First back to school was exhausting. It was so hot I could hardly stand it. My group of kiddos is the most talkative group that I have had on the first day of school EVER!!! Guess it's time to bring out the chains or something! Maybe duct tape! All in all, it wasn't too bad a day.

Last night I was so tired after working in my classroom, that I was almost in tears at dinner. I finally had to break down and take a pain pill. So, today I decided I had to take one right after the kids left the classroom. Now I feel like I can enjoy our Chinese dinner out!!!
I forgot to tell you that it took me about 20 minutes to find a parking spcace today at school!!! I ended up parking in the grass way behind the school. It totally exhausted me to walk to my classroom! I knew then that a pain pill would be in my future after school!
Glad it went well, rest up tonight, and definitely bring the duct tape, just in case! :grin:

Oh, man! I'm really sick of it, too. I feel like we're some of the last ones to start seeing signs of Fall. I did notice that it's getting much darker out when I'm turning in for the night...I'll just go with that!

hey y'all! today turned out to be pretty nice. me & my daughter had our hair done, very nice & relaxing. my niece, 12, came to visit her grandma for a few days & is sleeping over w/ my daughter tonight. she lives part time w/ her mom & the other w/ her dad & lives in a town about 30 miles away. really nice when we get to see her. she is so sweet!!!

My grandfather use to get up first thing Thanksgiving morning to get one of my cousins a Hess truck for Christmas. He must have quite the collection now that he is in his 30's.

I was in high school when that commercial came out, I hated going back to school, but I loved the music in that commercial. My wife & I still talk about that commercial.
I resist because I go to the beat of my own drum, I purposely avoid it because everyone tells me I should join it. I have had friends tell me they would "friend" me on it. Why do that when I am your friend in the real world? cheesy

Our little quick excursion was a great time, we came home early because of lack of sleep from the little ones, plus I work tomorrow and it would be easier to come home late tonight rather than early tomorrow. I should have probably went to bed earlier but I wanted to catch up here first.
The basement is still a little wet, but we were lucky compared to others in this town after that rain on Sunday, 12 streets were destroyed by that rain, we got 6 inches of rain in 3 hours Sunday morning. Someone in town ended up with 2 feet of mud in their basement, it has been unreal weather the last year plus for this town.
I want to be asleep soon we will be having some thunderstorms coming through soon.

I have a meeting to attend to in a two hours
So I guess I just have to drag myself to the bathroom and fresh up.
Then it's straight back home after the meeting..

Fewer mosquitoes (although plenty) and no puddles to step in.
We have 73 degrees here, currently.

Yay! What a nice way to start your first day back with your students. That was very kind of them :] Starbucks is certainly a place where that gift card will get good use!
I am sorry that your first day was exhausting! I think it will get better for you with every day. The first day always seems to be more tiring and drags on longer than the rest. Kids these days LOVE chit-chatting. Once you show them who is boss, they'll listen! ;] I am glad that your day wasn't too bad!
I am sorry that your night turned out the way that it did. I guess the exhaustion can really catch up to you. I am glad that you will be able to enjoy your dinner! That sounds like it will be fun. I wish that I liked Chinese food! I hope that every day at school improves for you.
I hope you enjoyed your time at the campground! I am sure that you'll get a good night's sleep since you're so tired!
I am glad that you enjoyed your little excursion! Coming home early always seems to be a good idea for everyone, all around. We used to do that when I was younger and it was way easier to let me just come back and get some sleep compared to getting cranky. I am sorry about your basement and as for the others who live in your town. I will be praying for you all! Water may be water but that is such an inconvenience and it can really damage a lot. I would absolutely freak if I had two feet of mud in my basement - I wouldn't even know where to begin with getting that cleaned up. Hopefully those storms passed quickly!
I am sorry that you are not feeling well, Solice! I will pray for you :] I am also sorry that your little one has a fever - I will be praying! It seems like once somebody in the family catches something, everyone else will get it passed on to them. That was the way it was with my brother and I when we were kids especially. I hope that your meeting goes by quickly and that you are feeling better there. Then you can come home and get the rest that you need! Feel better, have a good day!
