Christmas Countdown - 2012

Good evening,

Wow you all were busy today, not enough time to reply to posts tonight, I just caught up instead. Another crazy day at work, doing the final prep for all my Thanksgiving turkeys that will be coming in. I will be selling over 4 tons in the next 5 weeks, my arms will be nice and toned by the end of November. cheesy

I was at work today when a customer came in and asked me if my name was Ron, I said yes, and he said he was so and so, I was shocked. It was my best friend from elementary school, who I haven't seen in nearly 30 years. He said I looked like well I guess me. I was 10 years old the last time I saw him. I still cannot believe it, we were inseparable, we lived on the same street, same classes, and so on. He moved away first and then I moved farther west in the state.

Wow, that is pretty cool! Chills up & down my spine.
Did you recognize him after the fact?

I bought my first few sets of white mini lights today, I went to the register and the cashier was like Christmas lights already, you don't need them now. I said I did I buy small amounts over a period of time because I go Griswold. (more inside than outside) She laughed and said she loved that movie, and so it begins.

Just winding down another day. It is cool here this evening but not as cool as last night - it was plain freezing last night !! I love it though. There is nothing better to me than when it is cold outside and I have a nice cozy fire in the fireplace. It will soon be time to put up the tree and I can't wait. My Wish who is 16 (80 years old in reality !!) acts so feisty sometimes you would never know he is an old man or that he has a heart problem !! He has arthritis pretty bad and I can tell sometimes it is a little hard for him to get around. We are a perfect duo these days. With my foot problems and pain and his arthritis we are well suited !!

Hello friends!

These last two days have been really frustrating. Without going into too much detail...well...it's just been rough. Yesterday with the testing was a mess (note to self, never register for anything under your new married name while you still have all your identification cards under your maiden name...ugh), I almost ran over a speeding motorcyclist (double ugh), and I spent hours in the social security and drivers license offices. Then today I had trouble at the bank trying to deposit wedding gift checks, followed by a huge fight with my mom which resulted in me storming out of the house. I am really upset and don't know what to do...hubs and I both believe what she said was uncalled for and there is just no reasoning with her when she's in a mood like that. Top all THAT off with the fact that I called and texted our wedding photographer again with no response still, and you've got one very unhappy person right here.

I guess I'm gonna go to bed and hope that tomorrow is a little better. Goodnight everyone.

Good early morning everyone! I have a little time on my hands this morning.I am off work today now that I work 4 10 hour days mon-thrusday...we have a huge football game tonight. It's homecoming at B school,and they play the cross town rivals. Not much else going on,weather is nice but not cool yet..still nervousing so much about this upcoming winter(ie) whether or not we will actually get one!lol Gosh I can't wait to actually have a white Christmas! But I will try to make the most of our lst one here in the south! Meanwwhile our leaves are not really changing yet,some are but most are still green..I am trying to look up some Halloween movies to watch on tv this weekend,just 2.5 more weeks till the scary night! Good idea! At the moment I am thinking about christmas gifts for my family. Actually I have to look for birthdays and christmas gifts. My sisters birthday will be in the middle of November and my moms a month after christmas. Makes choosing christmas gifts difficult.

I want to be prepared as soon as possible. I don't like a stressful advent.

Evening! One more night of work and then I am off for the weekend. So looking toward to it.

I can't remember if I mentioned it of not before, but EA has been taking baton at preschool. Her instructor called me today and said she is doing so well, that she thinks she is ready for parades and performances. I am so proud of her and can't wait!

What's new in your lives? What have I missed?

I've missed YOU!!!

I haven't been around for about 4 or 5 days, now. For the first few, I wasn't able to stay logged in. I kept getting kicked back to an old page, like I have a few times in the past. But, for the last couple of days, I've just been very busy.

We've been packing, Adrian has been working a lot as well, I've been looking for houses back in Wisconsin, and have been on the phone with people who are trying to help us find one. I'm trying to line some up so I can look at them next month when I go home for a week and a half.

And I started my real estate course. It's very interesting! I'm a tad overwhelmed, but that's ok. I expected that, for I haven't been in school for a very long time. So far, so good.

I probably won't be able to be around on an as much of a regular basis as I'd like/normally am, with all of the chaos (good chaos!) going on... That makes me sad, because you guys are my friends & family.

Just know you're all in my thoughts & prayers, everyday.

Btw, remember the friend I mentioned who had lost her Christmas spirit for @ 5 years? The one who does miniatures, who I caught listening to Christmas music at work?! Well, she stopped by & dropped off a little present for me. It's a Christmas CD called Christmas Star-Carols For The Christmas Season. The Cambridge Singers & Orchestra.
It's beautiful!!
...Reminds me of going to midnight mass on Christmas Eve, the music that the choir sang right before mass. Amazing!

Well, I better go read some more of my Real Estate Course Book... Quiz right around the corner.

It was my best friend from elementary school, who I haven't seen in nearly 30 years. He said I looked like well I guess me. I was 10 years old the last time I saw him. I still cannot believe it, we were inseparable, we lived on the same street, same classes, and so on. He moved away first and then I moved farther west in the state.
I bought my first few sets of white mini lights today, I went to the register and the cashier was like Christmas lights already, you don't need them now. I said I did I buy small amounts over a period of time because I go Griswold. (more inside than outside) She laughed and said she loved that movie, and so it begins.

V, i'm really sorry you had such a horrible day. try to keep repeating to yourself, "this too shall pass". it really helps me when i'm catching it from all sides. as far as your photographer: is there a whistle blower or newspaper or something you could contact about finding them? this would have me over edge also friend. i hope this morning finds you feeling a little better.

both my boys have dates tonight!!! my oldest works w/ both girls @ a local grocery store. they were both excited last night. Seth washed his car & cleaned it inside. Will went & bought a new outfit (he's all about style). Seth said Will had made him nervous.....this will be the 1st date for Seth since his break up almost 6 months ago. i hope they both have a nice time.

i'm gonna try to start decorating a tree @ work today. if it's not too busy it won't be a problem.

@Merrymistletoe: My weekend won't be exciting. Tomorrow I will do the groceriers shopping for the weekend, that is usually my responsibility because I'm the only one who's off work on weekends. Outside it looks like the world is coming to an end. Heavy rain and wind. Unfortunately today I left my umbrella at home - just great!

Been a busy day here, took mom shopping then inspection this afternoon.
Also managed to get some more stuff made for the cake.

I found out today when the gingerbread house competition is and what the theme is this year. It is Nov 29, about 2 weeks after the cake one.
The theme is exciting.......
Christmas Carols!
I have to base it on which ever Christmas carol I like.
Which one to do think would make a great gingerbread house?

CS - I still have a lot of catching up to do so I don't know if you decided yet, but I love Mades idea about the Carol "I saw 3 Ships" maybe yo can do the Light house keeper's home!!! I just LOVE the sea, part of my Christmas Village is is a whole theme of the Light house and a "nautical scene" no matter what you choose though I am sure it will be wonderful you do such amaizing work, why you haven't gone on one of those talte shows on the Food Network I still don't know you would surely win!

Yes I completely understand what you mean; sometimes we focus on our loss not realizing it is Havens gain and we never truly lose anyone we love, it is just the thought of them not being right there. There is a song and they played it for a church member who passed this summer; it went something like "I'm not crying because I feel sorry for you I'm crying for me (that may be WAY OFF) but it was something like that, it made sense.

Good afternooon all! Just got dinner ready I cooked sausage oinions and potato cubes. Aoh and dinner rolls and peas. Things are hectic per usual,but the weather is beautiful today...high of 82F but with no humidity...I have a web cam set to the top of Beech MTN NC so I can see when the snow starts to arrive! I can't wait for our trip to Snowshoe mtsn ski resort in Wv in early Jan,that is right before B goes back to work from maternity leave...anyhow Have a good night everyone I am ready to eat!!!!!!!

Snowshoes is so much fun, my hubby & I go upstate NY in the Catskills late Jan early Feb it is a blast!!! Hope you two have fun, will the babies be with you or is this a Mom & dad vacation?

Hey all...

One of the biggest year-round Christmas shops near me is closing its doors this year. I'm very sad about this...my mom used to take me here every year when I was younger to pick out ornaments and decorations. This store opened the year I was born...it has literally been a part of my life FOR my entire life. So sad...
