gorgeous day out - tomorrow we are going to be in the high 80s. I did see that the extended forecast has called for cooler temps in a few days and a few nights are going to be in the freeze zone. I hope the trees do not open their buds until after all possibility of a freeze passes! When I dropped my library book off this morning, I saw that the daffodils alongside the building were open - such a happy flower and one of my favorites!

Have a MERRY day!!!

Thanks meceks.
all good at my end and what way are you now ???

Good afternoon, MMCers! How is everyone's day going? I just got up for the day. I am ready to go and ready to read the posts.

I don't really anything planned for this evening. We'll just eat dinner, play with the kids, and if the weather stays decent, possibly go on a walk.

Nothing is new here. Work is still so busy. A hospital here in my area is closing, so the one I work at is only getting busier and we don't have the room or the staff to fit people. I am not sure how we will keep accommodating. It should be interseting.

Well, off to read the posts. Hope you're all having a wonderful day. Keep smiling. That's what keeps me going!

if ya'll would just lift her up in your prayers i would really appreciate it!

Of course a prayer will be said. but hopefully it will help her pain in the long run..

Good evening, Christmas family

Today is the last day of my three days off. What a stressful week last week. I did call on Friday and talked to my supervisor and she was really nice. She told me overall things are fine and that I am NOT in trouble. She said the radiologists call them all the time and complain about stuff. That made me feel better, even though the error I made WAS really stupid.

Hermione did fine at her vet visit. She got the next set of shots and she just has her rabies in two weeks. Then hopefully it is off to puppy school !! We got one of those steabelt restrainer type things to keep her in the back seat and keep her safe so my husband can take her to the doctor by himself.

I bought a new laptop !! It seems pretty nice but then I guess they all do when they are brand new. It is an HP DV7. I don't know. I researched all kinds of laptops and I just can't afford one that is $1300 or something awy high like that. This one seemed to have decent reviews, I hope !!

Glad to hear you got things worked out with your supervisor. Hope things will be worked out for you at work now.

Glad to hear that Hermione is doing so well. That is great!

I am glad you like your new laptop! I love getting new things like that. It always feels like Christmas!

Good morning Christmas friends!
I'm back from Amsterdam.
Feel a bit "hungover" today, but not by drinking! =]
I'm just exhausted and a bit sick (still)
But we had a great weekend!

Spring was in the air in Amsterdam.
And it was no snow when we landed her yesterday.
But after five minutes it started snowing, and it's still snowing!!
Now there is about 25 cm of snow here!!
So we came home to Winterland! With a bit of a cold for the bought us...

Hope everybody is doing fine! ♥

So glad to hear you enjoyed your trip. Hope your husband enjoyed his birthday weekend!

Good Monday afternoon, my Christmas friends!

Wow, it's been busy here at work today! It can be frustrating sometimes, but it makes the day pass by quicker.

I worked all day at the store Saturday. The store is in the middle of town, at the intersection of two GA highways. One of the highways parallels a set of train tracks, so there is an old train depot right across the road from the store. The city now owns it, and we use it for local voting, we rent it out for parties, and it's where I was sworn in. Anyway, it was restored several years ago, and it's very nice and rustic, so some local photographers use it and the tracks as picture backgrounds.

While I was at work Saturday, I noticed a group of people at the depot. They were there to photograph a local beauty queen of some sort. She was wearing a tiara, anyway. After a few pictures, they held up towels and she changed clothes next to the highway behind these towels! When she was done, I offered the inside of the depot for her to use as a changing room. They were happy for that, till we found that that depot was locked. It's never locked! I don't even know if I hav a key...LOL! Some Mayor I am!

I hope y'all have a great day! cheesy

Another beautiful day in the neigbourhood! 22c, whole neighbourhood is out enjoying it.
I am making pizza for supper, dancing with the stars starts tonight.

Will finally finished high school. He had played in the Shrine Bowl his senior year & received a scholarship for football to S.C. state. Will came home often & stayed w/ us on the weekends he was home. Will is a very quiet boy & doesn't tell you a whole lot, you have to ask him. After feeling close enough to him to ask, we found out before going to college he stayed all different places, never had a home, hardly had much more than what was on his back. Fortunately, w/ the help of the same coach who had helped him before, he had gotten what he needed for college.
Thanksgiving came & Will came home. After my husband, Phil, & I discussed it, we asked Will to consider our place his home, he accepted. We bought another bed for him, dresser for him, & he & my son, Seth, share a room.
Will's 2nd year @ state he began to get sick, the coaches were not understanding @ all. He was always tired. To the point of exhaustion. In the spring we decided he would forgo the football scholarship & come home to go to school in town here. The coaches were furious & he even caught alot of slack from his high school coaches here in town. Over that summer we went on a family vacation. We all noticed this terrible cough Will had. As soon as we got home he went to the doctor. He was waiting on a rx from the pharmacy & passed out. Over the next 2 weeks it was horrible. All kinds of doc's testing for everything under the sun. He was transferred to another/better hospital where we learned he had Sarcoidosis. This illness can affect the kidneys, skin, eyes, or lungs. It's an immune disease the doc's think he inherited from his mother. Yes, his mother had this condition & it affected her lungs, thus causing the COPD. The doc's concluded it was affecting his kidneys although he did have a cough from it. His skin has dry patches all over it & i had bought all kinds of face creams & stuff but nothing worked. Turns out his was from the Sarcoidosis too.
Will is now on steroids & has been since September of last year, in very high doses. He has began a new rx that is to eventually take the place of the steroids. The doc's do feel like they caught it in time & that it will go into remission. Will goes to all his check ups & is doing very well now. We are working now on his vitamin D & calcium levels, they're much too low & he takes daily supplements now for it.
Will's dad has been in & out of prison, his older brother lives in a different town, & his grandparents (on dad's side) are here in town but they sure didn't help him out. You wouldn't believe the family that came to the hospital though. Family I had NEVER met came out of the woodworks.
Will's dad is now out of prison &, I don't know, he's calling Will getting him to take him places, helped him buy some new rims & tires for his car....Not sure how it will all turn out but that's our story.

What a touching story. Your family are great people for taking Will in and making him your son and making him a part of your family. I am glad to hear that his illness, is currently at the point where he is feeling better and I hope he continues to feel this way. God Bless him and your entire family.

We were very busy with my girlfriend & her Mom in town, and St. Patty's Day of course. Yesterday was our lazy day, watched movies & cooked a big dinner.

Sounds like you had a nice weekend. Hope you had lots of fun!

Oh my, Shellie! That's terrible! There is still another hospital here in the city I live in. It's huge. It has a trauma center, stroke center...blah, blah, blah. The whole works. The hospital I work at is at about a 25 minute drive away. That is still a haul though.
