good a.m. My MC family!!TGIF!!
hubby will be going to Belgium today & thinks he'll be able to call me....we'll see! i've never went a week w/out talking to him, heck i've never been a whole week w/out seeing him!
prom is tonight for an area high school. we are busy @ work.

my niece goes to that high school & is a junior. this would have been her 1st prom, she had gotten her dress, shoes, made her hair appointment & stuff...well she was getting out of her mom's car @ school on Wednesday & fell. she hurt her foot. that baby went on through part of the morning hurting & by 10 or 11 am her foot was blue. she kept an ice pack on it for the day. ended up she stayed home yesterday & her mom couldn't get her an appointment w/ an orthopeadic (spelling) until this morning. it's the outside part of her left foot i think. her foot is black now, no prom for her tonight! they said she was crying because of it. i feel so bad for her!

my sis is home from the hospital. she's walking alot. she says she hurts really bad when she gets up out of a chair. she tried to lay in bed but that hurt too much so she's in a recliner. she has the back brace but as of last night she wasn't wearing it. says she's gonna put it on 1st thing this morning. of course i fussed @ her about that (strictly out of love). told her it would probably help w/ the pain of getting up. she said, i don't know, i think it would be more aggravation. i'm like yeah vicky, they gave you the back brace just to aggravate you!! c'mon. i will be sure & call her late morning to make sure she's in it by then.

Happy Friday to ya'll! SMILES, LOVES, & HUGS!!:wiggy:

I hope she feels better quickly.

Good morning! Just wanted to stop in real quick and say hello.

I have been so sick the past two days with the flu. I actually had to call off of work last night, which is something I hardly ever do. I am sorry I never checked in, but I just wasn't feeling up to it.

I will be back on later sometime. Hope you're all having a great day.

I hope you feel better.

Good evening,

I stayed up WAY to late last night, I made it through the second period of the hockey game, which meant it was nearly 12:45 by the time I finally fell asleep, I get up around 5:15am, and Friday is my big delivery day, dozens and dozens of cases that weigh over 60lbs. So I am exhausted tonight. We had to go pick up a birthday present for our niece, and went to Red Robin for dinner, good burger, and their Buzzard Wings (very similar to Buffalo wings) were excellent. One more day until a day off, can't wait! I must get ready for the inevitable, getting ready for bed.

CM3- As someone who thoroughly dislike his job, I only stay for the money I make, I hate it but with 2 young children and a mortgage, I feel like I have no choice to stay with it, I also have 11+ years with the company and the perks of vacation time and such make it hard to switch now. If I could I would take a job for less money if it made me happier. I did try a few times years ago, even trying to get a job with Yankee Candle but it wasn't meant to be.

Have a good night everyone!

We had a very sad day last Wednesday, and I didn't post anything about it because I was so upset. Hobbs the Wonder Dog passed away, we think it was a stroke. We buried him in our back yard with his best friend Sandy, and thought we weren't getting any more dogs. Inflation and all, you know. But before two days were out, we both changed our minds. The house was just too quiet, and there was nobody to lick the plates when we were done eating.

So this morning, we went to the Anne Arundel Co. Animal Shelter, and came home with Victor. Victor is a mixed breed; he's part Jack Russell, but that's all we know. He is bigger than a Jack Russell, but what else he is is anyone's guess.

Anyway, here are a few pics of Victor to brighten your day.

Victor was as good as gold on the ride home. He was even reasonably well behaved in PetsMart. I took him next door to meet my Mom, and he washed her face very nicely. We are all very happy!

Oh-he came with the name "Victor", and I wondered "Why Victor?". But then it dawned on me- He looks like the "Victor/Victrola" dog.

First of all I am so sorry about the loss of Hobbs, I know how that feels all to well.

Victor is a cutie! He does look like the RCA dog.

All the time you have been on here I don't think I ever realized you live in Maryland, I am from Maryland originally. Born in Baltimore, moved to Westminster in Carroll County, then Taneytown also in Carroll. Most of my family still lives there.

Evening friends! Went to eat with a dear friend and his wife and then went to a late movie.. Good times.

See ya in the morning!

A quick update on my niece. She was even worse today so my other sister and my sister's chiropractor convinced my sister to take her back to the ER. The ER doctor called in a bunch of doctors and none of them really knew what to make of it. So they finally decided that it's conversion disorder (basically they don't know). They think that the stress from the arthritis is making her brain forget how to walk. They are saying that it will take months of therapy for her to learn how to walk again.

OMG what kind of people are they. no way!!
Have they checked everything????? if the brain is under stress they can give like nerve tablets , am not saying she is crazy or anything. but what they do is help the brain to work with the dizzyness
I have been there .dont have arthritis. they put me on betahistine which really is for inner ear probelms(which i did not have) but they work to help the dizzy feeling.. when they found out it was not that they put me on a nerve tablet. (am not crazy either.on saying that !! lol ) as these kind of tablets work with the brain to counteract dizzyness... after they did not work. by this stage i was getting well fed up
To make a long story short. they now seen to think its a b12 defencey.. when blood tests are done. they do not check for this. as a lot of doctors do not beleive that there is such a thing
But i was always thinking back. if a animal is like i was what wood it be. and i asked for a b12 test..and it came back low.
I take 3/4 tablets a day and i can honestly say i feel loads better, not 100 % but good as it takes about 2 months to get your body right again
Dont no if this is anything to go on. but i went though all that stuff your wee neice is going though.
If its not a cheeky question. what way is she other that dizzy?
For me. it was like i never slept...my head was like underwater...and times i felt like i was on the inside looking out at people.. i have no stright...to do simple things tied me out..and as they effects your nerve endings it raises your heartrate as well... just maybe it could be somthing to look into !!

P.s my mate has arthris.. and her dr put her on nerve tablets as they relax the body and she has found them to help a good bit

Good Morning, Weekend Wanderers and Wayward Wayfarers.

Wander and Wonder no more, as the answer is here:
Days to the Season: 234
Days to Christmas Day: 276
And if the question was how close are we to the next Milestone, let me assure you it is the day after tomorrow -- the 1/4 mark to Christmas Day!

Will there be no end to this out-of-season warmth?
I hope the answer to that is "no".
This is a most marvelous early Spring (if it wasn't for the pollen, that is!)
We stand at 66 degrees here in the capital city at this hour after more rain last night.
Possible thunderstorms both today and tomorrow.

Hey!
My older niece turns 21 today!
We are taking her out for lunch to a nice restaurant.

You have a Sensational Saturday in the spirit of the Christmas Season, y'hear!

I finally checked my mail and I got a card from the MMC mystery greeter too!

It is postmarked from the States, but could not make out exactly where.
Hmmm, I love a good mystery.

I'm so sorry! I'm be praying for her, too.

Good Saturday morning, my Christmas friends!

It should be pretty quiet around here today. I just made a pot of coffee, and the house smells great!

I hope y'all have a great day! cheesy

Good Morning MMC!

Woke to more seasonable temperatures this morning. Raining and chilly at only 7c. We are thinking of going to visit a sugar bush today, but with the rain Lindsay may not be able to go there in her wheelchair. Will wait and see what happens.
I do have lots of work to do around the house so I will certainly not be bored!

Nyah, just tired and sick and tired of these tubes! Sorry if this is TMI. I have tried to read the posts and had lots of difficulty getting on yesterday. I had to go in and redo my password to my Nook, but since I am a touch typist, it is difficult to reply. Right now, I am using Hubby's computer because mine is so slow that it would take forever to go from page to page here on the forum.
I am just so glad to hear from you! Get some rest and heal!

the poor dear, must be so hard on her.
My daughter when she was around 10 went through a year of trips to ER and doctors with no one being able to figure out what was going on with her. She was in a great deal of pain and they would just tell us she had stomach flu etc. One day we rushed her into ER with 103 temp, so very sick it was scary. Then they had the nerve to call in child serves accusing us of abuse. (quickly proved wrong, but still very upsetting) Anyway, turned out it was never anything to do with digestion, it was her kidneys and bladder. She had vesico-ureteric reflux or VUR. This is when the ureters do not join the bladder in the correct place.
If the ureters do not join the bladder in the correct place, these valves can fail, allowing urine to flow backwards from the bladder to the kidney. Depending on the severity of the VUR, sometimes the urine can flow backwards as far as the kidneys. This can damage the kidney and eventually lead to kidney failure.
She had the severe type , had to have some pretty major surgery, twice, was in hospital for over a month and now is functioning on less than one kidney as one was completely destroyed by this. She is also now dealing with high blood pressure as a result and was told at her last visit that getting pregnant should not be considered an option for her and would be way to dangerous.

So keep fighting for her, insist that she see a specialist or other doctors. It only takes one to finally recognize what is going on and come up with a solution.
Will keep praying for her.

Made, I sure hope this is the right diagnosis and she is healed. It seems more test would be run to make sure of it though.

Bradmac,
are you cooking breakfast for us this morning???

Merrybells, so sorry to hear about you losing your dog.

Victor is a real cutie!!! I am glad he is bringing happiness to you all!
