I have to say, that a personal mystery has just been solved...
I was, am and have been so totally confused in the past few days, about just "what in the heck" was everyone talking about here, with fried twinkies, The Pines and the camel thing (the camel with the make-up on, just a little bizzarre:lol:)! I was starting to think that either I'm off my nut or everyone else was;LOL... So, right now, just after I read the "The History of Carl, The 'Pines, and Fired Twinkies"
The light bulb finally came on and since no one is in the office yet, there was a very audible, "Ohhhhh that's what their talking about"....

Anyway, That's funny; you guys are a scream....

so glad you figured it out! Of course, you could have asked we would have glady sent the jet over to pick you up to join us!
Make sure you come next Wednesday!

Good Morning MMC!

Well, I'm up again!
Things look a little brighter now that the sun is up too.

In my job, I design and sell a product to power companies like Georgia Power, South Carolina Electric & Gas, all the EMC's in NC, etc. These projects stretch out for months, so right now I'm working on jobs due in October and November. I LOVE seeing fall delivery dates on purchase orders, and talking with folks in May about arranging deliveries around Thanksgiving!

DH is "the IT Department" for our local power company, so now you have two things in common---Star Trek & electricity!

So glad it's Friday, DD's full day of school was yesterday. We get off work early today since the local festival is setting up this afternoon. Maybe I can get some rest this afternoon before we do the annual spring cleaning at home tommorrow. Power washing & scrubbing----can't wait!:-?

Good morning all,

Just wanted to stop in and wish you all a good day. Over here in NYC it is one of the prettiest days, blue, blue sky, sun glistening off the Hudson. Goodness some mornings can just take your breath away. Funny thing is on Saturday, it was just like today and we hiked the AT up Bear Mountain, which at the tower on one spot you can see the NYC skyline (in the very distances), but we watched the Hawks in the morning just "floating" over the Hudson looking for a late breakfast.

Last night I was in the mood for Christmas no real reason just a craving for it so I made some of my Christmas Finger Deserts YUMMMY!!! I even used some Santa cupcake holders, HOW cute!!! Just put me in a great frame of mind.

I am also looking up "period" recipes, I am in love with History it is a true Hobby of mine, I read whatever I can on the Revolutionary War and the Civil War, it so amazes me that we survived at all. But, anyway, I found this really cool recipe of coca drops, it dates back to late 1790's I cannot wait to try it out.

I hope those who have off enjoy and those who must work it is a smooth - good day.

I must read over and see what I have missed out this last week. I hope those who are not well heal soon, those who are well stay that way. I will be praying and thinking of you all.

Be well my MMC Friends.
LB

Hey LB!! Those Christmas desserts sound so yummy! Enjoy!!
Hope you guys are doing well! Hugs to you & Snickers! =)

Good Morning, MMC!!

Happy Friday to you all!!

What's your plans for the weekend?

We are taking our friends out to celebrate their anniversary, to a Louisiana French Creole & Cajun restaurant tomorrow night. It's a really great place, and fun atmosphere.

Then, on Sunday, we need to clean, clean, clean the house!! Hubby's family is coming out from the midwest next weekend, and this is our only time to get it accomplished together. Hopefully it'll go by fast!

If we have any extra time, we'll grill out & then take Harlowe for a nice long walk =)

I got my Mr. Christmas clock yesterday. It's lovely!!
I was worried after reading over 100+ reviews on QVC, lots of people have problems after they receive them- things shift in shipping, etc. I was no exception, but those reviews actually helped me solve the problem (after a couple of frustrating hours), and now everything is working just fine!! Yay!! I was so happy!
The music & chimes are beautiful, and the dancers- wonderful. The little fireplace & Christmas tree are so cute, too, and light up so pretty. I hope to enjoy it for years to come.

Well, better get back to work. Breaktime is just about up.

Hope you all have a fantastic Friday, and weekend too!!

I'm sorry you felt left out. A couple of us have links in our signatures to the explanation thread that you found.

Glad you're on board now!

So apparently my sister has let my niece eat pixy sticks all morning. Now she is bouncing off of the walls and driving me crazy. So the next time she spends the night I'm going to let her do the same thing before I take her home.

Your post truly made me laugh out loud! I can only imagine how hyper she is. I can't stand the taste of those, it's literally eating pure sugar. Well, at least you know she is bound to crash and maybe she'll take a nice, long nap. Feed her a bunch before you send her home today or do what you said after she sleeps over!

I love the old recipes. You will have to let me know how the coca drops come out.

reminds of the time I was driving special needs bus, on the way home one girl was literally bouncing off the walls, had to stop several times to try and settle her down.
The next morning when I dropped her at school I asked her teach what had gone on the day before. She said they had a birthday party and she had eaten a fair amount of chocolate cake about an half hour before she got on the bus.
I looked at her and told her if they did that again I would feed her chocolate bars on the way to school!

Good Friday afternoon, my Christmas friends!

It's been busy busy around here. My son's best friend's dad recently found out he has cancer, and hasn't been given a very good prognosis. Since both of the boys were already out of school, his friend (Mark) asked if Jacob would please come over to his house. I think he's been overwhelmed with worry for his dad, and just wanted to do some regular stuff with a friend. So I left early this morning to take Jacob to his friend's house (about 30 miles away), then I hurried back to the Honors Day program for Elizabeth's class. Now I'm trying to get caught up at work since we're going to be in Orlando all next week. Whew!

I have to say, I'm very proud of both of my children, academically and socially. My daughter worked so hard this year for school, and made honor roll AND received the subject award for english! My son was a little apprehensive about visiting his friend while his dad is so visibly not well. I told him it was up to him, and he said he knew Mark needed him.

It does an old dad's heart good! Who needs a Father's Day present when they give me gifts like this without even trying?

I hope ya'll have a great day! cheesy

a garage sale in Frankenmuth and I missed it!!! Not that I could have gone anyway, but that would have been so cool!
So did you full fill your mission?
Got pictures?
Did they have lots of christmas stuff?

You would have had a lot of fun! No pictures - it was way too crowded. My mission was to find vintage/antique items for the store. I would like to have gotten more, but I had a budget and I stuck to it - had to have coffee money cheesy There seemed to be a bit of Christmas decor at almost every place I stopped at, but the only thing I picked up was a set of spun glass ornaments.

Did they really just show 2 days above 90 degrees in the 10 day forecast? This is may not july. Our high's should be in the mid 70's right now.

Tomorrow we are supposed to be around the 87 degree mark - storms on the way. Stay cool and watch the skies!

Hey friends, just want to say a quick hello. I haven't been on the computer much as of late. I babysit my darling little 8 month old grandson 4 days a week and it keeps me very very busy! I love it though. Anyway, still think of all of you and how much we all love the best time of the year! Sending good thoughts out to all of you, wherever you are and wishing you all only the best. Take care until next time!

What great kids you have, Brad! Congratulations to your daughter on her academic achievements! I will keep your son's best friend and his dad in my prayers.

Yeah they are calling for 86 degrees tomorrow and then 87 on sunday. They are predicting the storms will stay north of us until monday though. At least that's what they are hoping for so they can get qualifying in for the Indy 500 this weekend.
