I shouldn't laugh, but I'm amused at their "hot/sun/dry/muggy"---coming up with four different terms to try to throw some variety into their painful forecast. Doesn't work, guys, it's all nasty!

I always say the weather person here should just take the whole summer off. It's the same everyday, HOT!

Wish is still doing well. Each night I prepare his next day's medicine by cutting his pills in half so I have the proper dosages ready. I don't mind at all.....In fact I am glad to do it....So glad my baby is still here.

It has been very hot here also. I am PRAYING our air conditioning keeps working. It is nearly 20 years old so I don't know. Whenever I get a chance I let it rest a bit then turn it back on. Gives me a break from owing Ohio Edision my soul each month too !!

Our AC went out last year and we just got a new one. It's working so good and our electricity bill is lower than it ever has been. Energy Efficient! I hope yours holds up a little longer.

I hope everyone stays nice and hydrated and well. Christmas in July soon !!!!! Can't wait to join Made and Binger and everyone !!! I hope they have those trees they had last year but Bethlehem Lights seems like they are pretty limited in their time on QVC this year so I don't know....

I don't mind jury duty itself, I actually find it very interesting. But I hate being downtown alone, especially outside of the Fremont St. Experience- not a safe place.

Is the Freemont Experience area itself okay? I have been there a few times and felt comfortable. If it's just outside it, I will know to stay away from that!

I can't wait to receive them. I ordered A Charlie Brown Christmas, Christmas In New York, and A Christmas Carol. The art in them looks so beautiful & detailed. And I'm not sure when I'll actually experience a Christmas in New York, so this is the next best thing. I also bought a dvd awhile back that's about Christmas in NY- awesome!

Okay! You got me curious!!! I googled Christmas in New York DVD but many things come up. Do you have more details so I know I am looking at the right one? I would love to have that!!! Don't give up on your dream to New York for Christmas. I went to New York last year in October but I also want to go back for Christmas time or better yet, Thanksgiving for the parade! It's on my bucket list!

It is hot here, but not too bad as of yet. I seem to be able to last a bit longer every afternoon before the heat starts to get to me - yay! I am working on last minute stock I want to put in the store - lots of research to do, but what really takes the time is bagging each item. I put a piece of colored paper behind certain items so they will stand out more and it takes me a bit to get those inserts into the bags. 4 hours have gone by with not much to show and other than taking a break to check in here, I have been working steadily. Good hot weather work when there is no air conditioner or fans on :grin:

The summer here has been nice so far. I know that mid 90's doesn't cut it for you all up north but it's wonderful here compared to the triple digits we normally have. We have had some triple digits but not a lot. I am sure by August we will have a lot of those day.

Hi everyone. I figured I should leave a quick message today. It has been a wonderful and long Canada Day weekend here in Ottawa. Good times.

Update: I've spent the better part of the last few months volunteering and searching for a job. I have had a job the past few weeks but I am only making minimum wage. Considering I spent the past eight years in post-secondary education and cannot find any permanent full time positions, it is a little frustrating. Anyway, searching for a real job and playing/practicing the at least three days per week and traveling to tournaments on weekends gives me very little time for anything. I'm hoping it will all change very soon.

If you see me disappear again for more than week, send me a message and make sure I visit. I'm trying to make time and I'm sure your support will help me do so!

Anyway, I hope everyone is having a wonderful summer. I will return again shortly! I need to make this a routine again. I miss everyone here!

Hey everyone, long time, no see! Sorry I have been away so long. I was in Pittsburgh this past weekend with DH, then it stormed bad while we were there, so DH has to reset the wifi again. I am really starting to get sick of this happening. Oh well.

How is everyone else? I hope well. I think about each of you often. After this coming weekend, I hope to be back here full time!

Yes, it's pretty safe- there's security & bike cops all over the place. They just say not to leave the experience itself, especially early in the morning/late in the evening, or after dark period. When I was on jury duty in March, I spent the whole day there (along w/ other perspective jurors) being interviewed by the attorneys & judge. In the beginning, the judge asked who had legitimate reasons to be excused & one gentleman stood up & said that his Grandson was jumped, beaten, and stabbed a block away from the courthouse the week prior. He was still in ICU. He said he didn't feel safe coming to & from the courthouse...sad!

Morning all monday again they come round to quick
I really hope this week is better for me than last week.
One of the girls that worked in the shop who also just lives right across the road from me and has been a friend for over 20 years...
One of the days she was working i happen to add the book up and it was wrong. 2 days later it was wrong again. so i said to her about it.and from that day to this i have not heard from her.. then on sat night i decided i wood check a bit more and i took each day she was working and added it up againsted what i had wrote down money ways for each day and out of 27 days she was wroking and i only went back to may. 17 of them days were wrong.. every other day that someone else was working the books added up or were over .
So you can guess how i feel about that. its not the money any more. its that she though i was a stupid so and so.. guess i should have been adding the book up each night. i wood have caught it on long ago..
My friends are like bears. they wanta do this and that . but i have told them to leave it, but there is 2 i dont trust as if they meet her i no they will not walk by her without saying something. and i have to live across the road from her

I hope you get everything worked out, it would really hurt to have someone you thought you could trust steal from you. Makes you wonder what is going on with her that she is doing this?

'Morning! I was supposed to go to LabCorp first thing this moring but my body had other ideas. That 'marble in the throat' feeling I had Friday night/Saturday morning has now turned into 'mucus in the throat' and, on top of it, a stuffy nose. BOO!!!

Good Monday morning, my Christmas friends!

My vacation starts Wednesday! I can't wait to get into those higher elevations and escape some of this heat and humidity...ahh, I'm cooler just thinking about it.

I jumped in the pool for a couple hours with the kids Saturday, and Nancy and Lulu (our cockapoo) sat on the deck in the shade. It was still too hot for Lulu, so we got my new Father's Day present out for her. It's a fan that has water misters on it. She loved it!

I have some work to do this afternoon, and a council meeting this evening.

watching the Waltons....first episode of Season 3 that we just gotten from Amazon.......along with some chicken wings and some fries...goin to be a nice evening.

tomorrow Kandice will to visit with her uncle and aunty and my pops for 4 days.......when she was 8 weeks old....we were separated the last time....for four weeks. cos I had to go to a clinic....so this is kinda weird for me to do so...but i know it is important for both of us...

I just finished watching the Waltons, the one were Jason get a job at the Do-Drop-Inn.
Hope Kandice has a great visit and you do well too. Praying for you.

Hello everyone, I haven't been in here in a while, I kinda go through these times where I am in here less frequently. No particular reason, just doing other things. I hope everyone is well.

Caninemom, CAH said you mentioned me in a post asking how I am doing, everything is fine, I saw the doctor on a follow up visit last Monday and everything checked out fine. I do have to stay on the medication for at least another 6 months, and I go see the doctor again, and he will decide if I can come off the meds at that time. Thanks for asking!

I have been dreading this week, so many people are off on vacation this week. I get Wednesday off and that's it, I have to work the rest of the week, I just hope we aren't too busy.

I hope everyone has a great day and week, and have a great 4th of July all who live in the USA!

I watched part of the Ottawa celebrations, upset that when the fireworks started they stopped broadcasting!!!
I know how you feel about the job search thing. I to have finally settled into a min wage job. Needed to take something. I will keep looking for other work, but for now this is ok.

last day of the long weekend, Canada Day celebrations were great!
Had a nice swim in my brothers pool, took my daughter back to school and waiting for the burgers to cook.

We are going to grill some cheeseburgers & hot dogs, play some PS3 Move, and hang out inside where it's nice & cool.

I ordered some Christmas pop-up books last week. (At some point, not really sure when, I started collecting Christmas pop-ups! :smile

I love Christmas picture books, they always help when I need a "seasonal uplift."

We will be going to our towns Summerfest and parade, JP is in the parade and we will spend time going to all the craft booths and food booths in the center of town. Then we will be having a big cookout.

thanks christmas star. she cant handle money and has a real thing for scratch cards she use to close the shop and go get them . funny just today the guy that works in it said to me . is bernie on holiday she had not been in buying any cards last week.. i just said back yip shes on a long long holiday
