Hi All! Missy and I are fine. The wind is starting to pick up and we have an 80% chance of rain today--hahahaha!
Missy has been a bit naughty since last night so I'm going to keep her in "jail" (aka: in the kitchen with the baby gate) today while I stay home feeling miserable. Right now I feel as if marbles are in my throat, a lot of mucus in there, plus I have a congested cough. Also, my nose is stuffy and my head is starting to hurt.
I'm just gonna wear my Christmas/winter pajamas (cause I'm COLD), bury myself under the covers and take a nice nap/watch some TV.

Hope you feel better soon, and i would love to be cuddled in pjs as well!

It's the most wonderful time of the year!!!! Kids going back to school, football starts soon. Next the temps will go all the way down to the 80s, maybe even the 70s (fall in Texas). Then Halloween and Thanksgiving and then of course CHRISTMAS!!!!!!! YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!:dance:

My oldest started 2nd grade today. She went right inside and started unpacking and organizing her desk like a pro. I hate watching grow up.

It's hard for me to watch my pup grow up, let alone a child.. Kudos to all you parents, I don't know how you do it.. And now I know why it was so hard for my mom to watch me move out!

reminds me of when we lived in northren British Columbia.
Wonderful when people are willing to help and not expecting to be paid for it.

Today is the first day of school in Baltimore County, and there was a shooting in Perry Hall High school cafateria just now. The very same school where both of my kids graduated from (my daughter in this past June). Thank the Lord that they both have graduated now and are out of that school....
My understanding is that one kid was shot and was transported by helicopter to Shock Trauma in Baltimore City and they also caught the shooter...
What is this world of ours coming too? You never, ever heard of anything like this when I went to High School (class of 81), is it because of no family values, lack of parental guideance, society, too much TV and video games, or that they just don't believe in God anymore..., I just don't understand it. When I see or hear of things like this, sometimes, I think the world is going to Hell in a hand basket! (I apologize for the Rant....., It upsets me to hear of things like this....)

I seriously Can't believe how many shootings there has been lately. It breaks my heart.. & terrifies me. God bless all Families affected in every recent shooting (& past as well) & I hope Justice is served to all gunmen. I can't even..begin to understand what goes through peoples heads before they do this.. Why? WHY! I just don't get it..

OH .... just came from a viewing ... our dear neighbour (original resitdent on the street) passed away ... her poor husband.. married for 68 years and said she was as beautiful now as whne he married her UGH... makes me count my blessings... and I consider this forum aka my Christmas family a big blessing in my life...

Good Afternoon Missed everyone!! Been a Terribly Busy lady lately..

Very chilly in these parts today, cloudy..drizzle..bleh just like myself! I have come down with a nasty cold.. was supposed to work tomorrow but decided that my co-workers & customers would appreciate it more if I just stayed home!

A-las It has not been relaxing here though, what with our new addition to the family!
I Like to call her our Fate Puppy. Ok, ok her real name is London & she is a 12 week old French Bulldog, Boston terrier Cross. Myself, DB & my two dearest friends went down Island to view a couple puppies (just trying to win over DB.. as he was NOT getting a puppy, no matter how much I begged & pleaded for the last year).. I honestly had no intentions of getting a pup that day (poor little thing wasn't worked into the budget!) just trying to win over Db... Anyways, we get there and there was about 10 puppies.. SO CUTE, But i knew 1200$ was just not in our equation..I ask if we could put a deposit on a pup, and with our checks combined, pay the rest in two weeks.. breeder was having none of that, Cuz I think they were moving & wanted them gone asap. Now Because I am a pansy, I was CRUSHED..so Being the little angel i am (hahahaha) I called my mom & asked if we could borrow the $... Besides the "do you really need a dog." "You're being an emotional buyer."..etc. The answer was NO. It wasn't in moms budget either.. Darn.. Again, me being wimpy I cried.. I've wanted one of these little guys for YEARS.. so I pulled myself together & went back over to where everyone was standing and let them know that we could not take a pup & left.... After all, It was just to get DB to like the cute little guys anyways (which did work!!)! about 5 mins after we left, I get a phone call..
Now, she's considered the Fate puppy because......... they offered us a little girl, which had a cherry eye for... $500!!! I WAS ECSTATIC! They said they wanted her to go to a good home, where she'd be looked after & had a feeling we'd be the right people to care for her! Yes poor little munchkin will have to have surgery down the road when she's old enough but at least I'll have time to save $.. I could not Believe it! A french Bulldog, Boston terrier cross for $500??????? Mom was able to help us out, as long as we paid her back. Little London came home with us that night: )

I never, ever.. thought puppies were so much work! Everyone warned me..but I was like... ya pshh I got this..
Ya I don't "got This" My lord, she keeps me on my feet! Love the dear thing though.. Our cats.. Are still adjusting hahaha

If anyone has any helpful tips on training puppies please let me know, cuz I feel like I am sucking big time!

I am a BIG believer in fate & Destiny... So another thing that made me go.. oooooooo was she was born on the same day we celebrate our anniversary
BTW I am so Excited to have our First Christmas With a puppy!! WOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOO

Our good ol Neighbor & Mother told me to keep my cats inside, as we have some psycho driving around town PURPOSELY running cats over, "just for fun". Unfortunately, cops said they can't do anything because he's 17. I'm sorry but when you willingly take an animals life, for fun.. at the age of 17, you know what you're doing & there should be consequences!!!! It just makes me sick that there is a young man like that in our town and nothing will be done to him. Geez at the least, take away his License!!.. I just don't understand what makes people tick.

Anyways! Well the weather outside is frightful.... But it's not snowing
Cold, Cloudy.. Not exactly a typical August here, But it's nice.. At least its not 40+ Like it has been.. I love hot weather, but it was getting to be a little much, especially since we don't have air conditioning!!!!!!!!! hahahah

Good Monday morning, my Christmas friends!

It's overcast here and we're getting a little rain from Isaac this morning. It's supposed to be like this all week. That's ok, the grass is cut! We had a beautiful weekend with morning lows in the 60's, and sunshine all weekend.

My son and I were moving some of my signs around in a neighboring town Saturday when my truck got bogged down. Before I could call anyone for help, three people stopped to help. One of them came back with a tractor on a trailer behind his truck and pulled me out. They refused any money, and wouldn't even let me buy them lunch. The man with the tractor said the handshake was thanks enough for him...wow! I got all their names, and I'm planning to write a "Letter to the Editor" of their small town newspaper, publicly thanking them.

Now to pay it forward!

No apology needed !! I agree with you !! In my opinion, it is ALL of the above. We never worried about such things when I was in school. The most we ever worried about was a big test coming up or if we would pass to the next grade at the end of the year, NEVER had to worry about being shot or anything like that !! The only thing we can do is pray for the victims and pray for God's blessing I think

Good afternoon everyone!

Overcast today. It doesn't appear to be raining, but it certainly looks like we'll see a fair share of precipitation. The humdity is fairly high right now. I'm only been away from a fan for about 10 minutes and I am already very sweaty! Anyway, we've made it to another work week.

In regards to my "work" week, this will be my second last week prior to returning to my job at Health Canada for a couple months. I'm very excited to make some money! The best part? This will be my last week lounging around at the apartment doing nothing. Kim and I are heading to the Sault (my home) on Saturday morning. We'll be staying until next Wednesday, too! So, that takes away half of the work week. Yippee! The forecast for the upcoming long weekend looks great, too. It would be beautiful to have temperatures into the high 20s and lower 30s at camp (my cottage). I'll have to speak with my dad this week about the temperature on the north shores of Lake Huron!

Well, even though I have a job in a few weeks, I think it's time to look for others that can give me a career.
