I opted for a cake from scratch, but it is as easy as a mix cake. It is called Dump Cake because all you do is dump in the ingredients and stir. The frosing is what I like best. I know there is a place for recipes, but I am not sure where this would fit.

2 c. flour
2 c. sugar
2 tsp. baking soda
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1 20-oz can crushed pineapple (juice and all)
1 cup chopped walnuts

Mix and bake in a greased and floured (I use the spray that has flour in it) 13 by 9 pan for 45-50 minutes. While cake is warm, top with frosting.

Frosting
1 (8-oz) pkg cream cheese
1/2 cube butter or margarine
1 & 3/4 c powdered sugar
1 tsp vanilla
1 c chopped walnuts

Cream the cream cheese and butter. Mix in the sugar and remaining ingredients. Spread over warm cake.

My grandmother use to make that cake, I was the only grandchild who liked it. We all did laugh and pick on the name of the cake though. cheesy

Dinner has been in the crockpot all day: chicken that I seasoned and chicken broth. I am going to de-bone and cut up the chicken for chicken rice soup and also use some for homemade chicken salad. Thanks, Sugar, for the rice idea. I bought Minute Rice and know it will taste so good!!!

My March Baking Blitz is over and the kitchen is almost all cleaned up, too. Yay! Today I made orange cream cheese bread, chees(y) onion bread and for dessert, coffee cream brownies. Everything smells good, haven't tasted anything yet, though.

Not much going on today. Went and got Hermione a new collar for her puppy class which hopefully starts next Sunday. It is chilly here today so we have a small cozy fire going in the fireplace.

Thank you to everyone who offered views on working for just the money as well as a job that make you happy. I think the first step I am going to take is trying to cut back to 4 days a week and becoming part time. That will help a lot and give me a little more time away from typing so much. We will see what they say and I will let you know.

What a great dinner tonight, one of our favorite seasonal restaurants reopened this weekend: Salerno's Taste of Philadelphia, they have a grinder (hoagie, sub, depends on where you live on what they are called) it is named the Philadelphia Phil it is a spicy sausage, meatball, pepperoni, onions and peppers in a tangy sauce. It is the best sandwich I've ever had. I have been waiting for that sandwich since last September. The Bruins are playing the Ducks tonight, but my wife is watching a movie instead, she puts up with me so she deserves it. cheesy

good evening ya'll!
we went to see my daddy today, & my brother. since mama's w/ my sister she likes for me to go check on things often. that little lady sure is particular about her house. my s-i-l is there but she still likes me to go there. i took them some of the chocolates hubby brought home, they loved them too.

came home, ate lunch & took a long nap. i just love these relaxing days. we've been going a bit overboard this weekend on our diet so i decided to skip supper tonight. believe me it will not hurt me. we had our cheat day yesterday & got pizza. well we ordered too much, had leftovers for a late lunch today. REMINDER TO SELF: NEVER ORDER TOO MUCH, NEVER KEEP LEFTOVERS FROM CHEAT DAY!!!
hubby has been kind'a dragging to day, getting used to the time again. has to go in tomorrow & give the report, but he gets off @ 3pm so i'm sure he'll be back on track in no TIME (pun intended)lol

hey there cah, sounds like you & wayne have such a good relationship. it's fun to have a hubby that's your best friend too huh? glad to hear your visit w/ your bro was nice. i always love visiting family.:merry:

We have a fantastic relationship. We have so much fun together, we love to make each other laugh. She is my best friend, I always look forward to Saturdays, most of the time it is just mundane stuff like grocery shopping and other errands, but anytime we spend together is always a great time.:-D
