Good Morning, Friends of the Season and Crazy Christmas Cohorts.

Straight away to the count, which is slowly dwindling down into a bedpost:
Days to the Season: 46
Days to Christmas Day: 88
Nine -- count 'em -- NINE more days left until the Home Stretch Milestone to Christmas Season 2012.
SINGLE DIGITS to the mark.
Holy Holly, Batman!

Noticeably warmer here yesterday, but with the still low humidity it was comfortable.
After a nice string of dry days, rain is a possibility for late today and the weekend.
I see 63 degrees here currently.

Allright, Folks.
Weekend Eve.
Time to have a Fabulous Friday, with visions of a Wonderous Weekend dancing in your heads!

Hey Friday! Well....don't you look cute today, Friday, give me a hug! I am soooooo glad to see you!

Ok, that's a weird conversation...but it's one that I have every Friday! Just got to work...see y'all tonight after ball games!

Good morning, MMC!

Have a MERRY day!!!!

Good Friday morning, my Christmas friends!

It's been busy around here, but uneventful. I volunteered for extra responsibilty here at work (what was I thinking?!?), and they gave it to me. It keeps me pretty busy now. I hope it pays off at review time!

Jacob has a buddy coming over to stay the night. I guess I'll have to pack his XBox down in ice to keep it from overheating with all the gaming that'll be going on tonight. Tomorrrow and Sunday, Elizabeth has Nutcracker practice.

That's my weekend plan. I hope y'all have a great day! cheesy

Happy Friday everyone. The temp was 53 when I left for work this morning. We are expecting a high in the upper 70s. The weekend forecast brings cooler weather and a chance of rain.

We're going to the High School football game tonight. Most of the town will be there. It is a religion here. We are more of a baseball family.

Last Saturday, my wife bought a watch at the Fossil outlet store in Pigeon Forge, TN that now isn't working so we have to drive almost 2 hours to return it. "As the crow flies" it is only about 45 miles from our home to Pigeon Forge but we have to drive mountain roads around and through the Great Smoky Mountain national park. That will take all day tomorrow. At least I get to walk through the "Incredible Christmas Place" store while we are there.

Have a blessed day and weekend everyone.

In the winter, if 441 is closed at Newfound Gap due to ice, you don't have a good way to get to TN, do you? I guess you'd have to go to Maggie Valley and get on I-40?

From Maggie Valley, I-40 is probably your best route. Our house is about 10 miles from Fontana Dam. We can take Hwy 28 west to Hwy 129 (known as the Dragon because of all the curves) to Foothills Parkway into Townsend then Hwy 321 into Pigeon Forge. That way is actually a little shorted but you can't make any time on the Dragon unless you are on a motorcycle.

So cute!

Good morning, MMC. No respite from the weather in sight, except that rain is forcast for next weekend. That is not good news for the rice farmers here. We are going to make a quick trip to Chico after school. I found out about a new scrapbooking store, so I want to stop and look at all the Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas stuff. Have a great day. MerryMistletoe, let us know how it goes at work for you. Take care, everyone!

hey y'all! been a rough one today.

how do you guys feel about tattle tails? a lady @ work told boss that i was discussing the ins & outs of the business w/ a wholesale driver we have. we had a meeting to discuss how bad things are @ the shop & this lady told boss i told the driver. this could not be further from the truth. we were actually talking about the economy as a whole & how slow it is every where. boss didn't like this & called me immediately. the driver goes to other shops in town & she thought it would get out. i was/am furious!!!!!!!! IF we were to have to lay off, it would go in hiring order therefore i would be the last to go not this lady. i truly think she can't stand the idea of this & is simply jealous & is trying to prove herself invaluable to our boss. i tried to question her this morning but didn't really get any result. boss came in for a short time & was very stand offish. boss has a full plate right now anyway. her dad is taking cancer treatments & is having some difficulty w/ it.

this lady wasn't even there to hear the whole conversation we were having, only the last part of it. what should i do y'all?

Sorry to hear you are having to go through this. I hope the issue is resolved. There's already been some great advice given here!! Why do people have to be like this?? My new saying lately... "What's wrong with people??"

We went to Boston Market this evening, and they're starting to promote their holiday meal packages for Thanksgiving and Christmas!

WOOT!! How awesome is that??!?!?! It's getting closer!!!

Good evening,

I would like to share this with all of you, I am a big music buff and when I find something rare I get excited, when it involves one of my favorite groups I am ecstatic. I came across this incredible piece of "lost" music by accident.

It's a song called "John Forgot To Sing" by Pete Ham & Tom Evans 1/2 of the group Badfinger. What makes this song special is that it may actually be a Christmas song, I have to find more history on this demo, because it may be an Easter song instead. It is a beautiful song. Have a listen:

Have a good night

Thanks for sharing! Very nice! I love Badfinger! Had to search high & low to find their cd several years ago!!!

we had some frost last night!

do not usually get it this early. No wonder it is so chilly out this morning.

This looks like the houses around here a few days ago. So festive looking!!!! Thanks for posting a pic!!!

That sounds like our town. It's all about HS football! So fun!! Sorry the watch isn't working, but what a good excuse to go to the Christmas place!

Good morning MMC!!! Happy Friday!!! :hi:

Not much going on at work today! Good thing I am outa here at noon!! Then the fun begins... my (almost) 2 year old great nephew is coming over to hang out with me while his mama decorates for a wedding! I am going to make some soup this afternoon. Heading to the lake tonight. We are off to visit my SIL tomorrow. It will be Sunday before we know it! Weekends always go so fast!!

I hope you all have an enjoyable weekend planned!

Good Morning MMC!!!!! It's going to be a cloudy day here with a high of 70. I've got a lot of running to do today and then I think I have to babysit this evening. So I won't be around much again today. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!!

Good afternoon everyone,

Many thanks to all those that wished me luck or sent positive thoughts toward my exam/test today. It went fairly well. I'm not overly confident - because I know there were about two questions that I guessed on - but I am happy with my answers for 8 of the 10 questions. I am really hoping to receive an interview. We'll see how it goes from here!

Much like 'star said, it was a chilly morning north of the border. The coldest since March, in fact. I awoke at about 6 AM, since I had to be at the RCMP headquarters for 8 AM. I also had a 45 minute bus ride. Anyway, it "felt like" -1c outside this morning. That's right. Negative degrees! So, about 30f? It was chilly. I only needed to put a sweater over my shirt and tie and I was good to go. It's still decent weather.

There hasn't been much else going on as of yet. Kim should be home from work soon. She only works a half day today. We may do something for lunch, but she hasn't responded to my messages just yet. I have to go to the gym today. Then, this evening, we are going to our friends' house for some board games. It has been a few months since we have done this, so it should be a great time!

Well, it's Friday! Soon everyone will be counting down the minutes to the weekend! You've all earned a break after five days of hard work. And, as we close in on the final weekend of September, perhaps some (more) Christmas decorations will begin to pop up in stores around you! It's getting closer!

Have a great Friday, everyone!

Friday hello ... first moment I've had to say it!

The frustrations of technology ... getting an iPad led me to check what version of OS X our iMac is running. That led me to consider upgrading the OS X---but that will require upgrading OTHER software that is incompatible with the newer OS X. Looks like I'll have to get new household finance software, 'cause the current software's support guy says to wait for their next release ... who knows when that will be? That means either migrating the accounts to a different software [chewing fingernails] or starting from scratch again with a new software. Ugh.

It's a rainy, chilly day with a couple of wet, chilly days to follow. It would be a great weekend for "bonbon time" (sitting on the sofa watching TV and DVDs), but there's too much to be done around the house. Oh, I'll grab SOME bonbon time, but it won't be a bonbon weekend.

And in between the tasks ... I'll be here checking the news! :-)

Hello Merry Friends! I haven't posted in this thread now but I have a good reason to do that now. :p I hope everybody (or maybe majority) have heard about such a great event called 'The Wold's Biggest Coffee Morning'? If yes, lucky you. If no, I can say that this is a worldwide event organised by 'MacMillan Cancer Support' to raise money for cancer treatment. It usually takes time in September every year and I'm glad that I finally attended the event that I've heard so much about. :] Unfortunately, it's not organised in my home country but luckily it goes here, in the UK. And who knows, maybe I will be that person who will start the event in Lithuania, heh. ^^ I really hope so. Honestly. :] As one of my family member was affected by the disease, I'm feeling great of beeing part of the MacMillan's organisation work. :]

Here is the one yummy shot of this morning for you guys to check.
I definitely gained some weight after such a delicious cupcakes, cookies and pies. And coffee, of course. ^^

Oh, and I also had an appointment in medical centre. And you know what? I must admit that Scottish patients (girls and ladies) must be very happy about having such gorgeous doctors. Gosh, that doctor was truly hottie! :D
