Good Wednesday afternoon, my Christmas friends!

I was out all morning. I forgot my son was in the regional spelling bee at a school about 30 miles from here. He won second place in regional 8th grade! He would have won, but he got a little too cocky at the end. SYMPATHIZE was the word. He knew how to spell it, but was going too fast and got the "I" before the "H". He knew he did it and backed up...but it was too late. Once the letter gets out of your mouth, it's out.

He was satisfied with 2nd place, and so were we. We took him out to eat at one of his favorite restaurants, then checked him out of classes early, as a pat on the back for a job well done.

I hope y'all have a great day! cheesy

Congrats to him!

Good evening Yule-igans,

Long night at work, but I left them in good shape for tomorrow. I am not used to having Thursdays off, of course my foot hurts a lot tonight, I stepped wrong and I felt a shooting pain go through my foot. It will feel better in the morning just need a little rest. I will probably have foot pain for quite some time, I will ask the Dr. tomorrow about that.

It is supposed to be 80*F tomorrow, to warm for me, I am still waiting for winter to get here. Our tulips are popping up through the ground and one of our flowers has blooms on it, of course LC wants to pick it, but we tell him he can't yet.

Have a good night everyone.

Good evening, Christmas family

It was so beautiful today here. I got to see a little of it and then off to my work room to type. Radiology lasted most of the night tonight thankfully and I am not quite as exhausted tonight.

Is there anyone here who knows how to transfer files/data from one computer to another ??? I would like to have some of the stuff on my old laptop for my new one and I was wondering if it is something I can do myself...probably not..but it's a thought.

For my Christmas friends here who are also friends on Facebook, I am going to attempt to post some videos/pictures of Hermione soon on there. The operative word here is ATTEMPT !

In just four months it will be Christmas in July !!! Yipppeee !!!! I ordered Hallmark ornament memberships for my sister and myself for this year as I do every year. I also got my sister an extra ornament called Mrs. Claus' Cupboard. It is so adorable !! Last year Hallmark offered Santa's Armoir (spelling ??) I can't wait to see it !!

Seawaters - How are things going ?? If I could just get here like I used to I wouldn't have to ask so late in the day. I hope you are doing well xo

Made - How is your niece ??

I guess I will sign off for now. I may be back in a little bit .......I am still trying to grasp all the stuff on this new laptop. I do like Windows 7 but I sort of miss Windows XP......

Take care, dear Christmas family xo

Good morning!
Thursday. Soon its weekend again!
It's raining here today. I took som pictures of my son Isak (3) outside
with his umbrella this morning.
It's funny to see how much joy he can get from his umbrella! ♥

I would like to bake something new today. What do YOU usually bake?
Any favorite cake you bake? Any tips?

good morning ya'll!!
i still have that same Christmas song in my head. "why can't every day be like Christmas" by the king, Elvis. my mama used to listen to that all the time, actually any Elvis. a friend of mine made me an Elvis cd right after Christmas this year, i may have to plug it in! i love the lyrics to that song, so so true!!..."for if every day could be just like Christmas, what a wonderful world this would be". really missing it these days.
my b-i-l told me yesterday that my sis is up walking often & she says she doesn't hurt as bad when she's up & walking. that's a good thing as she's suppose to do alot of it! ended up she had a cist(spelling?) between 2 of her discs & the doc had to remove it. no screws required, that's good. i wish i was w/ her so badly.
my hubby says he's getting lots of work done. this company has made new machinery for their plant here @ home. they went over to test, trial, & figure it all out. 2 more days & he'll be home, yippy!!:???:

we have lots to do @ work. 1 of the high schools here is having their prom friday night & so many of them are coming in ordering wristlets & boutinierres(spelling?). another high school is having a military ball so we are busy, busy, busy!!

hope the morning finds ya'll bright eyed & bushy tailed w/ smiles on your beautiful faces!!!! have a wonderful, wonderful day ya'll!!!!!!!

That's what happened when my daughter was in the regionals a couple years ago. My son loves to be in the spotlight, but not Elizabeth. She messed up the first word, and came off the stage with tears of embarrassment streaming down her face.

I decided then that I don't want her in competition like that again. It broke my heart!

Hello everyone, I tend to skip some days without coming on here, so if I missed any responses to a post or anything like that I apologize. I do try to scan through and catch up, but I will miss something I am sure.

Made, How is your niece? I didn't see any updates on my scan through the posts, of course I might have missed it if you did. As I scanned through I looked for your posts and didn't see anything about her, I was just thinking about how she is doing.

My morning check-in before becoming immersed (drowned is more like it!) in proofreading. I'm wearing a Hawaiian shirt today in homage to the record-breaking warm weather here. Aloha, everyone!

If you can spare the money to buy an external hard drive, you can transfer your files to that, then connect your new computer to it and transfer the files there. Then you can use the external hard drive as a backup drive so you can recover your files in case the computer crashes.

Or if an external hard drive is too expensive---get a thumb drive and transfer your files a few at a time.

Or go to Dropbox.com, register for a free Dropbox, move the files you want to transfer into your Dropbox, open your Dropbox on your new computer, and download the files. (Depending on how many files you have, you might have to to this a few times to avoid going over the Dropbox's capacity.)

Some years ago, before thumb drives, I used an application that allowed me to connect the old computer and the new computer and move the files over. Maybe someone more tech-savvy would know if there's freeware out there that could do that for you. Best of luck with your new technology!

In just four months it will be Christmas in July !!! Yipppeee !!!!

I haven't indulged in Christmas in July, so I have a silly question: Is it the entire month in July? Or a particular day in July? Or just whatever time in July you feel like observing it? I was thinking of baking some cookies and getting some special treats this year to celebrate.

Any favorite cake you bake? Any tips?

Oh ... I really miss my grandmother's/mother's caramel frosting on a plain yellow cake from a cake mix. I can't give you tips, because I've never really made it successfully! For a time there was a canned frosting that was very close to it, but they stopped making it. :-?

Good Morning, my downhill-slope-to-the-Weekend Friends.

Yes, indeedy!
That peak-of-the-week view from the upper deck at the Shispering Pines was wonderful yesterday but now we are on that slippery slope down to Friday.

And what else is slipping away?
This:
Days to the Season: 236
Days to Christmas Day: 278
Just barely over HALF a week left now until the 1/4 Season Milestone to Christmas Day, number five on our handy-dandy post one chart!
(Does anyone ever look at that, BTW?)

Wet! Wet! Wet!
So much rain, the grass never gets dry enough for me to mow it.
(And the very fact I have to mow the grass in March is disconcerting to me.)
Regardless, I am enjoying the warm weather and we are already up to 60 degrees this morning, bound for the upper 70's if not 80 degrees by this afternoon.

You have a Thrilling Thursday, Folks!

I was just about to suggest the external hard drive. That is what I use to back up everything in case my computer ever crashes for good. I also used it to transfer to another computer.

You have some other great suggestions I never thought of.

I know you asked CM3 this question but I am sure everyone has different ideas for Christmas in July and thought I would share mine.

For me the official date is July 25th, the day QVC does all their marathon of Christmas sales. I really start getting in the mood for Christmas the whole month July. I don't really do a whole lot but I know some actually have a Christmas dinner and invite family over. I just play a lot of music, watch movies and QVC of course! During the segments of QVC that I don't watch (like toy sales) is when I put a movie in. I like the Christmas decorations part. I still have not bought anything from them but I sure enjoy watching it all day long!

Also Hallmark has their Christmas in July ornament sales that I enjoy!

I have the grandkids talking about Christmas in July too! cheesy

I find 4th of July exciting because right after it's over I get really focused more on Christmas than ever!
