I was going to return them. I made everyone chocolate covered spoons to stir into their drinks at The Pines next week!

Well that explains why I can't find the chocolate either.

Now that that the mystery is solved, I can take a nap!!

Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr....turned on the furnace this morning and had to wear mits when picking up my daughter (she just got off night shift) Heavy frost on everything. About 2 hours north of us they had snow.

The house smells like cake, have an order for pick up tomorrow.

love this picture!

Going to costco with mom this afternoon, have to renew my membership.

I wish my house smelled like cake instead of green peppers

Good Morning MMC!!!!! We are going to start warming up today but right now it's cold and everything is covered in frost. I love it!! I don't have much on the agenda for today. Just some cleaning around the house. I'm hoping to find all of the spoons that CAH has hid while she was doing my dishes. I use to have like 30 of them and now I'm down to 20. I think she might be throwing them away so she doesn't have to wash them. Well I'm off. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!!!

I do peppers every fall, use a mixture of hot and sweet. When they are all good and dry, put them throught the grinder and they make and amazing spice for dips, chili ect.

That is a great idea! I will certainly have enough peppers ~ there is still a plastic grocery bag full I have to do something with. Thank you for the tip, Christmasstar!

When it was "week of the teacher," we weren't in school, so they decided to do it this week. I was pleasantly surprised, to say the least!

what a wonderful gift your hubby got you, wow! lucky girl. i'm sorry to hear your gr.father isn't well. i will remember him in my prayers. when will y'all be heading back to your hometown?

now that's so sweet. mr. was thinking of a way to make you smile. those are wonderful gifts.

good morning y'all! running way behind this morning so i just stopped in to tell everyone hi & to have a good day!:merry:

Glad bo is ok you cant never watch them enough. you worry about them when they are just not 100% good for you getting good deals we all need them now and again i wood love estate sales they have to be fun
Thank you, Shellie! Bo feels your love cheesy Estate sales are fun, esp. if I don't think about finding something for the store ~ which is the main reason I go in the first place so it is kind of hard not to think about it. Oh, well. I must admit that part of the fun of estate sales is being able to see inside the houses ~ I would love to have been able to buy the first house I was in yesterday ~ it was gorgeous and much bigger than it appeared from the sidewalk. The second house needed a lot of work done, but the shapes of the rooms were unique and the ceilings upstairs were really cool. It was an older home, but it was in an area with shops not to far away. Found the best stuff there, too!

That's what we do with our baby, too! And she has two computers to stand in front of, going from one to the other!

Of course Scooby gets the sofa!!! You sound just like me!
...go in his room and see our cat standing on his desk blocking his monitor. My son will not move him at all and let him block it and then baby him. He just waits until he moves on his own then continues with computer stuff afterward. LOL!

Good morning everyone. We are enjoying a nice cool day here. Temp was 40 when I left for work this morning and looking at a high around 60.

I am going to have kind of a lonely long weekend coming up. The youth from our church, including our son, are going on their annual retreat. There are so many high schoolers going this year, they needed another female adult so my wife is going also. Our church youth leader has an uncle that lets our youth use his beach house near Carolina Beach, NC for a 4 day weekend each fall. It is a time for the youth to be alone with God. No electronics are allowed on the trip. Each youth has a 2 hour alone quiet time daily for Bible study & prayer and are encouraged to keep a journal. They also have intense group Bible studies daily. This year's theme is Psalms 46:10 "Be still, and know that I am God...". Of course, they have time for fun also. Each year they come back more determined to make a difference in their school and to show off Jesus Christ in their daily lives.

They leave tomorrow morning and return Monday evening. Monday is a teacher workday so they only miss one school day. We are such a small community, the High School knows about it since there are quiet a few kids that will miss. Have to admit, I'm a little jealous of my wife and son. Wish I could go on this trip and wish I would have been involved is something like this when I was in HS. But it is a youth trip and I still have to work.

Have a blessed day everyone.

I wish every one a nice evening, day or morning depending on which part of the world you are living on.

We have guests tonight therefore I will shut down my computer.

See you tomorrow!

My wife and daughter will be away this weekend, too, babysitting a couple nephews in their home. For some reason, they think the boys will be easier to handle if they are in their normal environment.

I guess my son and I will live on cereal and hotwings, and watch action movies all weekend.

Hmmm. I hope...I mean wonder if...she has somewhere to go next weekend, too. cheesy

Good Thursday morning, my Christmas friends!

I finally went to Mom's and got my truck yesterday. I left it at her house when I took her to South Carolina, then I drove straight home since it was getting late. She drives a Mercury sedan which is very low to the ground. I drive a pickup truck and Nancy has an SUV, so I'm used to climbing up into a vehicle. It's weird riding so low. I feel like my butt is dragging the ground!

I got some more good pix with the StealthCam, including another pretty good shot of that bobcat that hangs around the area.

I hope y'all have a great day! cheesy

Yea, it is not all bad. I'll have the house to myself. Saturday I may even drive to Gatlinburg across the Great Smoky Mountain parkway. Enjoy the colors and have dinner somewhere in Gatlinburg or Pigeon Forge.

My absolute favorite scene in the Lemon Drop Kid. Silver Bells was introduced in this movie and they sing it so well. I would give anything to walk through the decorated streets with them as shown in the video!

This movie is one of my dad's favorite movies and I think of him every time I watch it. He knows how much I love it and bought me the DVD years ago.

My daughter went on a retreat like that and it was very moving and inspirational. I know they will all have a great time and will be blessed!

That wildlife sanctuary that Wayne and I went to a few weeks had some beautiful bobcats that were tame. They were so lovable! I got to pet a few, through the fence. They were bobcats confiscated from owners that were not legally allowed to have them. They are too tame to release but now live in a large outdoor environment and protected.

Yea I like that movie a lot too. I'm a sucker for the old Christmas movies. 'It Happened on 5th Avenue' has no music but it is good also.

Isn't the grumpy Santa Fred Mertz from I Love Lucy?

Based on the excellent reviews from CAH and mgramsey, I just ordered The Lemon Drop Kid and It Happened on 5th Avenue ~ I should get them next week Tuesday.

He plays a character named Gloomy Willie according to the cast list on IMDB.
