Good Morning MMC!!!!! It's going to be a rainy day here in central Indy with a high in the low 70's. I got up early and cooked biscuits and gravy for mom for breakfast. Now I'm getting ready for church and then we are going out to my sister's house for dinner I think. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!
never heard of having biscuits and gravey for breakfast, sounds like something my kids would make with left overs. LOL
But really nice of you to make your mom one of her favorite dishes. Love hearing how people eat at different parts of the world.

so sorry to hear your back is sore, is there is chiropractor you can go and see?

On another note: Since my father passed away late Febuary I feel alot like CAH has said in her posts...For me every minor Holiday since he has died I come to dread.. Like last year he came to visit one week in April..so This april around the same time I sat around and thought about him all the time...I know it's Mothers day and all,but now It has me thinking tha Father's say is coming up then what!! I hate to say I am dreading Christmas because that is what I live for year around. We were finally going to have our family Chirstmas in 2012 at my home. My father was going to get out of the hospital in the summer and by Christmas he would be able to travel..well Now if we do have it at my home I fear it will be all I think about. I am thinking maybe we should just have it at my siblings or mom's home??!! sorry for rambling It somehow feels better to type it out it's kind of theraputic I guess... well I went to the first service and came home to cook lunch to take back to the church for our meal at noon..I am cooking stir fry chicken! Again I hope everyone has a great Mothers day..you women are amazing and we could never live withoout ya!!!

The first year is the hardest, you will always miss him especially on the special days. Reminders can come up in the most unexpected places that can bring tears to your eyes (after my dad was gone, I was in the store near fathers day, saw the rack of cards and started to cry)
A good place to go to help would be a group called Grief Share http://www.griefshare.org/

(((((hugs)))))
praying for you

I got a special bouquet of flowers for mothers day...

used to get them all the time when I kids were small, so when my daughter came in with these behind her back and a grin on her face, I was really touched. Lots of fun memories of a window sill lined with mugs full of bright yellow dandelions.

I don't know about anywhere else but in the deep south that is like a BIG thing!! you split the buscuit in half pour gobs and gobs of gravy on both parts and then use a fork and knife, the more gravy the better!!

Good evening all! I guess everyone is busy celebrating mom's day!!! May and June are kinda slow around here anyways....I can't believe there is only 3 days left of school...actually the county I live in got out Friday but the county Me and brandi work in goes til weds. Brandi could not really enjoy mom's day although I had her a little surprise she teared up over...I think I am a little too nostalgic at times. But she had lost her class ring years ago right after she graduated so I got in touch with her high school and was able to get her a replacement. Even though she will not wear it she likes to have it. She is uber busy this weekend grading reports and she has finals tues and weds. Anyhow I guess I will go get busy doing something around here....kind of depressed about having to start another dreaded work week!!!

Gosh Solice! I hope you get to feeling better soon!! Bad backs are terrible! and can be excruicaiting!! Take care and see Dr if it does not get better!!

Happy Mother's Day to all of the moms here! I hope you all have a fantastic day with your families!

I am really excited for tonight. All of my shows are on their season finales and it is the finale of Survivor. I won't be moving from the TV from 8 and beyond!

girl, i'm w/ you. can't wait till 8 when survivor comes on!!

The Greasy Skillet was good last night. If anyone wants to join in next Saturday, check out the link in my signature. We had a great time!

It was a very good show!

I discovered a little antique co-op just up the street from us and browsed through it yesterday. I found a cute little wooden thing that's hard to describe---it's painted to represent a couple of city brownstones, complete with stairs going up to the doors, and through the windows you can see a Christmas tree and a wreath. (25 cents!) And a piece of 1915 Christmas sheet music with a beautiful cover ($1!). I found a picture of it online---it looks like this:

Meceka, I'll take your advice to go back there during the Christmas season and look for vintage Shiny Brite ornaments that I remember!

Great finds, Merry!

Hello, Solice! Have a safe trip back to Norway. I hope your back is better soon!!

I have one of those and paid about the same at a yard sale, love it and use it a lot. I was just saying that tomorrow I have to bring it up and start drying my chives. I make my own pepper powder too (for chili or spicy cheese sauce) use as many different peppers as I can, after drying grind them up together, smells fantastic and tastes even better.

I dried my chives the other day - I cut them, placed them on paper plates and then set them in the window of the truck. It only took a little over a day for them to dry and they didn't lose their color. Great idea with the peppers - I am going to do that this year. I usually just dry them and store in canning jars in a cool, dark place - I usually forget I have them

Good evening, MMC!

:sparkle:

I think I am going to call it a night! I can't keep my eyes open. Snow ball is always ready for bed...I forgot to mention he actually bit my housekeeper!!! I told her never to mess with him when he is UNDER my bed because he is a very gentle sweet dog but even I don't mess with him when he crawls under my bed...he growls even at me..well he weights about 120 pounds and he wedges himself under my bed when she comes on fridays because I guess he is not Comfortable with her...she thought he was stuck under there because I will admit it is a tight squeeze...well he bit and she mentioned it to brandi,((((praying she don't sue))) but anyways he is staring at me right now....so goodnight we are going to head to bed!!

Good evening, friends!!

Hope everyone is having a nice Sunday & Mother's Day!

We're just hanging out watching The Changeling w. George C. Scott- one of the best ghost stories ever.

It's been a lovely day =)

Hubby & Harlowe surprised me w/ flowers & a sweet BIG Mother's Day balloon- hubby actually clipped it to Harlowe's collar, and she ran it into our bedroom where I was! Awesome!! It plays "How Sweet It Is To Be Loved By You". Made my day.

I can't believe the weekend is almost over. Time sure flies when you're having fun!

What are you all up to?

Well, going to finish the movie & go sit on the patio after the sun sets.

Have a great evening! Talk to you all tomorrow!

:sparkle:

Oh yeah and add ground sausage to the gravy. I bet Bradmac makes it at the store on Saturdays. Very popular breakfast here!

I guess I took it for granted that it's worldwide but of course it's not, just a common dish here. I am like you and love hearing what others eat in other parts of the world. =)
