Christmas Countdown - 2012

Good evening Y'all

well it's that time again where everything is quite and still in my home. Everyone is asleep and dishes are done. and here I am, typing to Y'all. My cousin had her baby today, all 6lb 14 oz of him he is a handsome lil thing that ya just wanna hold for hours and hours! then this after noon we was called in to be told that our Aunt by what the dr told us has about 6 months to live. they did a special scan and she has stage 4 cancer in 4 different places that they could clearly see. and she is the one who had a 2nd stroke right after pop did in feb. sooooooo now we wait and spend as much time as we can with her. this breaks my heart but I'm keeeping my head high and diving head first here on MMC and Love Of Christmas on FB. I'll just keep myself busy. well I'm going to call it a night See y'all in the AM have a good one!!!

Good morning Christmas friends. With the whole-house fan on, it feels nippy; but that will change by later today. Back to School is tonight, so I will not get on until after that--about 7:30 or so. We will be finishing up a space lapbook to have on display along with our books and a few other items. Welcome to all the new and returning members. You all make this the most magical place on Earth, no matter what Disney says!!!

I forgot to tell y'all that I got THREE tattoos today!!! It was not fun, but the doctor had to mark three areas for radiation. Thank goodness they were only dots! Glad I did not have to have a whole scene done! What a wimp I am!

I have a tatoo like that, it is the earth as seen from a long way off in space! I am a wimp about needles too.

The weather this morning is cool. had to put a heater on in the sunroom as you could feel the chill when you walked in
Soon be friday.!!
Had a meeting yesterday of our town forum with the council. there is only 6 of us. to discuss halloween and christmas
As the council give £4000 towards a fireworks display and they only give £500 towards christmas ! so we are gonna cancel the fireworks this year and put it towards chrsitmas lights and just have some other thing for the kids on halloween we are thinking a disco with prizes..the town is gonna come down on us like a ton of bricks but they cant have it all.its one or the other this is gonna be the 1st year in 5 that there is gonna be a christmas event. so we need the money for extra lights , we have christmas near enough planned we have another meeting with the council on monday again to sort out dates for the lights. we are trying to get a santa grotto. and we have a pink tribute bank to pay. and a christmas market. bit of organising in it as there is a few that dont no much. but we are gonna just go ahead me and another person and get it done
And again am sure it will not please the town they complain no matter what you do.
Anyway now the tea is cold lol so time to get a refill

Good morning everyone! I woke up with an awful fall allergy headache..I was really hopefull since I barely even had bad spring allergies this year that maybe fall ones would not be that bad,,,well they are..I did take some meds for it so it should be better by the time I shove off for work..it's my friday and am looking forward to the long weekend. That one extra day makes all the difference in the world! well I better go fix some breakfast I am in the mood for scrambled eggs and toast! have a great day everyone!

I am not a fan of allergies, have a few myself. Hope yours go a way quickly!

I turned on the TV and the first thing I saw was SANTA!!! He was on the news. I didn't catch the story but it was something to do with retail stores.

I actually made it on here 2 days in a row? That's a record.

My mom had shoulder surgery yesterday, so I was at the hospital all day. The doctor said it all looked good, and I brought her home last night. I talked to her this morning (my aunt stayed with her last night), and she says she's still feeling good. She starts physical therapy tomorrow, bless her heart.

This cooler weather is wonderful!

I will probably wait until it gets a bit closer to Christmas to read it, I am reading two other Christmas books right now: "The Battle For Christmas" by Stephen Nissenbaum, and "The Autobiography of Santa Claus" by Jeff Guinn. The Battle...Xmas is just such an interesting very in depth book of the history of Christmas, and autobiography is so far a fun account of St Nicholas "himself."

Hubby and I went to Bed, Bath, and Beyond when I went to see my radiologist today. I bought a Yankee Candle (Ocean Water--ha ha, I just noticed the significance of that!!!), a pomegranate room fragrancer, and a Yankee Candle Spiced Pumpkin and Farmer's Market fragrancer. Yummy smells for my classroom! They also had another one that I want--Treehouse Memories. Totally love it!

I am all the way over in England. Autumn is moving in briskly now. The leaves are falling, it's getting colder and the days are becoming a hazy shade of grey.

Today is my last work day this week. I'm taking a vacation day tomorrow while taking my son out of school early and we are driving down to Atlanta to the Braves & Washington Nationals game. Saturday we are meeting my parents and my brother's family at the mountain fair in Asheville.

Good morning everyone,

It's Thursday. We're one day away from the weekend. And, as Crown mentioned, we are only two months away from the first day of the Christmas Season! It's hard to believe that the magical feeling we share throughout the entire year will be felt by the entire world in just two short months. I can't wait! Until then, however, I will do my best to keep enjoying everything and paying close attention to sights and sounds of the nearing Season....!

I need to play catch up, bad! I saw so many returning names - yay! Everyone is coming back for the fall :]

My uncle's dog isn't doing well at all, his levels are not where they should be at all. Surgery is either tomorrow or Friday because the vet said he won't live more than a couple of weeks unless they do it. He has a 50/50 shot of making it through surgery.

I have to share something cute with you guys about the dog. He loves Christmas soooo much. When he sees his presents that are wrapped for him, my aunt and uncle have to put them up high because he jumps off of all fours into the air to try to get to them - lol! He also unwraps all of his presents on his own.

Please keep him in your thoughts/prayers - I appreciate it :]

I'll be hoping & praying for good results from the surgery!!!

I have started work on a cake for an upcoming competition. This one is to be faux food....going to be thanksgiving dinner. I started on the brussel sprouts.
The other cake will be for a fairy tale wedding...trying to decide if it will be for beauty and the beast or sleeping beauty.

I think the bicycles turned out really cute!!! She did a good job! (my SIL decorated the bicycles for me) They are nothing fancy, but now you can tell that they are bicycles. I don't know how you decorators do it! What a neat talent!
Make sure you post pictures of yours. Brussel sprouts :lol: I wouldn't know where to begin!!! :smile:

Have you seen a doctor about this? If you haven't, I think you should ... sounds like you need some help to shake it off.

This reminds me of the email I rec'd yesterday about cutting an onion in half & putting it in the room where you are sleeping or spending a lot of time. I have 2 friends who swear by this. Onions supposedly absorb germs & help you heal quicker. Anyone ever heard of this or try it? One friend could not get rid of the cold/flu germs in her house. She cut onions in half & set them around the house & everyone got better, quickly. Coincidence?? I dunno? Maybe worth a try?!

I listened to (some of) The Autobiography of Santa Claus on audio book. It was good!
