How grown up of her. It only gets worse watching them grow up, but it is so sweet watching them taking on more responsibiliy. This post brought a smile to my face!

My oldest started 2nd grade today. She went right inside and started unpacking and organizing her desk like a pro. I hate watching grow up.

Yeah, down here dinner is at noon and supper is in the evening...unless you're trying to be fancy, that is! cheesy

Here too!

My son and I were moving some of my signs around in a neighboring town Saturday when my truck got bogged down. Before I could call anyone for help, three people stopped to help. One of them came back with a tractor on a trailer behind his truck and pulled me out. They refused any money, and wouldn't even let me buy them lunch. The man with the tractor said the handshake was thanks enough for him...wow! I got all their names, and I'm planning to write a "Letter to the Editor" of their small town newspaper, publicly thanking them.

Now to pay it forward!

NICE! That reminds me when our friends from Pittsburgh came to visit! They noticed an "aroma" & thought their dog had pooped in it's cage. They said they were NOT showing up at our house with dog poo in their vehicle, so they pulled over to throw it in a field. As soon as they did, someone pulled up behind them & they thought they were going to be held a gun point or something! The guy asked if they needed help & they said no, they were just coming to visit us - the guy knew who we were & told them exactly how to get to our house. They said in Pittsburgh they would be stopped along the side of the road for a week & nobody would stop! HA!!! We never did find out who the guy was that stopped, but the "aroma" wasn't their dog at all, it was "fresh country air" aka manure being spread in the field!

Good morning, Christmas friends. It was pleasantly cool yesterday morning, and the temps did not rise that much in the afternoon. I rested most of the day and took two naps, which surprised me. I will be leaving in a few minutes to get to school to make copies that I did not get to yesterday, being too lazy! Have a great day, and get well, all who are feeling under the weather!

Hi All! Missy and I are fine. The wind is starting to pick up and we have an 80% chance of rain today--hahahaha!

Missy has been a bit naughty since last night so I'm going to keep her in "jail" (aka: in the kitchen with the baby gate) today while I stay home feeling miserable. Right now I feel as if marbles are in my throat, a lot of mucus in there, plus I have a congested cough. Also, my nose is stuffy and my head is starting to hurt.

I'm just gonna wear my Christmas/winter pajamas (cause I'm COLD), bury myself under the covers and take a nice nap/watch some TV.

Feel better soon!

Monday hello ... what beautiful weather today! Our office server and data are finally back, so I'm getting reorganized and caught up with last week's timesheet. Also heard that our office may not be moving later this year after all. That makes me happy, 'cause I like this building and where it's located.

Solice and Kimothy, take care of yourselves. Thinking of you.

Good Monday morning, my Christmas friends!

It's overcast here and we're getting a little rain from Isaac this morning. It's supposed to be like this all week. That's ok, the grass is cut! We had a beautiful weekend with morning lows in the 60's, and sunshine all weekend.

reminds me of when we lived in northren British Columbia.
Wonderful when people are willing to help and not expecting to be paid for it.

always nice to have a lazy day!

Today is the first day of school in Baltimore County, and there was a shooting in Perry Hall High school cafateria just now. The very same school where both of my kids graduated from (my daughter in this past June). Thank the Lord that they both have graduated now and are out of that school....

My understanding is that one kid was shot and was transported by helicopter to Shock Trauma in Baltimore City and they also caught the shooter...

What is this world of ours coming too? You never, ever heard of anything like this when I went to High School (class of 81), is it because of no family values, lack of parental guideance, society, too much TV and video games, or that they just don't believe in God anymore..., I just don't understand it. When I see or hear of things like this, sometimes, I think the world is going to Hell in a hand basket! (I apologize for the Rant....., It upsets me to hear of things like this....)

What a story, Brad. A fantastic gesture. Small town hospitality exists. A Letter to the Editor is a great way to repay them for their efforts. I'm sure that they would appreciate that.... Also, it would make others think twice about helping a stranger-in-need.

That's something to be proud of! She's already a leader!

Very unfortunate to hear about this incident. A terrible thing to happen on the first day of school. Some people just lack the guidance from plenty of people in their lives. In a technologically advanced work, we're way too reliant on material things rather than those that are directly in front of us. Family values and respect for others seem to be a thing of the past. It's a real shame. There are lots of people to blame in this situation for sure. With that said, I wish nothing but the best to the victim. I hope they can make a full recovery.

Good afternoon everyone!

Overcast today. It doesn't appear to be raining, but it certainly looks like we'll see a fair share of precipitation. The humdity is fairly high right now. I'm only been away from a fan for about 10 minutes and I am already very sweaty! Anyway, we've made it to another work week.

In regards to my "work" week, this will be my second last week prior to returning to my job at Health Canada for a couple months. I'm very excited to make some money! The best part? This will be my last week lounging around at the apartment doing nothing. Kim and I are heading to the Sault (my home) on Saturday morning. We'll be staying until next Wednesday, too! So, that takes away half of the work week. Yippee! The forecast for the upcoming long weekend looks great, too. It would be beautiful to have temperatures into the high 20s and lower 30s at camp (my cottage). I'll have to speak with my dad this week about the temperature on the north shores of Lake Huron!

Well, even though I have a job in a few weeks, I think it's time to look for others that can give me a career.

Have a great Monday everyone!!

It's raining pretty hard now!

That IS upsetting ... the first day of school. I'm glad I finished school before violence became routine there, and I'm glad I don't have children in school. Some days it does seem that the world is going downhill in terms of mindless violence---and then I see the kindness of the the people here. It hardly seems like such attitudes can coexist.

Wow. This really has to hit home for you. Praying for this family and everyone involved.

Have a great visit home!

Good afternoon! How is everyone? I am well. Woke up about an hour ago, after not being asleep for that long, awakened by the house phone. I hate when that happens.

Anyway, what's new and exciting? Nothing here. DH works tonight and so do I, so it's the kids, my sister and me for dinner. He said he was going to throw something in the slow cooker for me, but I haven't even looked yet to see what it is.

Hope all is well with you all. I will check back in later. God Bless and keep smiling!
